Description
以下に図面を用いて本発明に係る実施の形態1について説明する。図1に実施の形態1に係る液晶表示装置を説明する模式図を示す。図2は図1の領域Eで示す領域を拡大した平面図であり、図3は図2のA−A‘で示した箇所における断面図である。
実施の形態1では、Vcom配線7とGND配線6が同じ層で形成されるため、GND配線7に入った静電気が同層のVcom配線7に侵入して、IC3の動作不良や破壊する可能性がある。そこで、実施の形態2では、Vcom配線7とGND配線6とを異なる層に形成したことを特徴とする。
図5に実施の形態3の構成を示す平面図を示し、図6には図5においてB-B‘で示した箇所の断面図を示す。周辺領域2に配置されたGND配線6はVcom配線7よりもパネル外形8の近傍に配置され、シール外側端10からはみ出している。シール9内のGND配線6には、UV照射によるシール硬化を行うためにUV光を透過させるためのスリット11が形成される。
図8に実施の形態4にかかる液晶表示装置の平面図、図9に図8中にC-C‘で示した箇所の断面図を示す。周辺領域2に配置されたGND配線6はVcom配線7よりパネル外形8の近傍に配置され、シール外側端10からはみ出している。シール9内のGND配線6には、UV照射によるシール硬化を行うためのスリットが形成されている。Vcom配線7とGND配線6は、表示領域1で使用される導電膜と同じ膜で形成されるが、GND配線6をVcom配線7の上層に形成し、両配線間に下層絶縁膜15を形成する。
図10に実施の形態5の平面図、図11に図9のD-D‘部分の断面図を示す。周辺領域2に配置されたGND配線6はVcom配線7よりパネル外形8の近傍に配置され、シール外側端10からはみ出している。シール9内のGND配線6には、UV照射によるシール硬化を行うためのスリットが形成されている。更に、GND配線6には高融点の材料で形成された透明導電膜17が積層され、透明導電膜はパネル外形端8まで延在している。Vcom配線7とGND配線6は、表示領域1で使用される導電膜と同じ膜で形成されるが、GND配線6をVcom配線7の上層に形成し、両配線間に下層絶縁膜15を形成する。

Claims (4)
- アレイ基板と前記アレイ基板に対向した対向基板とが周縁に沿って設けられたシールによって貼り合わされて構成された液晶パネルと、
前記液晶パネルに接続された回路基板と、
を備えた液晶表示装置であって、
前記液晶パネルは、表示領域と前記表示領域を囲む周辺領域とを有し、
前記周辺領域には前記表示領域を囲むようにしてVcom配線とGND配線とが設けられ、
前記表示領域と前記GND配線との間にVcom配線が配置され、
前記GND配線は、絶縁膜を介して前記Vcom配線とは異なる層に形成され、前記シールの最外端部よりも外側へ張り出した状態にて前記表示領域を囲んでおり、
前記GND配線は、上層に透明導電膜を有する積層によって形成され、前記透明導電膜はパネル外形端まで配置されており、
前記GND配線は、前記液晶パネルを駆動する回路とは独立して設けられると共に、前記回路基板の接地電位に接続されていることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記GND配線が前記Vcom配線に一部重なるように配置されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記シール下に配置される前記GND配線にスリットが形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- FFSまたはIPS方式を用いたことを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか1項に記載の液晶表示装置。
