Claims (5)
- エルビウムとツリウムが同時に添加された単一モード光学繊維と、
前記光学繊維内の希土類イオンを励起(excitation)させるポンピング光を生成するポンピング光源と、
前記光学繊維の両端に具備され、励起された希土類イオンから発生した一定波長帯域の光を全反射する第1光学繊維格子及び第2光学繊維格子と、
前記光学繊維と連結されて光源から生成された2μm波長帯域の光信号と前記ポンピング光源から出力された980nm波長帯域の前記ポンピング光とを前記光学繊維に伝達する光結合器と、を含み、
前記励起されたエルビウムイオンから発生した1560nm波長帯域の光は、前記第1光学繊維格子及び前記第2光学繊維格子によって全反射されながら前記光学繊維内に拘束されて、前記光学繊維内のツリウムイオンを励起させて前記光信号と同じ2μm波長帯域の光を生成し、
前記光学繊維では、2μm波長帯域の光信号を増幅するために、前記エルビウムとツリウムのドーピング割合を1:5とすることを特徴とする光学繊維を用いた光増幅器。 - 前記光源から生成された光信号は、1800〜2100nm波長帯域であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の光学繊維を用いた光増幅器。
- 前記エルビウムのドーピング濃度は、1000ppmであり、前記ツリウムのドーピング濃度は、5000ppmであることを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の光学繊維を用いた光増幅器。
- 前記光源から生成された光信号は、1800〜2100nm波長帯域であり、前記第1光学繊維格子及び前記第2光学繊維格子は、1550〜1610nm波長帯域で特定波長の光を全反射することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の光学繊維を用いた光増幅器。
- 前記光源から生成された光信号は、1800〜2100nm波長帯域であり、前記ポンピング光源は、970〜990nm波長帯域のポンピング光を生成することを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の光学繊維を用いた光増幅器。
