Claims (9)
- 複数の発光素子をPWM信号で調光する発光素子駆動回路であって、
入力PWM信号のON期間及びOFF期間の双方にON期間を有する、前記入力PWM信号よりも周波数成分が多い制御信号を生成する制御回路を備え、
前記制御回路は、
前記入力PWM信号又は前記入力PWM信号を反転させた反転PWM信号と、前記入力PWM信号又は前記反転PWM信号のON期間を遅延させた遅延PWM信号と、に基づいて、前記入力PWM信号又は前記反転PWM信号よりもパルス幅の小さい分割信号を生成し、
前記入力PWM信号又は前記反転PWM信号と、前記分割信号と、を周期的に切り替えて合成した合成制御信号を生成し、
前記合成制御信号又は当該合成制御信号を反転させた反転信号からなる前記制御信号により前記複数の発光素子を駆動する、
ことを特徴とする発光素子駆動回路。 - 前記制御回路は、
前記入力PWM信号の反転/非反転、及び、前記合成制御信号の反転/非反転を選択する手段を備える、
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発光素子駆動回路。 - 前記手段は、
前記入力PWM信号のON期間が1周期に対して予め決められた割合になった場合に、前記入力PWM信号及び前記合成制御信号の反転/非反転を切り替える、
ことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の発光素子駆動回路。 - 前記制御回路は、
前記合成制御信号を生成する際に、
前記入力PWM信号又は前記反転PWM信号と、前記分割信号と、を切り替える周期を選択可能にする、
ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか一に記載の発光素子駆動回路。 - 複数の発光素子をPWM信号で調光する発光素子駆動回路であって、
入力PWM信号のON期間及びOFF期間の双方にON期間を有する、前記入力PWM信号よりも周波数成分が多い制御信号を生成する制御回路を備え、
前記制御回路は、
前記入力PWM信号のON期間を分割したON期間分割信号と、前記入力PWM信号のOFF期間を分割したOFF期間分割信号と、を生成し、
前記ON期間分割信号と、前記OFF期間分割信号と、を合成した合成制御信号を生成し、
前記合成制御信号又は当該合成制御信号を反転させた反転信号からなる前記制御信号により前記複数の発光素子を駆動する、
ことを特徴とする発光素子駆動回路。 - 前記制御回路は、
前記ON期間の分割数及び前記OFF期間の分割数を周期毎に個別に設定する、
ことを特徴とする請求項5に記載の発光素子駆動回路。 - 前記制御回路は、
前記ON期間分割信号及び前記OFF期間分割信号のパルス幅の倍率を周期毎に個別に設定する、
ことを特徴とする請求項5又は6に記載の発光素子駆動回路。 - 複数の発光素子をPWM信号で調光する発光素子駆動回路であって、
入力PWM信号及び前記入力PWM信号の周波数成分と異なる周波数成分の信号を出力する信号出力部を有し、前記信号出力部が出力する前記入力PWM信号及び前記異なる周波数成分の信号を用いて、前記入力PWM信号のON期間及びOFF期間の双方にON期間を有する、前記入力PWM信号よりも多くの周波数成分を含む制御信号を生成する制御回路を備え、
前記制御信号により前記複数の発光素子を駆動する、
ことを特徴とする発光素子駆動回路。 - 前記複数の発光素子と、請求項1乃至8のいずれか一に記載の発光素子駆動回路と、を備えた表示装置。
