LPモデルの結果から、バイオブタノールは、エタノールよりも優れた有意なブレンディングの長所および追加の価値を有することが示される。精製所LPモデルは、エタノールを低RVPガソリン中にブレンドする場合、きわめて拘束され、典型的には、軽質ナフサおよびブタンの販売が必要であり、異性化およびリフォーマーのスループットが低減され、かつFCCナフサのカットポイントが低下する。反対に、バイオブタノールをブレンド基材中で使用する場合、精製所は、精製所が従来のブレンド基材(すなわち、含酸素化合物、アルコール、またはそれらの混合物を含まないブレンド基材)を製造する場合に類似して運転されることが、LPモデルにより確認された。言い換えれば、バイオブタノールをブレンド基材として使用した場合、精製所は、より典型的な旧来の運転に戻ることが、LPモデルにより予測された。

実施例3は、実質的に等価なエタノール燃料ブレンディングのシステムおよびプロセス(最終ブレンド燃料中10vol%のエタノール)ならびにアルコールブレンディングを含まないシステムおよびプロセスと比較して、図示されたおよび図1を参照して以上に説明された石油精製所100のプロセス概略図に実質的に従ったバイオブタノール燃料ブレンディングのシステムおよびプロセス(最終ブレンド燃料中16vol%のバイオブタノール)のプロセスモデルシミュレーションを提供する。
実施例4は、実質的に等価なエタノール燃料ブレンディングのシステムおよびプロセス(最終ブレンド燃料中10vol%のエタノール)と比較して、図示されたおよび図1を参照して以上に説明された石油精製所100のプロセス概略図に実質的に従ったバイオブタノール燃料ブレンディングのシステムおよびプロセス(最終ブレンド燃料中16vol%のバイオブタノール)のプロセスモデルシミュレーションを提供する。
実施例5は、実質的に等価なエタノール燃料ブレンディングのシステムおよびプロセス(最終ブレンド燃料中10vol%のエタノール)と比較して、図示されたおよび図2を参照して以上に説明された石油精製所300のプロセス概略図に実質的に従ったバイオブタノール燃料ブレンディングのシステムおよびプロセス(最終ブレンド燃料中16vol%のバイオブタノール)のプロセスモデルシミュレーションを提供する。
Claims (20)
- (a)石油精製所を運転して原油から軽質留出生成物および中質留出生成物を製造することであって、前記石油精製所は、流動接触クラッカー(FCC)ユニットを備えることと、
(b)前記FCCユニットに供給原料を供給することであって、前記供給原料は原油に由来し、前記FCCユニットは、第1のFCC生成物と第2のFCC生成物とを含む生成物を製造するように300°F〜420°F(148℃〜215℃)のカットポイント温度で運転され、前記軽質留出生成物が前記第1のFCC生成物を含み、前記中質留出生成物が前記第2のFCC生成物を含むことと、
(c)少なくとも前記軽質留出生成物と一定量のブタノールとのブレンドを形成してブタノールブレンドガソリンを製造することと、
を含む、ブタノールブレンドガソリンを製造する方法。 - 前記軽質留出生成物がガソリンを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記ブタノールがイソブタノールを含む、請求項1または2に記載の方法。
- 前記軽質留出生成物とブレンドされるブタノールの量が、前記ブタノールブレンドガソリンの少なくとも約5体積%である、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記軽質留出生成物とブレンドされるブタノールの量が、前記ブタノールブレンドガソリンの少なくとも約7体積%である、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記軽質留出生成物とブレンドされるブタノールの量が、前記ブタノールブレンドガソリンの少なくとも約10体積%である、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の方
法。 - 前記軽質留出生成物とブレンドされるブタノールの量が、前記ブタノールブレンドガソリンの約10体積%〜約16体積%である、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記軽質留出生成物とブレンドされるブタノールの量が、前記ブタノールブレンドガソリンの約16体積%〜約24体積%である、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記軽質留出生成物とブレンドされるブタノールの量が、前記ブタノールブレンドガソリンの約16体積%である、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記ブタノールブレンドガソリンが自動車グレードのガソリンである、請求項1〜9のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記ブタノールがバイオブタノールを含む、請求項1〜10のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記ブレンドすることが前記精製所で行われるか、または前記ブレンドすることが前記精製所にごく近接して行われる、請求項1〜11のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記カットポイント温度が、350°F〜420°F(176℃〜215℃)である、請求項1〜12のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記カットポイント温度が、350°F〜400°F(176℃〜204℃)である、請求項1〜12のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記カットポイント温度が、350°F〜390°F(176℃〜198℃)である、請求項1〜12のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記カットポイント温度が、350°F〜380°F(176℃〜193℃)である、請求項1〜12のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記カットポイント温度が、351°F〜373°F(177℃〜189℃)である、請求項1〜12のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
