Description
本発明は向上された加水分解安定性を示すエステルベース潤滑剤組成物、及び、エステルベース潤滑剤の加水分解安定性を向上させる方法に関する。
合成及び天然エステルベース潤滑剤は、例えば、自動車及び航空油、冷凍機油、金属工作液、ギヤ油、ターボ油、作動液及び冷凍潤滑剤などを含む多くの用途で使用されている。
本発明は、潤滑剤組成物、及び、エステルベース潤滑剤の加水分解安定性を向上させる方法である。
本発明は、潤滑剤組成物、及び、天然又は合成潤滑剤組成物の加水分解安定性を改良する方法である。
以下の実施例は本発明を例示するが、本発明の範囲を限定することが意図されない。本発明の実施例は、エステル組成物中に特定のPAGブロックコポリマー構造を含ませることが得られる潤滑剤組成物の加水分解安定性を有意に改善することを実証する。
加水分解安定性
加水分解安定性はASTM D2619(作動液の加水分解安定性に関する標準試験(飲料水ボトル法))の変形形態を用いて行った。ASTM D2619は25質量%の水が潤滑剤に添加されるべきであると規定している。本明細書中に含まれるデータの調製では、10質量%のみの水を用いた。要約すると、試験は以下のとおり:90gの潤滑剤組成物のサンプル及び10gの脱イオン水及び銅試験クーポン試料を圧力型飲料水ボトル中でシールする。ボトルを93℃の炉内で48時間くるくると回転させる。油層及び水層は分離し、そしてすべての不溶性材料を計量する。作動液の総酸価(TAN)を試験の前及び後で決定し、そして変化を報告する。
ポリマーの各々の実分子量をASTM D4274−D(ポリウレタン原料を試験するための標準試験法:ポリオールのヒドロキシル価の決定)により、ヒドロキシル含有分を測定することにより決定した。
本開示は以下も開示する。
[1] (a)0.1〜10質量%の1種以上のポリアルキレングリコール(PAG)、及び、
(2)天然エステル、合成エステル及びそれらの組み合わせからなる群より選ばれる1種以上のエステルベースオイル、
を含み、前記1種以上のPAGは分子量が1500〜5000g/モルの範囲にあり、10〜40質量%のエチレンオキシドに由来する単位及び90〜60質量%のプロピレンオキシドに由来する単位を含み、そして、
前記1種以上のPAGはブロックコポリマー、リバースブロックコポリマー又はそれらの組み合わせの形態である、潤滑剤組成物。
[2] 前記1種以上のエステルベースオイルは植物油からなる群より選ばれる1種以上の天然エステルである、先行のいずれか1項記載の潤滑剤組成物。
[3] 前記1種以上のエステルベースオイルはダイズ油、カノーラ油及びヒマワリ油からなる群より選ばれる1種以上の天然エステルである、先行のいずれか1項記載の潤滑剤組成物。
[4] 前記1種以上のエステルベースオイルは0質量%を超え、100質量%までの再生可能資源に由来するエステルを含む、先行のいずれか1項記載の潤滑剤組成物。
[5] 前記1種以上のエステルはポリオールエステル及び重炭酸エステルからなる群より選ばれる1種以上の合成エステルである、先行のいずれか1項記載の潤滑剤組成物。
[6] 酸化防止剤、耐摩耗添加剤及び腐食防止剤からなる群より選ばれる1種以上のものをさらに含む、先行のいずれか1項記載の潤滑剤組成物。
[7] 前記酸化防止剤はフェノール系酸化防止剤、ヒンダードフェノール系酸化防止剤、芳香族アミン酸化防止剤、第二級アミン酸化防止剤、硫化フェノール系酸化防止剤、硫化オレフィン、油溶性銅化合物及びそれらの組み合わせからなる群より選ばれる、[6]記載の潤滑剤組成物。
[8] 前記腐食防止剤は、(1)脂肪族リン酸エステルのアミン塩、(2)アルケニルコハク酸半エステル、(3)ジチオリン酸誘導体と組み合わせたアルキルリン酸のアミン塩、(4)水素化処理ナフテン油中のバリウムジノニルナフタレンスルホネート及びジノニルナフタレンカルボキシレートの組み合わせ、及び、(5)それらの組み合わせからなる群より選ばれる、[6]又は[7]記載の潤滑剤組成物。
[9] 前記耐摩耗添加剤はジアルキルジチオリン酸亜鉛、トリクレジルホスフェート、ジドデシルホスファイト、硫化マッコウクジラ油、硫化テルペン、ジアルキルジチオカルバミン酸亜鉛及びそれらの組み合わせからなる群より選ばれる、[6]〜[8]のいずれか1項に記載の潤滑剤組成物。
[10] 前記1種以上のPAGは各々分子量が1700〜3300g/モルである、先行のいずれか1項記載の潤滑剤組成物。
[11] 前記1種以上のPAGは5〜10質量%の量で存在する、先行のいずれか1項記載の潤滑剤組成物。
[12] 前記1種以上のPAGは20〜40質量%の量のEOに由来する単位を有する、先行のいずれか1項記載の潤滑剤組成物。
[13] (a)エステルベースオイルを提供すること、
(b)前記エステルベースオイルに、0.1〜10質量%の1種以上のPAGを添加すること、ここで、前記1種以上のPAGは分子量が1500〜5000g/モルの範囲にあり、10〜40質量%のエチレンオキシドに由来する単位及び90〜60質量%のプロピレンオキシドに由来する単位を含み、そして、前記1種以上のPAGはブロックコポリマー、リバースブロックコポリマー又はそれらの組み合わせの形態である、及び、
(c)前記1種以上のPAGをブレンドして、潤滑剤組成物を形成すること、
を含む、エステルベース潤滑剤の加水分解安定性を向上させる方法。
[14] 酸化防止剤、耐摩耗添加剤及び腐食防止剤からなる群より選ばれる1種以上の添加剤を前記潤滑剤組成物に添加することをさらに含む、[13]記載の方法。
[15] 前記1種以上のPAGは5〜10質量%の量で添加される、[13]又は[14]記載の方法。
Claims (4)
- (a)0.1〜10質量%の1種以上のポリアルキレングリコール(PAG)、及び、
(b)天然エステル、合成エステル及びそれらの組み合わせからなる群より選ばれる1種以上のエステルベースオイル、
を含み、前記1種以上のPAGは分子量が2500〜3000g/モルの範囲にあり、10〜30質量%のエチレンオキシドに由来する単位及び90〜70質量%のプロピレンオキシドに由来する単位を含み、そして、
前記1種以上のPAGは、開始剤に対してプロピレンオキシドのブロック及びエチレンオキシドのブロックがこの順に付加されている構造を有するブロックコポリマーの形態であり、
前記開始剤はジオールである、潤滑剤組成物。 - 前記1種以上のPAGは5〜10質量%の量で存在する、請求項1記載の潤滑剤組成物。
- 前記1種以上のPAGは20〜30質量%の量のエチレンオキシド(EO)に由来する単位を有する、請求項1又は2記載の潤滑剤組成物。
- (a)エステルベースオイルを提供すること、
(b)前記エステルベースオイルに、0.1〜10質量%の1種以上のポリアルキレングリコール(PAG)を添加すること、ここで、前記1種以上のPAGは分子量が2500〜3000g/モルの範囲にあり、10〜30質量%のエチレンオキシドに由来する単位及び90〜70質量%のプロピレンオキシドに由来する単位を含み、そして、前記1種以上のPAGは、開始剤に対してプロピレンオキシドのブロック及びエチレンオキシドのブロックがこの順に付加されている構造を有するブロックコポリマーの形態であり、前記開始剤はジオールである、及び、
(c)前記1種以上のPAGをブレンドして、潤滑剤組成物を形成すること、
を含む、エステルベース潤滑剤の加水分解安定性を向上させる方法。
