2.EPDM発泡体の製造
表1に示す配合量で、樹脂、加工助剤、顔料、難燃剤、充填材、軟化剤および架橋助剤を配合し、3L加圧ニーダーにて混練し、一次混和物を調製した。
3.物性測定
得られたEPDM発泡体の各物性を、下記に示す方法で測定した。結果を表1に示す。
(1)見掛け密度
JIS K 6767(1999)に準じて測定した。具体的には、各実施例および各比較例のEPDM発泡体のスキン層を除去して、厚み約10mmの試験片を調製した。その後、重量を測定して、単位体積あたりの重量(見掛け密度)を算出した。
(2)50%圧縮荷重値
JIS K 6767(1999)に準じて測定した。具体的には、各実施例および各比較例のEPDM発泡体のスキン層を除去して、厚み約10mmの試験片を調製した。その後、圧縮試験機を用いて、圧縮速度10mm/分で50%圧縮してから10秒後の圧縮荷重値を測定した。
(3)抗張力および伸び率
JIS K 6767(1999)に準じて測定した。具体的には、各実施例および各比較例のEPDM発泡体のスキン層を除去して、厚み約10mmの試験片を調製した。その後、ダンベル1号を用いて、試験片を打ち抜き、測定用サンプルとした。引張り試験機にて、引張り速度500mm/minの速さで測定用サンプルを引張り、測定用サンプルがダンベル形状平行部で切断したときの荷重(抗張力)および伸び率を測定した。
(4)硫黄原子含有量(理論値)
各実施例および各比較例で用いた原料成分における硫黄原子の含有量から、EPDM発泡体における硫黄原子の含有量を算出した。
(5)硫黄原子含有量(蛍光X線測定)
各実施例および各比較例のEPDM発泡体を適当な大きさに切断し、4枚重ねにして蛍光X線測定(XRF)(測定径:30mmφ)を実施した。XRFの装置および条件を下記する。
X線源:縦型Rh管
分析面積:30mmφ
分析元素範囲:B〜U
また、定量は、全検出元素に占める硫黄元素の割合にて算出した。
(6)硫黄S8含有量(GPC測定)
各実施例および各比較例のEPDM発泡体について、ゲルパーミエーションクロマトグラフィー(GPC)の測定結果に基づいて、硫黄S8の含有割合を算出した。手順、条件および装置などを下記する。
EPDM発泡体を細かく裁断して、最大長さの平均値が5mmの試料を作製した。次いで、EPDM発泡体300mgを秤量して、次いで、ホールピペットを用いてTHF(テトラヒドロフラン)10mlを加えて一晩静置した。
別途、硫黄S8をTHFに溶解して、濃度1000μg/mlに調整して、THF溶液を一晩静置した。その後、THF溶液を0.45μmメンブレンフィルターで濾過した。
手順2により作成した検量線に基づく検量線法によって、手順1における試料中の硫黄S8の質量を求めて、これを試料の質量(300mg)で割ることによって、試料における硫黄S8の含有割合を算出した。

注入量:20μl
検出限界:10ppm
(7)平均セル径
各実施例および各比較例のEPDM発泡体について、デジタルマイクロスコープ(VH−8000、キーエンス社製)により、発泡体気泡部の拡大画像を取り込み、画像解析ソフト(Win ROOF、三谷商事社製)を用いて画像解析することにより、平均セル径(μm)を求めた。
(8)吸音性(垂直入射吸音率のピーク値)
図2は、吸音性の評価方法を説明する概略断面図である。
(9)耐熱性(変化率R)
各実施例および各比較例のEPDM発泡体を、140℃で7日間加熱し、その加熱前後における各変化率R、すなわち、50%圧縮荷重値の変化率RCL、垂直入射吸音率RACの変化率、伸び率の変化率REをそれぞれ求めることによって、EPDM発泡体の耐熱性を評価した。
(10)収縮率
各実施例および各比較例のEPDM発泡体を、各辺が5cmの立方体形状に加工し、140℃で7日間加熱して、その加熱前後における寸法の変化、すなわち、任意の一辺(縦辺と定義する。)と、縦辺に連続する任意の一辺(横辺と定義する。)とを選択し、下記式より収縮率を計算した。

- エチレン・プロピレン・ジエンゴムを含有するゴム組成物を発泡させることにより得られ、
前記ゴム組成物が、さらに、キノイド化合物と、有機過酸化物と、架橋助剤とを含有し、
前記キノイド化合物が、p−キノンジオキシムの誘導体であり、
前記架橋助剤が、ポリオールを含有し、
蛍光X線測定の測定結果に基づいて算出される硫黄原子の含有割合が、質量基準で1000ppm以下であり、
140℃で7日間加熱後の50%圧縮荷重値の、加熱前の50%圧縮荷重値に対する変化率が、50%以上、150%以下であり、
前記加熱前の50%圧縮荷重値が、0.1N/cm2以上、2.0N/cm2以下であることを特徴とする、エチレン・プロピレン・ジエンゴム発泡体。 - ゲルパーミエーションクロマトグラフィーの測定結果に基づいて算出される硫黄S8の含有割合が、質量基準で100ppm以下であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のエチレン・プロピレン・ジエンゴム発泡体。
- 見かけ密度が、0.20g/cm3以下であることを特徴とする、請求項1または2に記載のエチレン・プロピレン・ジエンゴム発泡体。
- 平均セル径が、400μm以上であることを特徴とする、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載のエチレン・プロピレン・ジエンゴム発泡体。
- 前記ポリオールが、ポリエチレングリコールであることを特徴とする、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載のエチレン・プロピレン・ジエンゴム発泡体。
- 前記エチレン・プロピレン・ジエンゴムが、長鎖分岐を有することを特徴とする、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載のエチレン・プロピレン・ジエンゴム発泡体。
- 請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載のエチレン・プロピレン・ジエンゴム発泡体と、
前記エチレン・プロピレン・ジエンゴム発泡体の表面に設けられる粘着層と
を備えることを特徴とする、シール材。
