Description
i)ワイヤと;
ii)一連の接続された要素であるチェーンであって、要素は、チェーン全体よりも低い柔軟性を示すとともに、枢動的に、または互いに噛み合うように、または互いに係合するように接続されてチェーンを形成する、チェーンと;
iii)円周方向リブを有する筒状部材と;の群から選択されたものである。
a)熱可塑性材料を含む1つ以上のウェブ材料を提供するステップであって、
ウェブは、xまたはマシン方向、yまたはクロスマシン方向、およびzまたは厚さ方向を示す、ステップと;
b)支持構造により支持された柔軟アンビル要素を有する第1のアンビルと、反作用する第2のアンビルとの間に、ウェブのz方向に対応する間隙を形成するステップであって、
柔軟アンビル要素は、空隙において、アンビル要素支持構造の対応する柔軟性よりも高いz方向柔軟性を示す、ステップと;
c)1つ以上のウェブを間隙に送るステップと;
d)第2のアンビルと柔軟アンビル要素との間のz方向間隙幅または間隙圧力を所定のレベルに設定するステップと;
e)任意選択的に、ウェブにおけるまたはウェブの所定の領域における温度上昇を誘導するエネルギーを提供するステップと;
f)間隙において所定のパターンでウェブを圧縮することで、圧密領域を形成するステップと;を含み、
圧密領域は、ウェブにおいて非球形の楕円状、楕円台状、円筒状、または円錐台状の窪みを示す。
a)熱可塑性、すなわち、融解可能または塑性変形可能な材料を含むウェブを提供するステップであって、ウェブは、xまたはマシン方向、yまたはクロスマシン方向、およびzまたは厚さ方向を示す、ステップ。上記のように、かかるウェブは、単一のウェブまたは複合ウェブであってもよく、繊維および/または膜を含んでもよい。
b)第1のアンビル支持構造により支持された柔軟伸長部材を含む第1のアンビルと、第2のアンビルとの間に、ウェブのz方向に対応する間隙を形成するステップ。柔軟伸長アンビル要素は、空隙領域において、アンビル要素支持構造の対応する柔軟性よりも高いz方向柔軟性を示す。
c)ウェブを間隙に送るステップ。
d)第2のアンビルと柔軟伸長アンビル要素との間のz方向間隙幅または間隙圧力を所定のレベルに設定するステップ。このレベルは、ウェブの特性および結果的に得られるウェブの所望される特性により決定される。
e)任意選択により、ウェブにおけるまたはウェブの所定の領域における温度上昇を誘導するエネルギーを提供するステップ。続く圧縮ステップが材料を加熱するために十分であり得るが、加熱の一部を圧縮と分離することが所望されることがしばしばあり得る。
f)間隙において所定のパターンでウェブを圧縮することにより、1つ以上の圧密領域を形成するステップ。
Claims (12)
- 熱可塑性材料を含むとともに長さ(x)、幅(y)、および厚さ(z)方向を示す1つ以上のウェブの1つ以上の領域を塑性変形により圧密化するための装置であって、
前記装置は、前記装置に対する前記ウェブの移動方向に位置合わせされたxまたはマシン方向と、前記ウェブの幅方向に位置合わせされたyまたはクロスマシン方向とを示し、
前記装置は:
少なくとも前記ウェブの前記領域の温度を上昇させるための1つ以上のエネルギー源であって、少なくとも1つが、超音波エネルギーを放出するエネルギー源と;
エアギャップを形成するとともに、前記ウェブの厚さまたはz方向が間隙幅に位置合わせされるように前記移動するウェブをかかるエアギャップに受けるように適合された第1および第2のアンビルと;
前記エアギャップにおいて前記ウェブに圧力を印加するように適合された間隙幅調節手段と;を含み、
前記装置は、
前記第1のアンビルが:
第1のアンビル支持構造と;
柔軟伸長部材であって、
少なくとも一部分が、前記支持構造の表面上に位置決めされるか、または前記支持構造の表面の溝若しくはスロット内に位置決めされ、
少なくともyおよびz方向において柔軟である、柔軟伸長部材と;
を含んでおり、
前記第1のアンビル支持構造が、前記エアギャップの領域において前記柔軟伸長部材を支持するように適合されており、
前記第1のアンビルが、前記ウェブに直接接触するように適合されていることを特徴とする装置。 - 請求項1に記載の装置において、前記第1のアンビル支持構造は、円筒状のロールであり、前記装置は、さらに、前記エアギャップに対して固定的に位置決めされているとともに、前記エアギャップの領域において、またはかかる領域に隣接して、前記柔軟伸長部材の部分を前記支持構造から持ち上げるように適合されたアンビル要素持ち上げ装置を含むことを特徴とする装置。
- 請求項1又は2に記載の装置において、前記伸長アンビル部材と前記アンビル支持体との間に位置決めされるとともに、前記柔軟伸長部材および前記柔軟要素支持構造の柔軟性よりも高い柔軟性を示すダンパ要素をさらに含むことを特徴とする装置。
- 請求項1乃至3の何れか1項に記載の装置において、前記柔軟伸長部材は、80mm未満のyおよびz方向における外寸を有することを特徴とする装置。
- 請求項1乃至4の何れか1項に記載の装置において、前記柔軟伸長部材の所定の部分をy方向に変位させるように適合された柔軟伸長部材成形手段をさらに含むことを特徴とする装置。
- 請求項1乃至5の何れか1項に記載の装置において、前記第1のアンビルの前記柔軟伸長部材は:
i)ワイヤと;
ii)一連の接続された要素であるチェーンであって、前記要素は、前記チェーン全体よりも低い柔軟性を示すとともに、枢動的に、または互いに噛み合うように、または互いに係合するように接続されて前記チェーンを形成し、選択的に柔軟なコア上に並べられた円筒状または円錐台形の要素を含む、チェーンと;
iii)円周方向リブを有する筒状部材と;
の群から選択されたものであることを特徴とする装置。 - 請求項6に記載の装置において、前記円周方向リブを有する筒状部材が、螺旋ばね、リッツ線、柔軟なコア上に装着されたシムリング、および蛇腹状、波形、フィン付きの柔軟なチューブで構成される群から選択されることを特徴とする装置。
- 請求項7に記載の装置において、前記筒状部材は、円形、楕円形、平坦化された球形、または六角形の断面形状を有するコイルワイヤを含む螺旋ばねであることを特徴とする装置。
- 請求項8に記載の装置において、前記コイルワイヤが、10mm未満の最大外径を有することを特徴とする装置。
- 1つ以上のウェブにおいて複数の圧密領域を形成するための方法において、前記方法は:
a)熱可塑性材料を含む1つ以上のウェブ材料を提供するステップであって、
前記ウェブは、xまたはマシン方向、yまたはクロスマシン方向、およびzまたは厚さ方向を示す、ステップと;
b)支持構造により支持された柔軟アンビル部材を有する第1のアンビルと、反作用する第2のアンビルとの間に、前記ウェブのz方向に対応するエアギャップを形成するステップであって、
前記第1のアンビルは、
第1のアンビル支持構造と;
柔軟アンビル部材であって、
少なくとも一部分が、前記支持構造の表面上に位置決めされるか、または前記支持構造の表面の溝若しくはスロット内に位置決めされ、
少なくともyおよびz方向において柔軟である、柔軟アンビル部材と;
を含んでおり、
前記柔軟アンビル部材は、前記空隙において、前記アンビル部材支持構造の対応する柔軟性よりも高いz方向柔軟性を示す、ステップと;
c)前記1つ以上のウェブを前記エアギャップに連続的に送るステップと;
d)前記第2のアンビルと前記柔軟アンビル部材との間のz方向間隙幅または間隙圧力を所定のレベルに設定するステップと;
e)前記エアギャップにおいて所定のパターンで前記ウェブを圧縮することで、前記圧密領域を形成するステップと;を含み、
前記圧密領域は、前記ウェブにおいて非球形の楕円状、楕円台状、円筒状、または円錐台状の窪みを示すことを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項9に記載の1つ以上のウェブにおいて圧密領域を形成するための方法において、
前記1つ以上のウェブは、基本重量、密度、厚さ、および組成で構成される群から選択された少なくとも1つのウェブ特性の所定の目標値付近で変動を示し、
前記間隙幅または間隙圧力の前記所定のレベルは、前記ウェブ特性の前記所定の目標値に対応するステップd)により設定され、
前記柔軟アンビル部材および/または追加のダンパ要素の前記柔軟性により、前記少なくとも1つのウェブ特性の変動が緩衝され、
前記圧密領域の形状は、前記変動により本質的に影響されないことを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項10に記載の方法において、さらに、
f)前記ウェブにおけるまたは前記ウェブの所定の領域における温度上昇を誘導するエネルギーを提供するステップを含むことを特徴とする方法。
