Description
Claims (13)
- 内燃エンジン(2)の燃料供給システム(1)であって、
主タンクとして構成された第1タンク(3)と、バッファ槽として構成された第2タンク(4)とを備え、上記第1タンク(3)と上記第2タンク(4)とは、燃料ライン(5)を介して互いに接続され、
上記第1および第2タンク(3,4)の間に、第1燃料ポンプ(6)とプレフィルタとして機能する第1燃料フィルタ(7)とが設けられ、一方、上記第2タンク(4)と上記内燃エンジン(2)との間に、第2燃料ポンプ(12)と第2燃料フィルタ(11)とが設けられ、
少なくとも上記第1燃料フィルタ(7)は、燃料の含水量を低減するための水分離器(8)を有しており、
入口側において上記内燃エンジン(2)に接続されかつ出口側において上記第2タンク(4)および上記第1燃料フィルタ(7)の未処理側に開口する第1戻しライン(13)が設けられ、
上記第1戻しライン(13)に、上記内燃エンジン(2)から流れ戻る燃料を上記第1燃料フィルタ(7)および/または上記第2タンク(4)に分配する予熱弁(14)が設けられ、
上記第2タンク(4)は、第2戻しライン(15)を介して上記第1タンク(3)に接続されている
ことを特徴とする燃料供給システム。 - 請求項1において、
温度による燃料の増粘化または上記第1もしくは第2燃料フィルタ(7,11)の詰まりを検知するセンサ装置(16)が設けられている
ことを特徴とする燃料供給システム。 - 請求項2において、
上記センサ装置(16)が、圧力センサおよび/または温度センサを有している
ことを特徴とする燃料供給システム。 - 請求項2または3において、
上記予熱弁(14)および上記センサ装置(16)に通信態様で接続され、上記センサ装置(16)により伝達されるパラメータに応じて上記予熱弁(14)を制御する制御/調整装置(17)が設けられている
ことを特徴とする燃料供給システム。 - 請求項4において、
上記第1タンク(3)に、上記制御/調整装置(17)に通信態様で接続された充填レベル検知装置(19)が設けられている
ことを特徴とする燃料供給システム。 - 請求項1〜5のいずれか1項において、
上記第1タンク(3)に、燃料内に存在する含水量を測定するための水分センサ(18)が設けられている
ことを特徴とする燃料供給システム。 - 請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の燃料供給システム(1)を備えた自動車。
- 請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の燃料供給システム(1)を動作させるための方法であって、
4つの異なる動作モード、すなわち、
通常動作を示す動作モードIと、
燃料の増粘化または上記燃料フィルタ(7,11)の詰まりの危険性が存在する場合の動作モードIIと、
上記内燃エンジン(2)のオーバーヒートの危険性が存在する場合の動作モードIIIと、
上記第1タンク(3)で燃料の積極的な含水量低減を行う動作モードIVとに区別される
ことを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項8において、
上記動作モードIにおいては、上記第1燃料ポンプ(6)が、上記内燃エンジン(2)によって燃焼されるのと同量の燃料のみを輸送する
ことを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項8または9において、
上記燃料供給システム(1)に、温度による燃料の増粘化または上記第1もしくは第2燃料フィルタ(7,11)の詰まりを検知するセンサ装置(16)と、上記予熱弁(14)および上記センサ装置(16)に通信態様で接続され、上記センサ装置(16)により伝達されるパラメータに応じて上記予熱弁(14)を制御する制御/調整装置(17)とが設けられており、
上記動作モードIIにおいては、上記制御/調整装置(17)は、上記センサ装置(16)の対応する信号があった場合に、上記内燃エンジン(2)から流れ戻る燃料の少なくとも大部分が上記第1燃料フィルタ(7)の上流側の上記燃料ライン(5)に導かれ、それにより燃料が加熱されるように上記予熱弁(14)を切り換える
ことを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項8〜10のいずれか1項において、
上記燃料供給システム(1)に、温度による燃料の増粘化または上記第1もしくは第2燃料フィルタ(7,11)の詰まりを検知するセンサ装置(16)と、上記予熱弁(14)および上記センサ装置(16)に通信態様で接続され、上記センサ装置(16)により伝達されるパラメータに応じて上記予熱弁(14)を制御する制御/調整装置(17)とが設けられており、
上記動作モードIIIにおいては、上記制御/調整装置(17)は、上記センサ装置(16)の対応する信号があった場合に、上記内燃エンジン(2)から流れ戻る燃料の少なくとも大部分が上記第2タンク(4)に導かれるように上記予熱弁(14)を切り換え、
上記第1燃料ポンプ(6)が、上記内燃エンジン(2)により燃焼されるよりも多い燃料を上記第1タンク(3)から上記第2タンク(4)へ輸送し、それにより温かい燃料が上記第2戻しライン(15)を介して上記第2タンク(4)から上記第1タンク(3)へ流れ戻り、上記第1タンク(3)で冷たい燃料と混合される
ことを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項8〜11のいずれか1項において、
上記動作モードIVにおいては、上記第1燃料ポンプ(6)が、上記第1タンク(3)から上記第1燃料フィルタ(7)を通して上記第2タンク(4)へ燃料を輸送し、
上記内燃エンジン(2)の運転状態に応じて、上記第1燃料フィルタ(7)で含水量が低減された燃料は、もっぱら上記内燃エンジン(2)に供給されるか、または少なくとも一部が上記第2戻しライン(15)を介して上記第2タンク(4)から上記第1タンク(3)へ流れ戻って該第1タンク(3)で燃料と混合される
ことを特徴とする方法。 - 請求項12において、
上記燃料供給システム(1)に、温度による燃料の増粘化または上記第1もしくは第2燃料フィルタ(7,11)の詰まりを検知するセンサ装置(16)と、上記予熱弁(14)および上記センサ装置(16)に通信態様で接続され、上記センサ装置(16)により伝達されるパラメータに応じて上記予熱弁(14)を制御する制御/調整装置(17)とが設けられ、
上記第1タンク(3)に、燃料内に存在する含水量を測定するための水分センサ(18)と、上記制御/調整装置(17)に通信態様で接続された充填レベル検知装置(19)とが設けられており、
上記動作モードIVにおいては、燃料の含水量低減は、上記水分センサ(18)が所定の含水量を測定するまで実行され、
上記動作モードIVにおいては、燃料の含水量低減は、上記第1タンク(3)が燃料で満たされていることを上記充填レベル検知装置(19)が検知している間は促進される
ことを特徴とする方法。
