Description
一側端部に電極端子が形成されている板状の電池セルが2つ以上積層されており、電極端子が位置する面の幅が、両面の幅及び高さよりも相対的に小さい直方体構造を有する電池セル積層体と、
前記電池セル積層体の6面のうち相対的に大きい面積の両面及び電極端子が位置する面の対向面を取り囲むように折れ曲がっており、充放電時に電池セルから発生した熱を放出する熱伝導性素材からなる第1モジュールケースと、
前記電池セル積層体において前記両面に隣接する側面及び電極端子が位置する面を取り囲むように折れ曲がっており、前記第1モジュールケースと締結され、電池セルの電極端子が外部に突出するための貫通溝が形成されており、電気絶縁性素材からなる第2モジュールケースと、
を含んでいる構造からなっている。

Claims (23)
- 一側端部に電極端子が形成されている板状の電池セルが2つ以上積層されており、電極端子が位置する面の幅が、両面の幅及び高さよりも相対的に小さい直方体構造を有する電池セル積層体と、
前記電池セル積層体の6面のうち相対的に大きい面積の両面及び電極端子が位置する面の対向面を取り囲むように折れ曲がっており、充放電時に電池セルから発生した熱を放出する熱伝導性素材からなる第1モジュールケースと、
前記電池セル積層体において前記両面に隣接する側面及び電極端子が位置する面を取り囲むように折れ曲がっており、前記第1モジュールケースと締結され、電池セルの電極端子が外部に突出するための貫通溝が形成されており、電気絶縁性素材からなる第2モジュールケースと、
を含んでおり、
前記板状の電池セルは、樹脂層と金属層を含むラミネートシートの電池ケースに、正極、負極、及び前記正極と負極との間に介在した分離膜の構造の電極組立体を装着した後、収納部の外周面を熱融着したパウチ型電池セルであることを特徴とする、電池モジュール。 - 前記板状の電池セルはリチウム二次電池であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電池モジュール。
- 前記電池セルは並列接続されていることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電池モジュール。
- 前記電池セル積層体において、各電池セル間の界面に軟質の弾性材質のパッドがさらに介在していることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電池モジュール。
- 前記パッドはポリウレタン素材またはシリコン素材であることを特徴とする、請求項4に記載の電池モジュール。
- 前記第1モジュールケースは熱伝導性金属板材からなることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電池モジュール。
- 前記第2モジュールケースはプラスチック素材からなることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電池モジュール。
- 前記第2モジュールケースにおいて電池セル積層体の電極端子が位置する面には、前記電極端子が電気的に接続される外部入出力端子が形成されていることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電池モジュール。
- 前記外部入出力端子は2つのターミナルボルト(terminal bolt)であることを特徴とする、請求項9に記載の電池モジュール。
- 前記ターミナルボルトに対して電池セルの電極端子を電気的に接続するためのバスバーが、第2モジュールケース上にさらに装着されていることを特徴とする、請求項10に記載の電池モジュール。
- 前記バスバーは‘I’字状のバスバーであることを特徴とする、請求項11に記載の電池モジュール。
- 前記バスバーは、ターミナルボルトに装着されるための貫通口が形成されているヘッドと、前記ヘッドから延びている板状の本体とからなることを特徴とする、請求項12に記載の電池モジュール。
- 前記バスバーは、電池セル積層体の電極端子が位置する第2モジュールケースの面に載置された状態でターミナルボルトに締め付けられて、電極端子と電気的に結合されることを特徴とする、請求項13に記載の電池モジュール。
- 前記バスバーと電極端子との結合は、上向きに突出した電極端子を直角に折り曲げてバスバーの板状の本体に接触させた後、達成されることを特徴とする、請求項14に記載の電池モジュール。
- 前記第1モジュールケースと第2モジュールケースとは締り嵌め(interference fit)により締結されることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電池モジュール。
- 前記第1モジュールケースの両面のそれぞれの4個の辺のうち第2モジュールケースと接触される3個の辺に形成された段差部と、
前記第2モジュールケースの第1モジュールケースと接触される3個の辺の内部に形成された突起部と、
を含んでいることを特徴とする、請求項16に記載の電池モジュール。 - 前記電池セル積層体と第1モジュールケースとの界面には熱伝導媒体が介在していることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の電池モジュール。
- 前記熱伝導媒体は、放熱グリース(thermally conductive grease)、放熱エポキシ系接着剤(thermally conductive epoxy-based bond)、放熱シリコンパッド(thermally conductive silicone pad)、放熱接着テープ(thermally conductive adhesive tape)及び黒鉛シート(graphite sheet)からなる群から選択される1つ以上であることを特徴と
する、請求項18に記載の電池モジュール。 - 請求項1に記載の電池モジュールが1つ以上パックケースに装着されていることを特徴とする、電池パック。
- 請求項20に記載の電池パックを電源として含むことを特徴とする、デバイス。
- 前記デバイスは、電気自動車、ハイブリッド電気自動車、プラグインハイブリッド電気自動車または電力貯蔵装置であることを特徴とする、請求項21に記載のデバイス。
- 前記2つのターミナルボルトは、前記2つのターミナルボルトと前記第2モジュールケースとの間の結合のための追加的な部材なしで、前記第2モジュールケースに装着されることを特徴とする、請求項10に記載の電池モジュール。
