まず、第1実施形態に従う有機電界発光表示装置についてより詳細に説明する。図2は、第1実施形態に従う有機電界発光表示装置を示す断面図である。
次に、第2実施形態に従う有機電界発光表示装置についてより詳細に説明する。図11は、第2実施形態に従う有機電界発光表示装置の概略的な断面図である。図11の有機電界発光表示装置は、シリコン系列の無機膜が上部封止層の上にさらに形成されたという点を除いては、図2の有機電界発光表示装置と類似している。したがって、反復的な説明は省略する。
Claims (12)
- 薄膜トランジスタが形成された基板の上に順次に形成された第1電極、発光層を含む有機層、及び第2電極で構成された有機発光素子と、
前記有機発光素子が形成された前記基板の上に位置する酸化アルミニウム系列の物質で構成された単一膜で形成された上部封止層と、を含み、かつ、
前記上部封止層の水蒸気透過率(WVTR:Water Vapor Transmission Rate)が10−2g/m2/day以下であり、前記上部封止層の厚さが20乃至50nmであることを特徴とする有機電界発光表示装置。 - 前記上部封止層の上に位置する接着層と、
前記接着層の上に位置し、前記有機発光素子を封止するバリアフィルムとをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。 - 前記上部封止層は、水素原子をさらに含む請求項1に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記上部封止層に含まれた全ての種類の原子の総個数に対する前記水素原子の含量割合は10%以下であることを特徴とする、請求項3に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記上部封止層のベンディング曲率半径は10mm以下であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記酸化アルミニウム系列の物質におけるAlに対するOの割合は1.4乃至1.6であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記上部封止層の上部面または下部面にシリコン系列の無機膜をさらに含むことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記上部封止層及び前記シリコン系列の無機膜の厚さの和は0.02乃至3μmであることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記バリアフィルムは光等方性フィルムまたは位相差フィルムを含むことを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記バリアフィルムの下部面または上部面に無機膜または有機膜をさらに含むことを特徴とする、請求項2に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記基板はポリイミド系列またはポリカーボネート系列で形成されたことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
- 前記基板の下部にポリエチレンナフタレート(Polyethylene Naphthalate:PEN)、ポリエチレンテレフタレート(Ployethylene Terephthalate:PET)、ポリエチレンエーテルフタレート(polyethylene ether phthalate)、ポリカーボネート(polycarbonate)、ポリアリレート(polyarylate)、ポリエーテルイミド(polyetherimide)、ポリエーテルスルホン酸(polyether sulfonate)、ポリイミド(polyimide)、及びポリアクリレート(polyacrylate)のうちから選択された1つで構成された下部封止層をさらに含むことを特徴とする、請求項11に記載の有機電界発光表示装置。
