Description
Claims (11)
- ワークピース切削用のホールカッタであって、
前記ホールカッタは、木製または金属製のワークピースを切削するように構成され、
前記ホールカッタは、
0.8128mm(0.032インチ)より大きく、0.9652mm(0.038インチ)より小さい壁厚を有する略円筒状の鋸身と、
木製または金属製のワークピースの切削及びチップの発生に関わる複数個の鋸歯を伴い鋸身の一端に設けられた切削エッジと、
を備え、鋸歯の平均鋸歯ピッチが1mm当たり0.1378〜0.2165(3.5〜5.5TPI)の範囲内であり、
鋸身・切削エッジ間の平均鋸歯ピッチ対鋸身厚比が0.1705(インチ換算で110)以上であるホールカッタ。 - 請求項1記載のホールカッタであって、その平均鋸歯ピッチが1mm当たり0.1575〜0.1969(4〜5TPI)の範囲内、平均鋸歯ピッチ対鋸身厚比が0.186(インチ換算で120)以上であるホールカッタ。
- 請求項2記載のホールカッタであって、その平均鋸歯ピッチ対鋸身厚比が0.2015〜0.217(インチ換算で130〜140)の範囲内であるホールカッタ。
- 請求項1記載のホールカッタであって、その鋸身を貫通するよう且つ切削エッジから離隔した位置を占めるようほぼ鋸身の軸方向沿いに設けられた1個又は複数個の軸沿い長孔を有し、切削エッジから鋸身内を通り軸沿い長孔内に(i)入り又は(ii)通るようチップが流れ、鋸身内又は鋸身・ワークピース間対面部内へのチップ蝟集が妨げられるホールカッタ。
- 請求項4記載のホールカッタであって、その切削エッジが、その刃先が刃溝を挟み並ぶよう設けられた複数個の鋸歯を有し、その軸沿い長孔の第1端と切削エッジとの間の軸方向沿い距離即ち第1距離が、3.81mm〜9.525mm(15/100〜3/8インチ)の範囲内であり、第1距離を測る際の基準が、(i)切削エッジに備わる刃溝のうち最も深いもの、又は(ii)切削エッジに備わる鋸歯のうち目立てがされていないものの刃先間に延びる平面である、ホールカッタ。
- 請求項5記載のホールカッタであって、その回転方向が切削エッジでの切削方向であると共に、その軸沿い長孔が、軸方向に沿い切削エッジから更に離れた位置にある第2端と、を有し、第2端の切削方向沿い角度位置が第1端のそれより後方であり、その軸沿い長孔が鋸身の軸に対し鋭角をなす、ホールカッタ。
- 請求項6記載のホールカッタであって、その鋭角が30°以上のホールカッタ。
- 請求項7記載のホールカッタであって、その鋭角が35〜60°の範囲内であるホールカッタ。
- 請求項5記載のホールカッタであって、その回転方向が切削エッジによる切削の方向であると共に、当該切削方向に沿い後方に位置する部分の方が切削エッジから遠くなる傾向の傾斜を呈する斜辺が、その軸沿い長孔の第1端から延びるホールカッタ。
- 請求項9記載のホールカッタであって、その第1端の最大幅が10.16mm(4/10インチ)以上、斜辺の長さが10.16mm(4/10インチ)以上、斜辺の形状が曲線状、直線状又はその組合せであるホールカッタ。
- 請求項10記載のホールカッタであって、その斜辺が鋸身の軸に対し鋭角をなし、その鋭角が35°〜60°の範囲内であるホールカッタ。
