また、前記塵埃・化学物質フィルタはフィルタ材がプリーツ加工された一対の不織布と、これら一対の不織布に挟まれた活性炭とによって構成されることを特徴とする燃料電池車両の吸気装置である。
また、塵埃・化学物質フィルタのフィルタ材をプリーツ加工された一対の不織布と、これら一対の不織布に挟まれた活性炭とによって構成したことにより、塵埃・化学物質フィルタの通気面積を拡大する一方、活性炭により化学物質を分離できる。このため、燃料電池スタックでの発電性能を向上することができる。
また、吸気ダクトの水フィルタより空気の流れ方向上流側の底面に水フィルタで捕捉した水を吸気ダクトの外部に導く傾斜部を設けたことにより、水フィルタで捕捉された水が塵埃・化学物質フィルタ側に流れるのを抑制することができる。

1式に従って発生した水素イオンは電解質膜16に含まれる水分を伴ってアノード極12側からカソード極13側へ電解質膜16中を移動し、また、電子は外部回路を通じてカソード極13に移動する。一方のカソード極13に供給された空気中の酸素分子は、触媒層15において外部回路から供給された電子を受け取って酸素イオンとなり、電解質膜16を移動してきた水素イオンと結合して水となる。図2に“2”で示されるこの反応は、以下の2式で表れる。また、このようにして生成された水分の一部は濃度拡散によりカソード極13からアノード極12へと移動する。なお、アノード極12からの排気をアノード排気、カソード極13からの排気をカソード排気とも記す。

また、塵埃・化学物質フィルタ3のフィルタ材をプリーツ加工された一対の不織布7と、これら一対の不織布7に挟まれた活性炭8とによって構成したことにより、塵埃・化学物質フィルタ3の通気面積を拡大する一方、活性炭8により化学物質を分離できる。このため、燃料電池スタック11での発電性能を向上することができる。
また、吸気ダクト2の水フィルタ4より空気の流れ方向上流側の底面に水フィルタ4で捕捉した水を吸気ダクト2の外部に導く傾斜部10を設けたことにより、水フィルタ4で捕捉された水が塵埃・化学物質フィルタ3側に流れるのを抑制することができる。
なお、本発明の燃料電池車両の吸気装置は、燃料電池車両全般に適用可能であるが、燃料電池スタックの反応のみならず、その冷却のために大容量の空気供給を必要とし、故に吸排気系の通気抵抗低減が求められる空冷式燃料電池スタックに特に有効である。

Claims (5)
- 発電反応に使用する空気を燃料電池スタックに供給する燃料電池車両の吸気装置において、
前記燃料電池スタックに供給される空気の流れ方向の上流側に配置されて前記燃料電池スタックに取り付けられるとともに車体に結合され前記燃料電池スタックに空気を導く吸気ダクトと、
前記燃料電池スタックを挟んで前記吸気ダクトと反対側に配置されて前記燃料電池スタックに取り付けられ前記燃料電池スタックに供給され該燃料電池スタックを通過した空気が排出される空気を導く排気ダクトと、
前記燃料電池スタックから排出される空気の流れ方向下流側で前記排気ダクトに取り付けられ前記吸気ダクトに空気を取り入れるファンと、
前記吸気ダクトが前記車体に結合される部分と重なるとともにフィルタ面が空気の流れ方向に対向し且つ鉛直方向になるように前記吸気ダクト内に配置され前記吸気ダクトを介して前記車体に剛体結合されて主に空気と水とを分離する水フィルタと、
前記吸気ダクト内に前記水フィルタよりも所定距離だけ空気の流れ方向下流側の前記燃料電池スタック側に設けられて空気中の塵埃及び化学物質を除去する塵埃・化学物質フィルタと、を備え
ていることを特徴とする燃料電池車両の吸気装置。 - 前記水フィルタはフィルタ材が撥水加工とプリーツ加工とを施した不織布からなるものであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の燃料電池車両の吸気装置。
- 前記塵埃・化学物質フィルタはフィルタ材がプリーツ加工された一対の不織布と、これら一対の不織布に挟まれた活性炭とによって構成されることを特徴とする請求項1又は請求項2に記載の燃料電池車両の吸気装置。
- 前記吸気ダクトの前記水フィルタより空気の流れ方向上流側の底面に前記水フィルタで補足した水を吸気ダクトの外部に導く傾斜部を設けたことを特徴とする請求項1〜請求項3の何れか一項に記載の燃料電池車両の吸気装置。
- 前記燃料電池スタックは前記空気によって冷却される空冷式燃料電池スタックであることを特徴とする請求項1〜請求項4の何れか一項に記載の燃料電池車両の吸気装置。
