Claims (15)
- 内燃エンジンおよび代替駆動機構を包含するエンジン・システムを動作させる方法であって、
前記内燃エンジンが軸受けジャーナルを有するクランクシャフトおよび前記軸受けジャーナルが中で回転することができる軸受けを包含しており、前記内燃エンジンを燃料供給モードにおける動作と燃料供給停止モードにおける非動作の間において切り換えることと、
前記内燃エンジンが前記燃料供給モードにあるとき、前記内燃エンジンを介して前記クランクシャフトを回転することと、
前記内燃エンジンが前記燃料供給停止モードにあるとき、前記代替駆動機構を動作させることと、
前記内燃エンジンが前記燃料供給停止モードにある間、オイル・ポンプを駆動して前記軸受けジャーナルおよび前記軸受けの潤滑を行なうことを包含することと、
前記代替駆動機構が動作されており、かつ前記内燃エンジンが燃料供給停止モードにあって動作されていないとき、前記軸受けジャーナルと前記軸受けの間において流体潤滑が維持されるように、前記代替駆動機構を介して前記クランクシャフトを恒常的に回転することと、
を包含するエンジン・システムを動作させる方法。 - 前記内燃エンジンが前記燃料供給停止モードにあるとき、前記クランクシャフトを360°より小さい角度にわたって回転することを包含する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記内燃エンジンが前記燃料供給停止モードにあるとき、前記クランクシャフトを恒常的に回転することを包含する、請求項1に記載の方法。

前記代替駆動機構が動作され、かつ前記内燃エンジンが燃料供給停止モードにあって動作されていないときに、前記軸受けジャーナルと前記軸受けの間において流体潤滑が維持されるように、前記クランクシャフトが回転され、前記オイル・ポンプが駆動される、エンジン。 - 前記エンジンは、電気モータを包含するハイブリッド・エンジンであり、前記代替駆動機構は、電気モータおよび前記電気モータに対する機械的な接続を包含する、請求項9に記載のエンジン。
