Description
この際、本項に記載の面状照明装置では、フレキシブルプリント基板の折り曲げ部が、少なくともその先端側に実装部よりも厚みが小さい減厚部を含んでいるため、面状照明装置に、導光板の出射面側に配置される部材が含まれている場合には、その部材の導光板の入光端面側の端部とフレキシブルプリント基板の折り曲げ部との重なりを要因とする部材の位置ずれが発生するおそれを解消または低減し、面状照明装置の組立性を向上させることが可能となる。
(8)(1)〜(7)のいずれか1項に記載の面状照明装置において、前記導光板の外周を覆う枠状のハウジングフレームをさらに備えることを特徴とする面状照明装置。
(9)(1)〜(8)のいずれか1項に記載の面状照明装置において、前記導光板の前記傾斜面は、第1の傾斜面と、該第1の傾斜面よりも勾配が緩やかな第2の傾斜面とを含み、前記フレキシブルプリント基板の前記折り曲げ部は、前記第2の傾斜面に固定されることを特徴とする面状照明装置。
さらに、図示は省略するが、面状照明装置10において、FPC21、41は、その折り曲げ位置fが傾斜面16の開始位置33よりも後方に位置するように、導光板11に配置されるものであってもよい。
さらに、このような切り込み加工部63を、FPC61のLED22の前方に位置する部分を除いた領域に形成したことは、各LED22から出射されて導光板11に入光し、導光板11内を前方に向かって末広がり状に進行する光が、切り込み加工部63にほとんど到達することがなく、したがって、切り込み加工部63からの漏れ光がほとんど発生しない点で、有利なものである。
例えば、FPC21、41、51、61は、導光板11、71の傾斜面16、76、77と対向する部分(例えば、ベースフィルム25及びカバーフィルム23のいずれか一方または両方)に、導光板11の傾斜面16及び導光板71の第1、第2の傾斜面76、77からの漏れ光を吸収するために光吸収部材(例えば、黒色塗料)が塗布されていてもよく、あるいは、傾斜面16、76、77からの漏れ光を有効光として利用するために、光反射部材(例えば、白色塗料)が塗布されていてもよい。
Claims (9)
- 点状光源と、該点状光源が実装されるフレキシブルプリント基板と、前記点状光源が配置される入光端面、及び該入光端面から入光した光を出射面から面状に出射させる出射部を含む導光板と、を備える面状照明装置において、前記導光板は、前記入光端面と前記出射部との間に、傾斜面を有して前記入光端面側から前記出射部側に向かって厚みが漸減する傾斜部を有しており、
前記フレキシブルプリント基板は、前記傾斜面側から前記導光板に配置されるともに、前記点状光源が実装される実装部と、該実装部に対して折り曲げられて前記傾斜部の前記傾斜面に固定手段により固定される折り曲げ部とを有し、該折り曲げ部は、少なくともその先端側に前記実装部よりも厚みが小さい減厚部を含む、ことを特徴とする面状照明装置。 - 前記導光板の前記出射面側に配置される光学シートをさらに含んでおり、前記光学シートは、該光学シートの前記導光板の前記入光端面側の端部が、前記フレキシブルプリント基板の前記減厚部の少なくとも一部に重なるように配置されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の面状照明装置。
- 前記フレキシブルプリント基板の前記折り曲げ部は、その全体が前記減厚部からなることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の面状照明装置。
- 前記フレキシブルプリント基板は、前記実装部と前記折り曲げ部との境界位置が、前記導光板の前記傾斜面の前記入光端面側の傾斜開始位置と一致するように、前記導光板に配置されることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の面状照明装置。
- 前記フレキシブルプリント基板は、前記実装部と前記折り曲げ部との境界位置が、前記導光板の前記傾斜面の前記入光端面側の傾斜開始位置よりも前方に位置するように、前記導光板に配置されることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の面状照明装置。
- 前記フレキシブルプリント基板は、ベースフィルム、該ベースフィルム上に形成される配線層、該配線層上に積層されるカバーフィルムを含み、前記減厚部は、前記ベースフィルムにより構成されていることを特徴とする請求項1から5のいずれか1項に記載の面状照明装置。
- 前記フレキシブルプリント基板は、ベースフィルム、該ベースフィルム上に形成される配線層、該配線層上に積層されるカバーフィルムを含み、前記減厚部は、前記カバーフィルムにより構成されていることを特徴とする請求項1から5のいずれか1項に記載の面状照明装置。
- 前記導光板の外周を覆う枠状のハウジングフレームをさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項1から7のいずれか1項に記載の面状照明装置。
- 前記導光板の前記傾斜面は、第1の傾斜面と、該第1の傾斜面よりも勾配が緩やかな第2の傾斜面とを含み、前記フレキシブルプリント基板の前記折り曲げ部は、前記第2の傾斜面に固定されることを特徴とする請求項1から8のいずれか1項に記載の面状照明装置。
