Claims (13)
- 外部装置を動作させるために必要な電流を供給する電池パックシステムであって、
前記外部装置に電力を供給する、充放電可能な複数の電池セルを有する電池モジュールと、
前記電池モジュールの温度を検出する温度センサと、
前記電池モジュールに充放電パルス電流を供給する補助電力ユニットと、
前記電池モジュールと前記外部装置との間の電気的な接続領域に配置されたスイッチと、
前記電池モジュールが前記スイッチを介して前記外部装置に電気的に接続される前に、前記温度センサによって検出された情報に基づき前記電池モジュールの測定温度(Tbat)が設定温度(Tcrit)よりも低いときには、前記電池モジュールに前記充放電パルス電流が供給されるように前記補助電力ユニットを前記電池モジュールに接続し、前記電池モジュールの前記温度が前記設定温度(Tcrit)に等しくなるか、またはそれより高くなるときには、前記補助電力ユニットを前記電池モジュールから電気的に切り離すとともに、前記スイッチを介して前記電池モジュールを前記外部装置に電気的に接続させるコントローラと、
前記充放電パルス電流を駆動するために、前記電池モジュールと前記補助電力ユニットとの間に配置された双方向コンバータと
を備え、
前記電池モジュールが前記スイッチのON/OFF動作によって前記外部装置と電気的に接続または切断され、
前記補助電力ユニットが低容量の補助電池またはコンデンサであり、前記補助電池の容量が前記電池モジュールの容量の3〜15%である、電池パックシステム。 - 前記電池セルのそれぞれが、板状の2次電池である、請求項1に記載の電池パックシステム。
- 前記板状の2次電池が、カソード/セパレータ/アノード構造を有する電極アセンブリが、樹脂層および金属層を備える積層シートから形成される電池ケース内に取り付けられる構造を有するように形成される、請求項2に記載の電池パックシステム。
- 前記設定温度(Tcrit)が、-5℃から10℃の温度範囲に設定される、請求項1に記載の電池パックシステム。
- 前記充放電パルス電流が、同一の充放電レートを有するパルス波電流である、請求項1に記載の電池パックシステム。
- 前記パルス波電流が、矩形波タイプのパルス波電流または正弦波タイプのパルス波電流である、請求項5に記載の電池パックシステム。
- 前記充放電パルス電流が、前記電池モジュールを構成する各電池セルの1/3Cから5Cのレートで、2〜30秒間供給される、請求項1に記載の電池パックシステム。
- 電源として、請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載の電池パックシステムを備える装置。
- 電動車両、ハイブリッド電動車両、またはプラグインハイブリッド電動車両である、請求項8に記載の装置。
- 請求項1から7のいずれか一項に記載の電池パックシステムの動作方法であって、
(a)電池モジュールが外部装置に電気的に接続される前に、前記電池モジュールの温度を測定するステップと、
(b)前記電池モジュールの測定温度(Tbat)が設定温度(Tcrit)よりも低い場合には、充放電パルス電流が前記電池モジュールに供給されるように補助電力ユニットを前記電池モジュールに接続するステップと、
(c)前記充放電パルス電流の前記電池モジュールへの供給によって、前記電池モジュールの前記温度を上昇させるステップと、
(d)前記電池モジュールの前記温度が前記設定温度(Tcrit)と等しいか、または高い場合には、前記補助電力ユニットを前記電池モジュールから電気的に切り離すとともに、前記スイッチを介して前記電池モジュールを電気的に前記外部装置に接続するステップと
を含む動作方法。 - ステップ(a)もしくはステップ(b)の前に、またはステップ(e)の後に、前記補助電力ユニットを充電するステップをさらに含む、請求項10に記載の動作方法。
- 前記電池モジュールの前記温度を前記設定温度(Tcrit)の範囲に上昇させるために、前記電池モジュールが前記外部装置に接続される直前に前記ステップの各々が実行される、請求項10に記載の動作方法。
- 前記外部装置が停止(OFF)している状態で、前記電池モジュールの前記温度を前記設定温度(Tcrit)以上に維持するために、前記電池モジュールの前記温度が監視され続けている間に、前記ステップの各々が繰り返し実行される、請求項10に記載の動作方法。
