Description
「膜システム」とは、逆浸透システム及び/又はナノろ過システム及び/又は電気透析システム及び/又は膜蒸留システム及び/又は電気脱イオン化システム又はそれらの組み合わせを含む膜システムを指す。当業者に周知の、例えば、特定の種類の組み合わせの膜;供給水流;濃縮水流;浸透水流;水流の移転を促進する1つ以上の装置;それらの組み合わせ;多様な膜システムの成分が、当業者に周知であろう他のシステム成分の他にも存在する。分離/ろ過されるべき目的の水流は、各種の源からのものであることができ、及び当業者は、特定の膜システムにより、目的の水流に対して、その成分への所望の分離/ろ過を行い得るかを周知している。
AA:アクリル酸。
AMPS:2−メチルプロピルスルホン酸2−アクリルアミド。
RO:逆浸透。
逆浸透システム:少なくとも1つの逆浸透膜を含む膜システム。
NF:ナノろ過。
ナノろ過システム:少なくとも1つのナノろ過膜を含む膜システム。
ED:電気透析又は逆電気透析。
電気透析システム:電気透析又は逆電気透析を行い得る少なくとも1つの装置を含む膜システム。
MD:膜蒸留。
膜蒸留システム:少なくとも1つの膜蒸留を行い得る装置を含む膜。
EDI:電気脱イオン化。
EDIシステム:少なくとも1つの電気脱イオン化を行い得る装置を含む膜システム。
1)濁度の観察による瓶(ジャー)中のカルシウム炭酸塩沈殿の阻害;
2)らせん状に巻かれたRO膜中の流束損失の阻害。
以下の実施例中の全ての生成物の用量は活性重合体固体に基づく。
a)鉄非存在下、25℃
ジャーテストでは、誘導時間[溶液濁度が2NTU(比濁分析的濁度単位:Nephelometric Turbidity Unit)以上に上昇してからの経過時間として定義される]が異なる非リン抗スケール剤製剤について、観察された。以下の図1は、生成物A(AA−AMPS共重合体、80:20モル比のAA:AMPS、分子量20,000Da)が望まれる2時間の誘導時間を達成するのに、たった0.47ppmの濃度ですむことを示し、一方アクリルアミド−アクリル酸共重合体を主成分とする生成物(生成物B、C及びD)は同じ誘導時間を達成するためにより高い用量を要したことを示している。
図2に示されるように、生成物Aは0.5ppm及び1ppmの両方の濃度のFe3+の存在下で、2時間にわたる安定した濁度で示されるようにカルシウム炭酸塩結晶生成を制御した。Fe3+の存在下では、Fe3+粒子に起因して初期濁度は高いが、この試験の目的は、カルシウム炭酸塩形成に由来する経時的な濁度の更なる上昇を見出すことである。
図3に示されるように、0.47ppmの生成物Aは、より低温である12℃及び環境温度である25℃の両方で2時間の誘導時間を可能にした一方、生成物B及び生成物Dは12℃において0.88ppmを必要としたが、生成物Aが12℃で作用した場合と同濃度ではあるが、生成物Dの25℃での誘導時間は単に70分であった。
生成物Aのカルシウム炭酸塩スケール阻害に関する有効性を測定するために、各段階において3つの2.5インチ×21インチのエレメントが直列に接続されている2段階の逆浸透(RO)システム(即ち、合計6エレメント)が用いられた。第一段階の濃縮物が第二段階の供給水として接続されている。両段階からの最終濃縮物及び浸透物の両方が供給水タンクにリサイクルされた。
Claims (2)
- 膜システムを通過する供給水流からのスケール形成及び堆積の阻害方法であって:
a)供給水流のpHを7.0〜8.2の範囲に制御するステップ;
b)膜システムが逆浸透システム、ナノろ過システム、電気透析システム、電気脱イオン化システム又はこれらの組み合わせであるときに、随意に供給水流の温度を5℃〜40℃の範囲に制御するステップ;
c)膜システムが膜蒸留システムであるときに、随意に供給水流の温度を40℃〜80℃の範囲に制御するステップ;及び
d)供給水流に、リンを含有せず、且つAAとAMPSのモル比が80:20、重量平均分子量が100,000であるAA−AMPS共重合体を含むスケール阻害剤を加えるステップ、
を含む方法。 - 膜システムを通過する供給水流からのカルシウム炭酸塩スケール形成及び堆積を阻害する方法であって:
a)供給水流のpHを7.0〜8.2の範囲に制御するステップ;
b)膜システムが逆浸透システム、ナノろ過システム、電気透析システム、電気脱イオン化システム又はこれらの組み合わせであるときに、随意に供給水流の温度を5℃〜40℃の範囲に制御するステップ;
c)膜システムが膜蒸留システムであるときに、随意に供給水流の温度を40℃〜80℃の範囲に制御するステップ;及び
d)供給水流に、リンを含有せず、且つAAとAMPSのモル比が80:20、重量平均分子量が100,000であるAA−AMPS共重合体を含むスケール阻害剤を加えるステップ、
を含む方法。
