Description
Claims (18)
- 複数の燃焼室を有するエンジンのための排気装置であって、
ハウジングと、
複数の排出物処理装置が互いに平行に配置され、各排出物処理装置が第1のヘッダを貫通した上流端を有する、排出物処理装置の第1のアレイと、
複数の排出物処理装置が互いに平行に配置され、各排出物処理装置が第2のヘッダを貫通した上流端を有し、前記第1のアレイと共に、前記ハウジング内に設けられ、前記第1のアレイに対して軸方向に離間した排出物処理装置の第2のアレイと、
前記燃焼室に連通し、前記第1のアレイを含む第1の排気通路と、
前記燃焼室に連通し、前記第2のアレイを含み、かつ、前
記第1のアレイを迂回するように前記ハウジング内で延びている導管を有し、この導管は、前記第1のヘッダを貫通している上流端を有する、第2の排気通路と、
前記第1の排気通路を通って流れる排気を制限する第1の弁と、
前記第2の排気通路を通って流れる排気を制限する第2の弁と、
を具備する排気装置。 - 前記第1の排気通路は、前記第2のアレイを迂回するように前記ハウジング内で延びている導管を有し、この導管は、前記第2のヘッダを貫通している上流端を有する、請求項1に記載の排気装置。
- 前記第1の弁の下流かつ前記第1のアレイの上流で、前記第1の排気通路に配置された第1の燃焼部をさらに具備する、請求項2に記載の排気装置。
- 前記第2の弁の下流かつ前記第2のアレイの上流で、前記第2の排気通路に配置された第2の燃焼部をさらに具備する、請求項3に記載の排気装置。
- 前記第1の排気通路の前記導管は、前記第2のアレイと平行に延びている、請求項2に記載の排気装置。
- 前記第2の排気通路の前記導管は、前記第1のアレイと平行に延びている、請求項5に記載の排気装置。
- 前記第1の排気通路の前記導管の上流端は、前記第1のアレイの下流に配置されている、請求項6に記載の排気装置。
- 前記第2の排気通路の前記導管の下流端は、前記第2のアレイの上流に配置されている、請求項7に記載の排気装置。
- 前記第2のアレイの下流に配置され、前記第1及び第2のアレイから軸方向に離間され、複数の排出物処理装置が互いに平行に配置された排出物処理装置の第3のアレイをさらに具備し、前記第3のアレイの上流端が、前記第1及び第2のアレイの両方を通り抜ける排気を受け取る、請求項1に記載の排気装置。
- 前記第3のアレイを迂回する第3の排気通路と、前記第3の排気通路を通る排気の流れを制限する第3の弁とをさらに具備する、請求項9に記載の排気装置。
- 前記第1のアレイは、前記第2のアレイよりも多く前記排出物処理装置を含む、請求項1に記載の排気装置。
- 前記第1のアレイの出口と、前記第2の排気通路の出口とは、前記第2のアレイの入口側に設けられ、
排気の一部は、前記第1のアレイの複数の排出物処理装置の少なくとも1つと、前記第2のアレイの複数の排出物処理装置の少なくとも1つを通る、請求項1に記載の排気装置。 - 前記第1及び第2のアレイの下流に配置され、これら第1及び第2のアレイから軸方向に離間され、複数の排出物処理装置が平行に配置された排出物処理装置の第3のアレイをさらに具備し、
この第3のアレイの複数の排出物処理装置の各々は、第3のヘッダを貫通した上流端を有し、また、
この排気装置は、前記第3のヘッダを貫通した上流端を備えた更なる導管を有し、
前記排気の一部は、前記排出物処理装置の第2並びに第3のアレイを迂回するように流れ、また、前記排気の一部は、前記第1ないし第3のアレイの各々の少なくとも1つの排出物処理装置を通るように流れる、請求項12に記載の排気装置。 - 前記第2の弁は、前記第2の通路の導管内に配置されている請求項1に記載の排気装置。
- 前記第1の弁は、前記第1の排気通路の導管内に配置されている請求項2に記載の排気装置。
- 前記第1のアレイの前記排出物処理装置と、前記第2のアレイの前記排出物処理装置とは、同じ形式である請求項1に記載の排気装置。
- 前記第1の弁は、前記ハウジングに入る排気の質量流量に基づいて開閉するように制御される請求項1に記載の排気装置。
- 前記第1の弁は、エンジンからの排気の質量流量が最小値になったときに、閉じられる請求項17に記載された排気装置。
