Description
本願は、引用によりその全内容を援用する2010年4月28日に出願された米国仮出願第61/328,685号の利益を主張する。
発明の分野
本発明は、フォームボードの厚さを増加させるために互いに積層された2つ以上のポリマーフォームボードを含む積層ポリマーフォームボード物品及びかかる積層フォームボード物品の製造方法に関する。
「及び/又は」は、「及び、又は代わりとして」を意味する。特に断らない限り、全ての範囲は端点を含む。
以下の比較例および実施例の各々は、ポリマーフォームボードとしてスタイロフォーム(STYROFOAM)(登録商標)フロアメイト(FLOORMATE)(登録商標)200−Aブランド押出ポリスチレン断熱材(スタイロフォームとフロアメイトはザ・ダウ・ケミカル・カンパニー(The Dow Chemical Company)の商標である)を使用して作製した。このポリマーフォームボードは厚さ80mm、幅600mm及び長さ1200mmである。拡散開放接着剤としてMOR−AD(登録商標)660Mブランドのワンコンポーネント接着剤(MOR−ADはRohm and Haas Chemicals LLCの商標である)を使用した。以下で各試料について記載するように約120グラム毎平方メートルの塗布量で接着剤を適用した。ボードを接着した後、最適に接着するように加圧下で12時間硬化させた。
各得られた積層フォーム物品を、EN12090の手順を用いて、押出(長さ)及び横(幅)の寸法の両方における剪断強さと剪断弾性率について試験した。得られた積層フォーム物品を、EN 1607の手順に従って、引張強さ及び引張弾性率を試験した。引張試験は、ボードの隣り合う表面に垂直に、嵌合する表面の界面に垂直に力を加えることによって行った。最後に、EN12086の手順に従って、厚さ寸法でフォーム(垂直積層界面に)を通して水蒸気拡散抵抗係数(μ)を測定した。
試料についての説明は、フォーム物品では、剪断弾性率、剪断強さ、引張弾性率、引張強さ及び水蒸気拡散抵抗係数(μ)の試験結果を含む表とともに以下にある。
両接着面にスキンを有する3つのポリマーフォームボードを接着して積層フォーム物品Comp Ex Aを作製した。これらのボードを接着して1つにする前に接着面の各対のうちの一方の表面全体に接着剤を適用した、得られた積層ボードComp Ex Aは、240mmの全厚を有していた。
接着面から表面スキンをかんな掛けした後に3つのポリマーフォームボードを接着して積層フォーム物品Comp Ex Bを作製した。これらのボードを接着して1つにする前に接着面の各対のうちの一方の表面全体に接着剤を適用した。得られた積層ボードComp Ex Bは220mmの全厚を有していた。
接着面のうちの一つから表面スキンをかんな掛けし、かんな掛けされた表面を表面スキンを含む表面に接着した後に3つのポリマーフォームボードを接着して積層フォーム物品Comp Ex Cを作製した。これらのボードを接着して1つにする前に接着面の各対のうちの一方の表面全体に接着剤を適用した。得られた積層ボードComp Ex Cは220mmの全厚を有していた。
3つのポリマーフォームボードの表面をフライス削りして、各ピークの頂部(台形ピークの2つの平行な辺の短い辺)に表面スキンを残して図5に示したボード500、550及び600に似た6つの嵌合する台形のピーク及び溝を作製した。これらの台形ピークは、およそ次の寸法を有していた:ピーク高さは10mmであり、ピークの頂部は45mmの幅を有し、ピークの底部は55mmの幅を有していた。嵌合する溝はちょうど逆の寸法を有していた。台形のピーク及び溝がフォームボードの全長にわたるようにボードをフライス削りするが、ピーク及び溝が長さ方向の代わりに幅方向に延在する場合にも同様な結果が予測される。得られた積層フォーム物品1500の互いに反対側に位置する端部に15ミリメートルの相互はぎ450が生じるように、図6に示すような嵌合する構成でボード550、550及び600接着した。これらのボードを接着して1つにする前に各ボードのプロファイルの45ミリメートル幅のピークにだけ接着剤を適用した。得られた積層ボード、Ex 1は、220mmの全厚を有していた。

Claims (5)
- フォームを切断することにより規定された嵌合するピーク及び溝の表面プロファイルを有する少なくとも2つのフォームボードを含む積層フォーム物品であって、表面スキンが当該プロファイルの少なくとも一部に残っており、フォームボードが、1つのフォーム表面のピークが隣接するフォーム表面の溝内に嵌合する配向で、フォームの嵌合する表面間にある接着剤により互いに積層しており、積層フォーム物品が200ミリメートルを超える厚さを有する、積層フォーム物品。
- 前記接着剤がDIN4108−3(2001)に従って0.5メートル以下の水蒸気拡散等価空気厚さを有する接着剤である、請求項1に記載の積層フォーム物品。
- さらに、EN12086に従って求めた場合に135未満の水蒸気拡散抵抗係数、長さ寸法で250キロパスカルを超える剪断強さ、及び幅寸法で175キロパスカルを超える剪断強さを有することを特徴とし、ここで剪断強さはEN12090に従って求められる、請求項1又は2に記載の積層フォーム物品。
- a.ピークプロファイルに表面スキンの一部を残しつつフォームを切断することによって、複数のフォームボードの表面に嵌合するピーク及び溝の表面プロファイルを規定する工程、
b.嵌合するピーク及び溝の表面プロファイルを有する表面の少なくとも一部に接着剤を適用する工程、及び
c.1つのボードの表面のピークを他のフォームの表面の溝内に、接着剤がフォーム表面間に存在して両表面と接触するように配置することによって、前記複数のフォームボードの嵌合するピーク及び溝の表面プロファイルを接合して200ミリメートルを超える厚さを有する積層フォーム物品を形成する工程、
を含む、フォームボードの積層方法。 - 前記接着剤が一液型又は二液型の発泡性接着剤である、請求項4に記載の方法。
