Description
トランスデューサヘッドによる受信媒体への書込の際、トランスデューサヘッドは磁気読出センサを用いて書込位置の上流トラックを読出して、書込動作中に所望のデータトラックが対象となっていることを確実にする。媒体の面密度またはビット密度が増加するにつれ、トランスデューサヘッド上の読出センサと書込磁極との間に一貫したトラックを維持することはますます困難になる。
ここに開示された技術は、記憶媒体上のビット位置にデータを記録する方法を教示している。オンヘッド制御システム回路を含むトランスデューサヘッドが設けられる。オンヘッド制御システム回路を用いて、クロック信号がビット検出基準信号と同期して、記憶媒体上のビット位置と同期した修正されたクロック信号を生成する。次に、オフヘッド電子機器から受信したデータが、修正されたクロック信号を用いて、記憶媒体上のビット位置に記録される。
磁気記憶媒体では、磁気記録層は、独立した磁気素子として作用するランダムなナノメートルスケールの粒子を形成する磁性合金の薄膜を含む。各書込ビットは、多くのこれらのランダムな粒子で構成される。ビットパターン媒体(BPM)では、磁気層はパターン化ビットの規則配列で予めパターン化されており、各パターン化ビットは個々のデータビットを記憶可能である。BPMは、リソグラフィ、イオンミリングなどを含むもののそれらに限定されないさまざまな手順によって、予めパターン化されてもよい。他の記憶媒体タイプも存在し、デジタル記録テープおよびフロッピー(登録商標)ディスクを含む。ここに開示されている技術は、さまざまな磁気媒体記憶タイプに利用可能であってもよい。
Claims (8)
- 記憶媒体上のビット位置に対応する基準信号を検出するよう構成されたオンヘッドビット検出器と、
クロック信号をビット検出基準信号と同期させて、ビット位置と同期した修正されたクロック信号を生成するよう構成されたオンヘッド制御システム回路と、
オフヘッド電子機器から受信したデータを記憶媒体上のビット位置に記録するよう構成されたオンヘッドライタと、
修正されたクロック信号にデータを組込む書込信号を生成し、書込信号をオンヘッドライタに送るよう構成されたオンヘッド書込ドライバとを含む、トランスデューサヘッド。 - 制御システム回路は位相ロックループ回路を含む、請求項1に記載のトランスデューサヘッド。
- オンヘッドビット検出器は波形センサを含む、請求項1に記載のトランスデューサヘッド。
- オンヘッドビット検出器はスピン角運動量センサを含む、請求項1に記載のトランスデューサヘッド。
- オンヘッドビット検出器はトンネル電流センサを含む、請求項1に記載のトランスデューサヘッド。
- トランスデューサヘッドの製造中、オンヘッドビット検出器、オンヘッド制御システム回路、およびオンヘッドライタのうちの1つ以上が、トランスデューサヘッド上の場所に作製される、請求項1に記載のトランスデューサヘッド。
- 修正されたクロック信号は、ローパスフィルタにビット検出基準信号を通すことによって生成されて、DCバイアスを生成し、DCバイアスは高周波発振器に印加されてクロック信号の周波数および位相を変更する、請求項1に記載のトランスデューサヘッド。
- 前記トランスデューサヘッドはさらに、オフヘッド電子機器からのデジタルデータをアナログデータ信号に変換するよう構成されたデータバッファを含み、
オンヘッド書込ドライバはさらに、データバッファからアナログデータ信号を受信し、アナログデータ信号を書込信号に組込むよう構成されている、請求項1に記載のトランスデューサヘッド。
