Description
本発明は、ポリ(ジエチレンアジペート)グリコールから合成され、優れた耐燃料性(特に、アルコール含有燃料に対する耐性)を示すポリウレタン組成物に関する。
脂肪族炭化水素燃料に特徴的に耐性のある高分子量熱可塑性ポリウレタン(もしくはTPU)組成物であって、ここで上記ポリウレタン組成物は、可撓性燃料容器の構造において脂肪族炭化水素燃料バリアとして使用するために適合されており、上記ポリウレタンは、非ヒンダードジイソシアネートおよび脂肪族鎖伸長剤と反応したポリ(ジエチレンアジペート)グリコールの反応生成物である。
例えば、本発明は、以下の項目を提供する。
(項目1)
脂肪族炭化水素燃料に特徴的に耐性のある高分子量熱可塑性ポリウレタンであって、該ポリウレタンは、可撓性燃料容器の構造において脂肪族炭化水素燃料バリアとして使用するために適合されており、該ポリウレタンは、非ヒンダードジイソシアネートおよび脂肪族鎖伸長剤と反応したポリ(ジエチレンアジペート)グリコールの反応生成物を含む、高分子量熱可塑性ポリウレタン。
(項目2)
前記ジイソシアネートは、4,4’−メチレンビス(フェニルイソシアネート)である、項目1に記載の熱可塑性ポリウレタン。
(項目3)
前記鎖伸長剤は、1,4−ブタンジオールである、項目1に記載の熱可塑性ポリウレタン。
(項目4)
前記ジイソシアネートは、前記伸長剤グリコールおよび前記ポリ(ジエチレンアジペート)グリコールと同時に反応させられる、項目3に記載の熱可塑性ポリウレタン。
(項目5)
前記ポリ(ジエチレンアジペート)グリコールに対する前記伸長剤グリコールの量は、約0.1〜約3.0モルである、項目4に記載の熱可塑性ポリウレタン。
(項目6)
前記ジイソシアネートの量は、前記ポリ(ジエチレンアジペート)グリコールおよび前記伸長剤グリコールの各合計1モルあたり、約0.97〜1.02モルであり、前記熱可塑性ポリウレタンの重量平均分子量は、約80,000〜約180,000ダルトンである、項目3に記載の熱可塑性ポリウレタン。
(項目7)
項目1に記載のポリウレタンを含み、可塑剤をさらに含む、熱可塑性ポリウレタン組成物。
(項目8)
前記可塑剤は、ベンジルブチルフタレートである、項目7に記載の組成物。
(項目9)
前記可塑剤は、前記ポリウレタン組成物の重量に基づいて、0.1〜30.0重量%の量で存在する、項目7に記載の組成物。
(項目10)
前記ポリウレタン組成物の重合の間に、可塑剤と混合した項目1に記載のポリウレタンを含む、成形熱可塑性ポリウレタン組成物。
(項目11)
前記ポリウレタン組成物の重合の間に、可塑剤と混合した項目1に記載のポリウレタン組成物から作製された、アルコール含有燃料のための成形熱可塑性ポリウレタン容器。
(項目12)
アルコール含有燃料を保管するための可撓性容器であって、
(a)強化ファブリック;および
(b)該ファブリック上に被覆された少なくとも1つの熱可塑性ポリウレタン組成物;
を含み、
ここで該熱可塑性ポリウレタン組成物は、
(i)ポリ(ジエチレンアジペート)グリコール;
(ii)少なくとも1種のグリコール鎖伸長剤;および
(iii)少なくとも1種のジイソシアネート
の反応によって作製される、
可撓性容器。
(項目13)
前記熱可塑性ポリウレタン組成物は、可塑剤をさらに含む、項目12に記載の可撓性容器。
(項目14)
前記可塑剤は、前記熱可塑性ポリウレタン組成物の約5〜約20重量%のレベルで存在し、前記グリコール鎖伸長剤は、1,4−ブタンジオールである、項目13に記載の可撓性容器。
本発明は、ポリウレタン組成物(これは、ポリ(ジエチレングリコール)アジペートから合成され、非ヒンダードジイソシアネートおよび脂肪族鎖伸長剤と反応させられて、上記ポリマーを形成する)に関する。上記ポリウレタン組成物は、優れた耐燃料性(特に、アルコール含有燃料に対する耐性)を示す。上記組成物は、可塑化され得、強化ファブリックの携帯式可撓性燃料容器の成形において使用され得る。上記可塑化された組成物は、増強された耐燃料性に加えて、よりよい冷温急激回復(snap back)特徴を示す。
本発明に従うポリウレタンポリマーのサンプルを調製し、E85燃料ブレンドでの燃料浸漬試験に供した。その結果を以下の表1に示す。本発明のポリマーとの対比を提供するために、市販のポリウレタン組成物もまた調製し、それらの結果もまた、表1に示す。
予備加熱(70℃)をし、攪拌されている保持タンクに、1000ダルトンの数平均分子量を有する100重量部のポリ(ジエチレンエーテルアジペート)グリコール(PDEEAG;Inolex製のLexorez 1100−110)、ならびに各々0.5重量部のStabilizer 7000F(Raschig)およびIrganox 1010(Ciba)を充填した。第2の予備加熱(50℃)をし、攪拌されている保持タンクに、1,4−ブタンジオール(BDO;Lyondell)を充填した。第3の予備加熱(55℃)をし、攪拌されている保持タンクに、4,4’−メチレンビス(フェニルイソシアネート)(MDI;Bayer)を充填した。
予備加熱(70℃)をし、攪拌されている保持タンクに、1000ダルトンの数平均分子量を有する、100重量部のPDEEAG、23.54重量部のベンジルブチルフタレート(Ferro Corp.製のSanticizer 160)、ならびに各々0.6重量部のStabilizer 7000FおよびIrganox 1010を充填した。第2の予備加熱(50℃)をし、攪拌されている保持タンクに、BDOを充填した。第3の予備加熱(55℃)をし、攪拌されている保持タンクに、MDIを充填した。
予備加熱(70℃)をし、攪拌されている保持タンクに、1000ダルトンの数平均分子量を有する、100重量部のPDEEAG、53.03重量部のベンジルブチルフタレート、ならびに各々0.66重量部のStabilizer 7000FおよびIrganox 1010を充填した。第2の予備加熱(50℃)をし、攪拌されている保持タンクに、BDOを充填した。第3の予備加熱(55℃)をし、攪拌されている保持タンクに、MDIを添加した。
予備加熱(70℃)をし、攪拌されている保持タンクに、1000ダルトンの数平均分子量を有する、100重量部のPDEEAG、ならびに各々0.72重量部のStabilizer 7000FおよびIrganox 1010を充填した。第2の予備加熱(50℃)をし、攪拌されている保持タンクに、BDOを充填した。第3の予備加熱(55℃)をし、攪拌されている保持タンクに、MDIを充填した。
予備加熱(70℃)をし、攪拌されている保持タンクに、1000ダルトンの数平均分子量を有する、100重量部のPDEEAG、31.88重量部のベンジルブチルフタレート、ならびに各々0.8重量部のStabilizer 7000FおよびIrganox 1010を充填した。第2の予備加熱(50℃)をし、攪拌されている保持タンクに、BDOを充填した。第3の予備加熱(55℃)をし、攪拌されている保持タンクに、MDIを充填した。
予備加熱(70℃)をし、攪拌されている保持タンクに、1000ダルトンの数平均分子量を有する、100重量部のPDEEAG、71.81重量部のベンジルブチルフタレート、ならびに各々0.9重量部のStabilizer 7000FおよびIrganox 1010を充填した。第2の予備加熱(50℃)をし、攪拌されている保持タンクに、BDOを充填した。第3の予備加熱(55℃)をし、攪拌されている保持タンクに、MDIを充填した。
これは、ポリ(テトラメチレンエーテル)グリコール、BDO、およびMDIから、上記実施例に記載されるものと類似のプロセスで生成される、市販のポリウレタン組成物である。

Claims (12)
- アルコール含有燃料に特徴的に耐性のある高分子量熱可塑性ポリウレタン組成物であって、該ポリウレタン組成物は、可撓性燃料容器の構造においてアルコール含有燃料バリアとして使用するために適合されており、該ポリウレタン組成物は、(i)非ヒンダードジイソシアネートおよび脂肪族鎖伸長剤と反応したポリ(ジエチレンエーテルアジペート)グリコールの反応生成物を含むポリウレタン、および(ii)可塑剤を含む、高分子量熱可塑性ポリウレタン組成物。
- 前記ジイソシアネートは、4,4’−メチレンビス(フェニルイソシアネート)である、請求項1に記載の熱可塑性ポリウレタン組成物。
- 前記鎖伸長剤は、1,4−ブタンジオールである、請求項1に記載の熱可塑性ポリウレタン組成物。
- 前記ジイソシアネートは、前記伸長剤グリコールおよび前記ポリ(ジエチレンエーテルアジペート)グリコールと同時に反応させられる、請求項3に記載の熱可塑性ポリウレタン組成物。
- 前記ポリ(ジエチレンエーテルアジペート)グリコールに対する前記伸長剤グリコールの量は、該ポリ(ジエチレンエーテルアジペート)グリコールの各モルあたり0.1〜3.0モルである、請求項4に記載の熱可塑性ポリウレタン組成物。
- 前記ジイソシアネートの量は、前記ポリ(ジエチレンエーテルアジペート)グリコールおよび前記伸長剤グリコールの各合計1モルあたり、0.97〜1.02モルであり、前記熱可塑性ポリウレタンの重量平均分子量は、80,000〜180,000ダルトンである、請求項3に記載の熱可塑性ポリウレタン組成物。
- 前記可塑剤は、ベンジルブチルフタレートである、請求項1に記載の熱可塑性ポリウレタン組成物。

- 請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載の熱可塑性ポリウレタン組成物から作製された、アルコール含有燃料のための成形熱可塑性ポリウレタン容器。
- アルコール含有燃料を保管するための可撓性容器であって、
(a)強化ファブリック;および
(b)該ファブリック上に被覆された少なくとも1つの請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載の熱可塑性ポリウレタン組成物;
を含む、
可撓性容器。 - 前記可塑剤は、前記熱可塑性ポリウレタン組成物の5〜20重量%のレベルで存在し、前記グリコール鎖伸長剤は、1,4−ブタンジオールである、請求項11に記載の可撓性容器。
