Description
本発明は、ナノ結晶セルロースを用いて処方した航空機用防氷液及びその適用に関する。
米国連邦航空局(FAA)、カナダ運輸省及び他の国際的な同等の機関により確立された規制は、航空機の翼、プロペラ又は操縦翼面に、霜、氷又は雪が付着した際には、いかなる航空機の離陸も禁止している。規制はまた、運航者が承認済みの除氷又は防氷プログラムを有していない限り、航空機に霜、氷又は雪が付着することを合理的に予測し得る、いかなる時点の離陸も禁止している。
本発明は、凝固点降下剤及びナノ結晶セルロースを含む増粘剤を含む、航空機用防氷組成物を提供する。
本発明について説明する際、本明細書中で定義されていない全ての用語は、それらの一般的な当技術分野で認識されている意味を有する。本明細書中で使用される場合、用語「約」は、プラスマイナス10%の範囲差、又は適切な測定装置若しくは機器の許容誤差の範囲内を指す。
以下の実施例は、本発明の態様をよりよく例示するのに役立つものの、その範囲を限定するものではない。
ナノ結晶セルロース(NCC)を併用した場合及び併用しない場合のヒドロキシエチルセルロース(HEC)の防氷増粘剤としての性能を試験して、ナノ結晶セルロースの添加が、(離陸前の)低剪断速度及び(離陸時の)高剪断速度における増粘性にどのように影響を与えるか確認した。HECの3つの異なる分子量について試験した。結果を以下の表1、2及び3に示す。
カルボキシメチルセルロース(CMC)を増粘剤として使用して、ナノ結晶セルロースを添加した場合及び添加しない場合につき、実施例1と同様の試験を行った。結果を以下の表5に示す。

- a.凝固点降下剤、及び
b.ナノ結晶セルロース及び1つ又は複数の水溶性ポリマー増粘剤を含む増粘剤
を含む航空機用防氷組成物。 - 前記凝固点降下剤がグリコール水溶液である、請求項1に記載の航空機用防氷組成物。
- 前記グリコール水溶液が、前記航空機用防氷組成物の少なくとも40重量%を構成する、請求項2に記載の航空機用防氷組成物。
- 前記グリコール水溶液が、前記航空機用防氷組成物の50〜95重量%を構成する、請求項3に記載の航空機用防氷組成物。
- 前記グリコール水溶液が、エチレングリコール、プロピレングリコール、ジエチレングリコール、トリエチレントリオール及び1,2−プロパンジオールからなる群から選択される、請求項2に記載の航空機用防氷組成物。
