Description
当該知見をもとに、さらに技術を改良し、酸化分解活性のより高い可視光応答光触媒材料を得るために鋭意検討を重ねた結果、酸化チタンへのドーパントとしてタングステンが好適であり、それに組み合わせるべき多電子還元触媒成分として銅及び鉄が好適であることを見出し、本発明に到達した。
さらに、酸化チタンにタングステンを含む金属イオン成分をドープする方法として、水溶液中での加水分解によって酸化チタンを合成する際にドープする方法、気相法で酸化チタンを合成する際にドープする方法、及び、酸化チタン粉末に金属イオン成分を担持した後に熱処理することによってドープする方法のいずれもが有効であることを見出した。
[1] タングステンがドープされてなるタングステンドープ酸化チタン又はタングステンとガリウムとが共ドープされてなるタングステン・ガリウム共ドープ酸化チタンの表面に二価の銅塩及び/又は三価の鉄塩が担持されてなり、
可視光活性を有する光触媒材料。
[2] 前記タングステンドープ酸化チタンにおけるタングステンとチタンとのモル比(W:Ti)が、0.01:1〜0.1:1の範囲内である[1]に記載の光触媒材料。
[3] 前記タングステン・ガリウム共ドープ酸化チタンにおけるタングステンとチタンとのモル比(W:Ti)が、0.01:1〜0.1:1の範囲内であり、タングステンとガリウムとのモル比(W:Ga)が、1:1.5〜1:2.5の範囲内である[1]に記載の光触媒材料。
[4] 前記酸化チタンが、ルチル型の結晶構造を50%以上含む[1]〜[3]のいずれかに記載の光触媒材料。
[5] 前記酸化チタンが、アナターゼ型の結晶構造を50%以上含む[1]〜[3]のいずれかに記載の光触媒材料。
[6] 前記酸化チタンが、ブルッカイト型の結晶構造を50%以上含む[1]〜[3]のいずれかに記載の光触媒材料。
[8] 六価のタングステン塩のみ、あるいは、六価のタングステン塩と三価のガリウム塩とを含み、かつ、60℃以上に加熱された水溶液に、四価のチタン塩を含む溶液を混合させることによってタングステンドープ酸化チタン、又は、タングステン・ガリウム共ドープ酸化チタンを得るドーピング工程と、二価の銅塩及び/又は三価の鉄塩を担持させる金属塩担持工程と、を順次含む[1]〜[6]のいずれかに記載の光触媒材料の製造方法。
[9] 四価のチタン塩を含む溶液が、四塩化チタンの水溶液である[8]に記載の光触媒材料の製造方法。
[10] 揮発性チタン化合物蒸気と揮発性タングステン化合物蒸気を含むガス、又は、揮発性チタン化合物蒸気、揮発性タングステン化合物蒸気及び揮発性ガリウム化合物蒸気を含むガスと、酸化性気体を含むガスとを混合させることによって、タングステンドープ酸化チタン、又は、タングステン・ガリウム共ドープ酸化チタンを得るドーピング工程と、二価の銅塩及び/又は三価の鉄塩を担持させる金属塩担持工程と、を順次含む[1]〜[6]のいずれかに記載の光触媒材料の製造方法。
[11] 前記揮発性チタン化合物が四塩化チタンである[10]に記載の光触媒材料の製造方法。
[12] 酸化チタン粉末に、六価のタングステン塩、又は、六価のタングステン塩と三価のガリウム塩とを担持させ、800〜1000℃で焼成して、タングステンドープ酸化チタン、又は、タングステン・ガリウム共ドープ酸化チタンを得るドーピング工程と、二価の銅塩及び/又は三価の鉄塩を担持させる金属塩担持工程と、を順次含む[1]〜[6]のいずれかに記載の光触媒材料の製造方法。
[13] 前記金属塩担持工程において、前記タングステンドープ酸化チタン、又は、前記タングステン・ガリウム共ドープ酸化チタンと、前記二価の銅塩および/又は前記三価の鉄塩の水溶液を接触させて85〜100℃に加熱する[7]〜[12]のいずれかに記載の光触媒材料の製造方法。
本発明の光触媒材料は、酸化チタンにタングステンがドープされてなるタングステンドープ酸化チタン(以下、「W−ドープ酸化チタン」ということがある)又は酸化チタンにタングステンとガリウムとが共ドープされてなるタングステン・ガリウム共ドープ酸化チタン(以下、「W・Ga共ドープ酸化チタン」ということがある)の表面に二価の銅塩(以下、「銅二価塩」ということがある)及び/又は三価の鉄塩(以下、「鉄三価塩」ということがある)が担持されてなる。そして、可視光活性を有するものである。
ここで、「可視光活性を有する」とは、可視光線の照射下においてその波長領域のいずれかの波長の光を酸化チタン(例えばアナターゼ型)よりも多く吸収し、有機物の酸化分解反応を前記酸化チタンよりも促進することをいう。
一つは、タングステンのドープによって、酸化チタン内に形成される伝導帯下端電位を、適度に正の電位側にシフトさせることである。このことは、例えば、公知の文献(K.Obata et.al.,Chemical Physics,339巻,124−132頁,2007年.)で示されているような手法によって、半導体中の状態密度を計算によって求めることで推定できる。
酸化チタンがルチル型を主成分として含む場合、当該構造は、50%以上であることが好ましく、65%以上であることがより好ましい。アナターゼ型及びブルッカイト型のそれぞれを主成分として含む場合も、上記同様の割合であることが好ましい。
なお、各構造の割合は、X線回折のピーク強度から求めることができる。例えば、ルチル型を主成分とする場合、各種酸化チタンのピーク強度の合計に対するルチル構造に起因するピーク強度の割合を求めればよい。
Wドープ酸化チタンの場合、タングステン(VI)イオンがチタン(IV)イオンのサイトを置換するため正電荷が余ることになる。そのため、正電荷−電子のバランスをとるために、タングステン(V)やタングステン(IV)が生じたり、又は、酸素欠陥が生じたりするものと予想される。これらの構造欠陥は、そもそも想定されたバンド構造から外れるため光の吸収量が不十分になる、あるいは、光励起によって生じた電子と正孔の再結合の原因となり光触媒活性を低下させることが予想される。
そこで、ガリウム(III)イオンが共存していれば、それらのバランスを適正に維持してくれることが期待できる。また、ガリウム(III)のイオン半径は、0.62オングストロームであり、チタン(IV)のイオン半径0.61オングストロームにも近い。従って、ガリウムとタングステンとが共ドープされていることが好ましい。その際のガリウムの添加量は、上述の電荷バランスから、タングステンとガリウムとのモル比(W:Gaモル比)が、1:2が理想の組成となる。従って、W:Gaモル比は、1:2に近いほど好ましく、少なくとも、1:1.5〜1:2.5の範囲内であることが好ましい。より好ましくは、1:1.7〜1:2.3の範囲内であり、さらに好ましくは、1:1.8〜1:2.2の範囲内である。
銅二価塩及び鉄三価塩には、その前駆体そのものの他に担持させる段階で酸化や分解など種々変化したものも含まれる。
本発明の光触媒材料の製造方法は、Wドープ酸化チタン、又は、W・Ga共ドープ酸化チタンを得るドーピング工程と、二価の銅塩及び/又は三価の鉄塩を担持させる金属塩担持工程と、を順次含む。以下、各工程について説明する。
ドーピング工程において、Wドープ酸化チタン、又は、W・Ga共ドープ酸化チタンを製造する方法は特に限定されるわけではないが、本発明者らは、少なくとも、以下に述べる4つの方法(第1〜第4の方法)が有効であることを確認した。
第1の方法は、いわゆるゾル−ゲル法によるWドープ酸化チタン又はW・Ga共ドープ酸化チタンの製造方法である。
Wドープ酸化チタンの合成の際には、六価のタングステン塩(以下、「タングステン六価塩」ということがある)と四価のチタン塩(以下、「チタン四価塩」ということがある)とを含む溶液を混合し、撹拌した後に、加熱や減圧によって溶剤を蒸発除去して固体を得、これを焼成することによって、Wドープ酸化チタンを得る。
さらに、焼成する際の温度は、600〜1200℃とすることが好ましく、900〜1000℃とすることがより好ましい。焼成時間や焼成雰囲気は適宜調整することが好ましい。
第2の方法は、所定温度に加熱されたドーパント溶液に四価のチタン塩を含む溶液を接触混合させることによって、Wドープ酸化チタン又はW・Ga共ドープ酸化チタンを製造する方法である。
具体的には、Wドープ酸化チタンの合成の際には、タングステン六価塩を含む水溶液を60℃以上に加熱しておき、チタン四価塩を含む溶液と混合させることによって得られる。水溶液を60℃以上とすることで、実用的な反応速度が得られる。当該水溶液は、60〜105℃とすることが好ましい。
W・Ga共ドープ酸化チタンの合成も、最初の水溶液に、タングステン六価塩とガリウム三価塩を共存させること以外は、上述の方法と全く同様である。
チタン四価塩としては、四塩化チタン、四塩化チタン水溶液、四臭化チタン、四ブトキシチタン、四ターシャリーブトキシチタン、四エトキシチタン、四フッ化チタン、四ヨウ化チタン、四イソプロポキシチタン、四メトキシチタン、硝酸チタン(IV)、四プロポキシチタンなどが挙げられる。好ましくは、四塩化チタン水溶液、四塩化チタン、四イソプロポキシチタンである。さらに好ましくは、四塩化チタン水溶液である。理由は、入手しやすいこと、安価であること、純度が高いこと、扱いやすいこと、が挙げられる。
第2の方法では、アナターゼを主成分(50%以上)とした酸化チタンや、ルチルを主成分(50%以上)とした酸化チタンが得られることは公知である。また、特許第3524342号公報に示すように、ブルッカイト型酸化チタンを含む酸化チタンを得ることも可能であり、ブルッカイト型酸化チタンを主成分(50%以上)として得ることも可能である。これら本方法によって得られるWドープ酸化チタン又はW・Ga共ドープ酸化チタンの結晶構造については、特に制限はない。
第3の方法は、いわゆる気相法による合成方法である。すなわち、揮発性チタン化合物蒸気と揮発性タングステン化合物蒸気を含むガス、又は、揮発性チタン化合物蒸気、揮発性タングステン化合物蒸気、揮発性ガリウム化合物蒸気を含むガスと、酸化性気体を含むガスとを混合させることによって、Wドープ酸化チタン、又は、W・Ga共ドープ酸化チタンを得る方法である。
揮発性ガリウム化合物としては、特に制限はないが、例えば、三塩化ガリウム、三臭化ガリウム、ガリウム(III)アセチルアセトネート、三フッ化ガリウム、三ヨウ化ガリウムなどが挙げられる。
酸化性気体としては、例えば、酸素、オゾン、二酸化窒素、水蒸気、あるいは、これらの混合ガスが挙げられる。
第4の方法は、酸化チタン粉末の表面に、タングステン六価塩、又は、タングステン六価塩及びガリウム三価塩を担持し、800〜1000℃にて焼成することによって、Wドープ酸化チタン、又は、W・Ga共ドープ酸化チタンを得る方法である。
上記焼成温度が800℃未満であると、焼成を十分に進行させることができず、1000℃を超えると、凝集が生じてしまう。焼成温度は、800〜1000℃が好ましく、900〜980℃がより好ましい。焼成時間や焼成雰囲気は適宜調整される。
担持方法は、一般的に用いられる方法でよく、水又はアルコールなどの溶剤に、タングステン六価塩、あるいは、タングステン六価塩とガリウム三価塩を溶解させ、それに酸化チタン粉末を添加し、金属成分を含む溶液を含浸させた後に、乾固させる方法が例示できる。
金属塩担持工程は、上記方法によって得られた、Wドープ酸化チタン、又は、W・Ga共ドープ酸化チタン表面に、銅二価塩および/又は鉄三過塩を担持する工程である。
また、用いる光源としては、波長380nm〜780nm(好ましくは、400nm〜530nm)の可視光線を含む光線を照射できるものであれば特に制限されず、太陽光線、蛍光灯、ハロゲンランプ、ブラックライト、キセノンランプ、水銀灯、LED、有機ELなどが挙げられる。光源には適宜、紫外線カットフィルターや赤外線カットフィルターを装着させてもよい。
(W・Ga共ドープ酸化チタンの合成)
1gの六塩化タングステン(WCl6、99.9%、Aldrich)を、10mLのエタノール(99.5%、和光純薬工業(株))に溶解させて、タングステン溶液を調製した。
1gの硝酸ガリウム(III)水和物(Ga(NO3)3・xH2O、99.9%、Aldrich)を10mLのエタノール(同上)に溶解させて、ガリウム溶液を調製した。
2mLのアセチルアセトン(min.99.0%、和光純薬工業(株))と15mLのエタノール(同上)を混合し、よく撹拌しながら、5mLの四イソプロポキシチタン(Ti〔OCH(CH3)2〕4、99.999%、Aldrich)を添加し、さらによく撹拌することによって、チタン溶液を調製した。
1gのW・Ga共ドープ酸化チタンに、10gの蒸留水を加え撹拌した。これに、2.7mgの塩化銅(II)・2水和物(CuCl2・2H2O、>99.0%、和光純薬(株))を添加し、撹拌しながら90℃に加温して1時間保持した。この懸濁液をろ別し、固体を蒸留水で洗浄した後に、110℃の乾燥器で乾燥することによって、銅二価塩を担持したW・Ga共ドープ酸化チタンを得た。このときのCuの担持量を誘導プラズマ発光分析((株)島津製作所製ICPS−7500)によって定量したところ、0.03質量%であった。
図1に、得られた銅二価塩担持W・Ga共ドープ酸化チタンの紫外可視拡散反射スペクトルを示す。また、参考として、銅二価塩を担持する前のW・Ga共ドープ酸化チタン及び酸化チタンの紫外可視拡散反射スペクトルも図1に示す。
なお、図1の縦軸は「100−紫外可視拡散反射スペクトルから得られた反射率(%)」の式から得られた値で、光の吸収割合を表す。また、紫外可視拡散反射スペクトルの測定には、(株)島津製作所製UV−2450,ISR240A(積分球付属装置)を使用した。
図1から明らかなように、可視光領域の光吸収は、銅二価塩担持W・Ga共ドープ酸化チタン>W・Ga共ドープ酸化チタン>酸化チタンの順に大きくなっていることがわかる。
得られたサンプルの可視光照射下での光触媒活性を以下の方法で調べた。反応は、気相での2−プロピルアルコール(以下、「IPA」と略す)の分解反応によって評価し、可視光照射時のIPA、アセトン、CO2を定量することで行った。
(W・Ga共ドープ酸化チタンの合成)
W溶液およびGa溶液は、実施例1と同様に調製した。
1.5gの酸化チタン(ルチル型、テイカ(株)製)を、10mLのエタノールに懸濁させた。これに、3.17mLのGa溶液と、2.46mLのW溶液を添加し、30分間撹拌した。その後、エタノール溶媒を蒸発させ、得られた固体をメノウ乳鉢で粉砕し、W・Ga共担持酸化チタン粉末を得た。この固体を、950℃、3時間の焼成を行い、W・Ga共ドープ酸化チタンの粉末を得た。この組成を仕込み量から算出したところ、W0.03Ga0.06Ti0.91O2となる。
実施例1で得られたW・Ga共ドープ酸化チタンを使用して、銅二価塩担持を行わないで、実施例1と同様の方法で、光触媒性能評価を行った。結果を下記表1に示す。QE、K値共に、非常に低い。
ルチル型酸化チタン(テイカ(株)製)に、実施例1に記載した方法で、銅二価塩を担持した酸化チタンを調製した。光触媒性能評価を行った結果を下記表1に示す。QEは比較的高いが、400〜530nm領域の光吸収が非常に小さいため、K値が小さいことがわかる。
Claims (8)
- タングステンとガリウムとが共ドープされてなるタングステン・ガリウム共ドープ酸化チタンの表面に二価の銅塩及び/又は三価の鉄塩が担持されてなり、
前記タングステン・ガリウム共ドープ酸化チタンにおけるタングステンとチタンとのモル比(W:Ti)が、0.01:1〜0.1:1の範囲内であり、
タングステンとガリウムとのモル比(W:Ga)が、1:1.5〜1:2.5の範囲内であり、
酸化チタンが、ルチル型の結晶構造を50%以上含む、
可視光活性を有する光触媒材料。 - 六価のタングステン塩と四価のチタン塩と三価のガリウム塩とを含む混合液を乾固させた後、600〜1200℃で焼成することによって、タングステン・ガリウム共ドープ酸化チタンを得るドーピング工程と、
二価の銅塩及び/又は三価の鉄塩を担持させる金属塩担持工程と、
を順次含む請求項1に記載の光触媒材料の製造方法。 - 六価のタングステン塩と三価のガリウム塩とを含み、かつ、60℃以上に加熱された水溶液に、四価のチタン塩を含む溶液を混合させることによってタングステン・ガリウム共ドープ酸化チタンを得るドーピング工程と、
二価の銅塩及び/又は三価の鉄塩を担持させる金属塩担持工程と、
を順次含む請求項1に記載の光触媒材料の製造方法。 - 四価のチタン塩を含む溶液が、四塩化チタンの水溶液である請求項3に記載の光触媒材料の製造方法。
- 揮発性チタン化合物蒸気、揮発性タングステン化合物蒸気及び揮発性ガリウム化合物蒸気を含むガスと、酸化性気体を含むガスとを混合させることによって、タングステン・ガリウム共ドープ酸化チタンを得るドーピング工程と、
二価の銅塩及び/又は三価の鉄塩を担持させる金属塩担持工程と、
を順次含む請求項1に記載の光触媒材料の製造方法。 - 前記揮発性チタン化合物が四塩化チタンである請求項5に記載の光触媒材料の製造方法。
- 酸化チタン粉末に、六価のタングステン塩と三価のガリウム塩とを担持させ、800〜1000℃で焼成して、タングステン・ガリウム共ドープ酸化チタンを得るドーピング工程と、
二価の銅塩及び/又は三価の鉄塩を担持させる金属塩担持工程と、
を順次含む請求項1に記載の光触媒材料の製造方法。 - 前記金属塩担持工程において、前記タングステン・ガリウム共ドープ酸化チタンと、前記二価の銅塩および/又は前記三価の鉄塩の水溶液を接触させて85〜100℃に加熱する請求項2〜7のいずれか1項に記載の光触媒材料の製造方法。
