Claims (14)
- 触覚的に使用可能にしたゲーム周辺機器であって、
ギター本体とネックとを備えるギターを模擬する本体と、
前記ネック内に配置されユーザからの入力を受信する、第1入力要素であって、前記第1入力要素がタッチスクリーンであり、前記タッチスクリーンを通じてグラフィカルオブジェクトを表示するように構成される、前記第1入力要素と、
前記本体内に配置されたプロセッサであって、ソフトウェアプログラムを実行するホストコンピュータと通信し、前記第1入力要素と結合され、前記ユーザから受信した前記入力を前記ホストコンピュータに通信する、プロセッサと、
前記本体内に配置され前記プロセッサに結合され、前記ソフトウェアプログラムにおいて発生する事象に基づいて発動信号を受信することに応答して、前記本体に触覚的効果を出力する、第1アクチュエータと、
を備えるゲーム周辺機器。 - 前記第1入力要素と結合された感知要素をさらに備え、前記感知要素が、前記ユーザによって選択されている前記第1入力要素の検出に応答して、前記ホストコンピュータに第1センサ信号を出力する、請求項1に記載のゲーム周辺機器。
- 前記本体内に配置された第2アクチュエータをさらに備え、前記第2アクチュエータが、前記ソフトウェアプログラムにおいて発生する対応する事象に応答して第2発動信号を受信するとすぐに、対応する触覚的効果を前記本体に出力する、請求項1に記載のゲーム周辺機器。
- 前記感知要素が、前記ユーザが前記入力要素を選択したことを前記感知要素が検出した後で前記第1入力要素に沿った方向に動いている前記ユーザの指を検出することに応答して前記第1センサ信号を変化させるように構成され、前記変化された第1センサ信号が、それに対応して前記ソフトウェアプログラムを更新し、
前記第1アクチュエータが、前記感知要素が前記入力要素に沿った方向に動いている前記指を検出したことに基づいた、対応する発動信号に応答して、前記触覚的効果を変化させるように構成される、請求項2に記載のゲーム周辺機器。 - 前記第1入力要素と結合された発光デバイスをさらに備え、前記発光デバイスが、前記ホストコンピュータから発光信号を受信するとすぐに光を放出するように構成される、請求項2に記載のゲーム周辺機器。
- 前記第1入力要素がストラムバーを備え、前記第1アクチュエータが前記ストラムバーに前記触覚的効果を出力し、前記ユーザが前記ストラムバーを動かすことへの応答として、前記ユーザが前記触覚的効果を知覚し、
前記第1入力要素がフレットキーを備え、前記第1アクチュエータが前記フレットキーの近位に前記触覚的効果を出力し、前記ユーザが前記フレットキーを選択することへの応答として、前記ユーザが前記触覚的効果を知覚し、

前記第1入力要素がワーミーバーを備え、前記第1アクチュエータが前記ワーミーバーの近位の前記本体に前記触覚的効果を出力し、前記ユーザが前記ワーミーバーを選択することへの応答として、前記ユーザが前記触覚的効果を知覚し、または
前記第1入力要素がワーミーバーを備え、前記第1アクチュエータが前記ワーミーバーに前記触覚的効果を出力し、前記ユーザが前記ワーミーバーを選択することへの応答として、前記ユーザが前記触覚的効果を知覚する、請求項1に記載のゲーム周辺機器。 - 前記第1入力要素がフレットキーを備え、前記第1アクチュエータが前記フレットキーに前記触覚的効果を出力し、前記ユーザが前記フレットキーを選択することへの応答として、前記ユーザが前記触覚的効果を知覚する、
または
前記第1入力要素が弦を備え、前記第1アクチュエータが前記弦に前記触覚的効果を出力し、前記ユーザが前記弦を選択することへの応答として、前記ユーザが前記触覚的効果を知覚する、請求項1に記載のゲーム周辺機器。 - ギター本体とネックとを備えるギターを模擬する本体を有するゲーム周辺機器の作動方法であって、
前記ゲーム周辺機器の前記ネック内に配置されたタッチスクリーンである第1入力要素であって前記タッチスクリーンを通じてグラフィカルオブジェクトを表示するよう構成された前記第1入力要素の選択を、第1感知要素を介して感知し、ソフトウェアプログラムを実行するホストコンピュータに第1センサ信号を送信するステップであって、前記ソフトウェアプログラムが音楽ゲームに対応しており、前記第1センサ信号が前記ユーザから前記音楽ゲームへの入力を表すステップと、
前記ホストコンピュータからの第1発動信号の受信に応答して、第1アクチュエータを介して前記本体に触覚的効果を出力するステップであって、前記第1発動信号が前記音楽ゲームにおける事象に対応しているステップと、
を含む方法。 - 前記第1アクチュエータおよび前記第1入力要素が互いに近接して前記本体内に配置され、前記事象が前記ユーザからの前記入力に応答し、前記第1アクチュエータによって出力される前記触覚的効果が前記ユーザから受信した前記入力に応答するものとして前記ユーザによって知覚される、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記ゲーム周辺機器の前記本体内に配置された第2入力要素の選択を、第2感知要素を介して感知し、第2センサ信号を前記ホストコンピュータに送信し、前記第2センサ信号が前記ユーザから前記音楽ゲームへの第2入力を表すステップをさらに含む、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記ホストコンピュータからの第2発動信号の受信に応答して、第2アクチュエータを介して前記ゲーム周辺機器の前記本体に第2触覚的効果を出力するステップをさらに含み、前記第2発動信号が前記音楽ゲームにおける第2事象に対応している、請求項9または10に記載の方法。
- 前記触覚的効果が前記ユーザからの前記入力に応答して時間と共に変化する、請求項1に記載のゲーム周辺機器。
- 前記触覚的効果の震度が前記ユーザからの前記入力に応答して時間と共に増加する、請求項12に記載のゲーム周辺機器。
- 前記第1アクチュエータおよび前記第1入力要素が互いに近接して前記本体内に配置され、前記事象が前記ユーザからの前記入力に応答し、前記第1アクチュエータによって出力される前記触覚的効果が前記ユーザから受信した前記入力に応答するものとして前記ユーザによって知覚される、請求項1に記載のゲーム周辺機器。
