Description
[1](a)重量平均分子量(Mw)が120,000〜200,000であり、かつ重量平均分子量(Mw)と数平均分子量(Mn)との比が3.0〜10.0であるオレフィン−不飽和カルボン酸共重合体及び/又はオレフィン−不飽和カルボン酸−不飽和カルボン酸エステル共重合体 100質量部、
(b)有機酸又はその金属塩 85〜200質量部、及び
(c)塩基性無機金属化合物
を含有し、上記(c)成分は、上記(a),(b)成分中の酸基を中和するための成分であり、その配合量が上記(a),(b)成分中の酸基に対して30〜130モル%に相当する量である樹脂組成物を含有するゴルフボール用材料であり、このゴルフボール用材料が、コアとこのコアを被覆するカバーとからなるツーピースソリッドゴルフボール、又は、1層以上のコアと該コアを被覆する1層以上の中間層と該中間層を被覆する1層以上のカバーとからなるマルチピースソリッドゴルフボールにおけるカバー材又は中間層材として用いられることを特徴とするゴルフボール用材料。
[2]190℃、2.16kgfの条件下のメルトフローレートが、3.0〜10.0g/10minである[1]記載のゴルフボール用材料。
[3]上記(a)成分の酸含量が15質量%以下である[1]又は[2]記載のゴルフボール用材料。
[4]上記(b)成分の有機酸が、ステアリン酸、ベヘニン酸、オレイン酸及びマレイン酸の群から選ばれる1種又は2種以上である[1]、[2]又は[3]記載のゴルフボール用材料。
[5]上記(b)成分の有機酸金属塩または上記(c)成分の塩基性無機金属化合物の金属イオンが、リチウム、ナトリウム、マグネシウム、アルミニウム、カリウム、カルシウム及び亜鉛の群から選ばれる1種又は2種以上である[1]〜[4]のいずれかに記載のゴルフボール用材料。
[6]上記(a)成分の不飽和カルボン酸が、アクリル酸またはメタクリル酸である[1]〜[5]のいずれかに記載のゴルフボール用材料。
[7]上記[1]〜[6]のいずれか1項に記載のゴルフボール用材料が、単軸押出機、二軸押出機及びこれらの連結型押出機により製造されることを特徴とするゴルフボール用材料の製造方法。
本発明のゴルフボール用材料は、(a)オレフィン−不飽和カルボン酸共重合体及び/又はオレフィン−不飽和カルボン酸−不飽和カルボン酸エステル共重合体と、(b)有機酸又はその金属塩と、(c)塩基性無機金属化合物とからなる樹脂組成物を含有するものである。
(a)成分とは、具体的には、
(a1)重量平均分子量(Mw)が120,000〜200,000であり、かつ重量平均分子量(Mw)と数平均分子量(Mn)との比が3.0〜10.0であるオレフィン−不飽和カルボン酸共重合体及び/又はオレフィン−不飽和カルボン酸−不飽和カルボン酸エステル共重合体
を意味する。
下記のコア配合によるシス−1,4−ポリブタジエンを主成分とするコア材料を用いて、直径37.50mm、質量32.80gのソリッドコアを得た。
シス−1,4−ポリブタジエン 100 質量部
酸化亜鉛 5.0質量部
硫酸バリウム 26.0質量部
老化防止剤 0.1質量部
アクリル酸亜鉛 23.0質量部
架橋剤(有機過酸化物) 1.2質量部
エチレン−アクリル酸2元共重合体、ExxonMobil Chemical社製
Mw「188,000」、Mw/Mn「6.37」
エチレン−メタクリル酸−イソブチレンアクリレート三元共重合体、三井・デュポンポリケミカル社製、酸含量10wt%、Mw「127,000」、Mw/Mn「4.37」
約75〜76質量%のエチレン、約8.5質量%のアクリル酸、及び約15.5〜16.5質量%のn−ブチルアクリレートからなるターポリマーであり、全て(100%)の酸基がマグネシウムイオンにより中和されている。DuPont社製、Mw「105,000」、Mw/Mn「3.72」
商品名「マグネシウムステアレートG」(日油(株)製)
JIS−K7210に準拠し、試験温度190℃、試験荷重21.18N(2.16kgf)条件下での測定値。
23±1℃の温度で、ゴルフボールを鋼板の上に置き、初期荷重98N(10kgf)から終荷重1275N(130kgf)に負荷したときのゴルフボールのたわみ量(mm)。
初速はR&Aの承認する装置であるUSGAのドラム回転式の初速計と同方式の初速測定器を用いて測定した。ボールは23±1℃の温度で3時間以上温調し、同温度で測定した。250ポンド(113.4kg)のヘッド(ストライキングマスク)を使って打撃速度143.8ft/s(43.83m/s)にてボールを打撃した。10個のボールを各々2回打撃して6.28ft(1.91m)の間を通過する時間を計測し、初速を計算した。15分間でこのサイクルを行った。
米国Automated Design Corporation製のADC Ball COR Durability Testerにより、ボールの耐久性(Durability)を評価した。ボールを空気圧で発射させた後、平行に設置した2枚の金属板に連続的に衝突させ、ボールが割れるまでに要した発射回数の平均値を用い、下記の基準に従って耐久性を評価した。
(この場合、平均値とは、同種のボールを4個用意し、それぞれのボールを発射させて4個のボールがそれぞれ割れるまでに要した発射回数を平均化した値である。試験機のタイプは、縦型CORであり、金属板への入射速度を43m/sとした。)

△:100〜150回
×:100回以下
比較例1では、ステアリン酸マグネシウムの配合量が本発明の範囲よりも低い例であり、その結果、実施例1,2と比較すると、ボールの反発性が低下し、耐久性も若干低下した。
比較例2では、分子量が本発明の範囲より低い市販のアイオノマーのみを使用した例であり、その結果、実施例1,2と比較すると、ボールの初速度及び耐久性が低下した。
Claims (7)
- (a)重量平均分子量(Mw)が120,000〜200,000であり、かつ重量平均分子量(Mw)と数平均分子量(Mn)との比が3.0〜10.0であるオレフィン−不飽和カルボン酸共重合体及び/又はオレフィン−不飽和カルボン酸−不飽和カルボン酸エステル共重合体 100質量部、
(b)有機酸又はその金属塩 85〜200質量部、及び
(c)塩基性無機金属化合物
を含有し、上記(c)成分は、上記(a),(b)成分中の酸基を中和するための成分であり、その配合量が上記(a),(b)成分中の酸基に対して30〜130モル%に相当する量である樹脂組成物を含有するゴルフボール用材料であり、このゴルフボール用材料が、コアとこのコアを被覆するカバーとからなるツーピースソリッドゴルフボール、又は、1層以上のコアと該コアを被覆する1層以上の中間層と該中間層を被覆する1層以上のカバーとからなるマルチピースソリッドゴルフボールにおけるカバー材又は中間層材として用いられることを特徴とするゴルフボール用材料。 - 190℃、2.16kgfの条件下のメルトフローレートが、3.0〜10.0g/10minである請求項1記載のゴルフボール用材料。
- 上記(a)成分の酸含量が15質量%以下である請求項1又は2記載のゴルフボール用材料。
- 上記(b)成分の有機酸が、ステアリン酸、ベヘニン酸、オレイン酸及びマレイン酸の群から選ばれる1種又は2種以上である請求項1、2又は3記載のゴルフボール用材料。
- 上記(b)成分の有機酸金属塩または上記(c)成分の塩基性無機金属化合物の金属イオンが、リチウム、ナトリウム、マグネシウム、アルミニウム、カリウム、カルシウム及び亜鉛の群から選ばれる1種又は2種以上である請求項1〜4のいずれか1項記載のゴルフボール用材料。
- 上記(a)成分の不飽和カルボン酸が、アクリル酸またはメタクリル酸である請求項1〜5のいずれか1項記載のゴルフボール用材料。
- 請求項1〜6のいずれか1項記載のゴルフボール用材料が、単軸押出機、二軸押出機及びこれらの連結型押出機により製造されることを特徴とするゴルフボール用材料の製造方法。
