Description
過去においては、発泡体を製造するために広く用いられる物理的発泡剤は、クロロフルオロカーボン及びヒドロクロロフルオロカーボンであった。しかしながら、このような発泡剤を使用することは、それらの高いオゾン層破壊係数(ODP)のために禁止される可能性が高い。これらの発泡剤の幾つかは、ゼロのODPを有するヒドロフルオロカーボン(HFC)に置き換えることができる。しかしながら、HFCは、高い地球温暖化係数(GWP)が付きものである。

Claims (21)
- アルケニル芳香族ポリマー又はアモルファスポリマーである熱可塑性ポリマーを溶融し;
熱可塑性ポリマー中に、発泡剤ブレンドを溶解し、ここで、発泡剤ブレンドは、ギ酸メチル、並びに炭化水素、フッ化メチル、ジフルオロメタン(HFC−32)、トリフルオロメタン(HFC−23)、パーフルオロメタン、クロロジフルオロメタン(HCFC−22)、塩化メチレン、塩化エチル、フッ化エチル、1,2−ジフルオロエタン(HFC−152)、1,1−ジフルオロエタン(HFC−152a)、1,1,1−トリフルオロエタン(HFC−143a)、1,1,2,2−テトラフルオロエタン(HFC−134)、1,1,1,2−テトラフルオロエタン(HFC−134a)、ペンタフルオロエタン(HFC−125)、パーフルオロエタン、1,1−ジクロロ−1−フルオロエタン(HCFC−141 b)、1−クロロ−1,1−ジフルオロエタン(HCFC−142b)、1,1−ジクロロ−2,2,2−トリフルオロエタン(HCFC−123)、1−クロロ−1,2,2,2−テトラフルオロエタン(HCFC−124)、ジフルオロプロパン、1,1,1−トリフルオロプロパン、1,1,1,3,3−ペンタフルオロプロパン(HFC−245fa)、1,1,1,2,3,3−ヘキサフルオロプロパン(HFC−236ea)、1,1,1,2,3,3,3−ヘプタフルオロプロパン(HFC−227ea)、パーフルオロプロパン、2,2,4,4,4−ペンタフルオロブタン(HFC−365mfc)、パーフルオロブタン、パーフルオロシクロブタン、フッ化ビニル、エステル、アセタール、アルカノール、カーボネート、アミン、ケトン、無機薬剤、及び化学的発泡剤からなる群から選択される共発泡剤の少なくとも一つを含み;
押出物を形成し;
熱可塑性ポリマー発泡構造体を生成するために押出物を膨張させる;
工程を含む熱可塑性ポリマー発泡構造体の製造方法。 - 少なくとも一種の共発泡剤が、エタン、プロパン、シクロプロパン、n−ブタン、イソブタン、シクロブタン、ネオペンタン、イソペンタン、二酸化炭素、及び水からなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 少なくとも一種の共発泡剤が、エタン、プロパン、シクロプロパン、n−ブタン、イソブタン、シクロブタン、二酸化炭素、及び水からなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 少なくとも一種の共発泡剤が、エタン、プロパン、シクロプロパン、n−ブタン、イソブタン、シクロブタン、ネオペンタン、イソペンタン、1,1−ジフルオロエタン(HFC−152a)、1,1,1,2−テトラフルオロエタン(HFC−134a)、1,1,1,3,3−ペンタフルオロプロパン(HFC−245fa)、ジメチルエーテル、及びそれらのあらゆる組み合わせからなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 少なくとも一種の共発泡剤が、1,1,1,2−テトラフルオロエタン(HFC−134a)、ネオペンタン、及びイソペンタンからなる群から選択される、請求項4に記載の方法。
- 発泡剤ブレンドが、ギ酸メチル、二酸化炭素、及び任意選択的に水を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 発泡剤ブレンドが、ギ酸メチル及びエタンを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 熱可塑性発泡ポリマー構造体が、0.5インチ(1.27cm)以下の厚さを有する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- ギ酸メチル及び共発泡剤の総量の5モル%〜80モル%のギ酸メチルを含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- ギ酸メチル及び共発泡剤の総量の20モル%〜80モル%のギ酸メチルを含む請求項9に記載の方法。
- アルケニル芳香族ポリマー発泡体がポリスチレンを含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 熱可塑性ポリマー発泡体が1〜15lb/ft3(0.016〜0.240g/cm3)の密度を有する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 押出物が1〜18wt%のギ酸メチル及び共発泡剤を含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 熱可塑性ポリマー発泡構造体が1インチあたり少なくとも20セル(1cmあたり少なくとも8セル)を含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 押出物形成工程の前に、成核剤を熱可塑性ポリマーと混合する工程を更に含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 熱可塑性ポリマー発泡構造体が独立気泡構造体である請求項1に記載の方法。
- 熱可塑性ポリマー発泡構造体が寸法的に安定である請求項1に記載の方法。
