Description

図1は、パッチ・コード106を用いてパッチ・パネル104(“Patch Panel Z”とラベリングされている)に接続されるパッチ・パネル102(“Patch Panel X”とラベリングされている)を含む例示的なパッチ・パネル・システムを示す。ポート108及び110のようなパッチ・パネル102及び104のポートは、パッチ・コードを介して互いの間で接続情報を通信し得る。本願のパッチ・パネルは、平らな形態及び角のある形態の双方において利用可能であり得る。パッチ・パネル102及び104及び/またはパッチ・コード106には、詳細な機能(以下に説明する)を行い得る回路の形態において「知性」が提供され得る。

Claims (10)
- 通信パッチ・パネルであって、
パッチ・パネルの面上に設けられる複数のパッチ・パネル・ポートであって、該複数のパッチ・パネル・ポートの各々は、少なくとも1つの関連の管理コンタクトと、少なくとも1つの関連の表示灯と、を有する前記複数のパッチ・パネル・ポートと、
前記複数のパッチ・パネル・ポートの少なくとも幾つかと関連した回路を収容する少なくとも1つのウイング・ボードであって、該ウイング・ボードの前記回路は、前記パッチ・パネル・ポートの前記管理コンタクト及び前記表示灯とインターフェースする前記少なくとも1つのウイング・ボードと、
前記パッチ・パネルに取り外し可能に装着されるパネル管理モジュールであって、前記パッチ・パネルと接続されるとき、前記少なくとも1つのウイング・ボードとインターフェースし、そして前記管理コンタクトへ信号を送信しかつ前記管理コンタクトから信号を受信して前記表示灯の照明を制御することができる制御回路を含む前記パネル管理モジュールと、
前記パッチ・パネルの前記面においてアクセス可能であるユーザ・インターフェースであって、前記パネル管理モジュールとインターフェースし、それにより、前記パネル管理モジュールの機能は、ユーザによってアクセスされ得る前記ユーザ・インターフェースと、
を含み、
前記パッチ・パネルの前記面においてアクセス可能な供給ポートをさらに備え、そしてパッチ・コード挿入及び除去プロセスの間に供給機能を提供するために、前記パネル管理モジュールとインターフェースする通信パッチ・パネル。 - 前記ユーザ・インターフェースは、複数のボタン及び複数の表示灯を含む請求項1に記載の通信パッチ・パネル。
- 前記パネル管理モジュールは、少なくとも1つのカード・エッジ・コネクタを含み、該少なくとも1つのカード・エッジ・コネクタを通して前記パネル管理モジュールが前記少なくとも1つのウイング・ボードとインターフェースする請求項1に記載の通信パッチ・パネル。
- 前記パネル管理モジュールは、さらに2つの電力ポートを備え、それにより、多数の通信パッチ・パネルと関連した多数のパネル管理モジュールが電力分担のためにデイジィ・チェーン化され得る請求項1に記載の通信パッチ・パネル。
- 前記パネル管理モジュールは、さらに、多数の通信パッチ・パネルのパネル管理モジュール間で管理データ接続をデイジィ・チェーン化するための2つのイーサネット(登録商標)・ポートを備える請求項1に記載の通信パッチ・パネル。
- 第1の通信パッチ・パネルと、第2の通信パッチ・パネルとを備えた通信パッチ・コード管理システムであって、
前記第1の通信パッチ・パネルは、
第1のパッチ・パネルの面上に設けられる複数の第1のパッチ・パネル・ポートであって、該複数のパッチ・パネル・ポートの各々は、少なくとも1つの関連の管理コンタクトと、少なくとも1つの関連の表示灯と、を有する前記複数の第1のパッチ・パネル・ポートと、
前記複数の第1のパッチ・パネル・ポートの少なくとも幾つかと関連した回路を収容する少なくとも1つの第1のパッチ・パネルのウイング・ボードであって、該ウイング・ボードの前記回路は、前記第1のパッチ・パネル・ポートの前記管理コンタクト及び前記表示灯とインターフェースする前記少なくとも1つの第1のパッチ・パネルのウイング・ボードと、
前記第1の通信パッチ・パネルに取り外し可能に装着されるパネル管理モジュールであって、前記パッチ・パネルと接続されるとき、前記少なくとも1つの第1のパッチ・パネルのウイング・ボードとインターフェースし、そして前記管理コンタクトへ信号を送信しかつ前記管理コンタクトから信号を受信して前記第1の通信パッチ・パネル上の前記表示灯の照明を制御することができる制御回路を含む前記パネル管理モジュールと、

前記第2の通信パッチ・パネルは、
第2のパッチ・パネルの面上に設けられる複数の第2のパッチ・パネル・ポートであって、該複数のパッチ・パネル・ポートの各々は、少なくとも1つの関連の管理コンタクトと、少なくとも1つの関連の表示灯と、を有する前記複数の第2のパッチ・パネル・ポートと、

前記第2の通信パッチ・パネルに取り外し可能に装着される周辺拡張管理モジュールであって、前記パネル管理モジュールとインターフェースし、それにより、前記第2の通信パッチ・パネル上の前記管理コンタクト及び前記表示灯は、前記周辺拡張管理モジュール及び前記パネル管理モジュール間で送られる信号と共にアクセスされかつ制御されることができる、前記周辺拡張管理モジュールと、

通信パッチ・コード管理システム。 - 前記パネル管理モジュール及び前記周辺拡張管理モジュールは、RS485接続を介して接続される請求項6に記載の通信パッチ・コード管理システム。
- 前記周辺拡張管理モジュールには、2つのポートが設けられ、それにより、多数の周辺拡張管理モジュールが、前記パネル管理モジュールへの接続のためにデイジィ・チェーン化され得る請求項6に記載の通信パッチ・コード管理システム。
