の関係を満足している。
(kA×tA)/(kR×tR)>1.1 式(III)
の関係を満足していることが好ましい。
kR×tR<7nm 式(II)
の関係を満足していることが好ましい。又、記録膜12Rの厚さtRは、10〜50nmであることが好ましい。
がグルーブである。グルーブは0.1〜0.5μmの範囲のトラックピッチで形成されている。尚、基板18の材料としてはポリカーボネート樹脂、アクリル樹脂、エポキシ樹脂、ポリスチレン樹脂、ポリエチレン樹脂、ポリプロピレン樹脂、シリコーン樹脂、フッ素系樹脂、ABS樹脂、ウレタン樹脂等を用いることができる。情報層12は、基板18の凹凸パターンに倣って凹凸パターンで形成されている。
満たしているので、記録膜12Rと共に光吸収膜12Aも情報層12の光吸収の役割を担う。従って、仮に長期間の保存により記録膜12Rの光吸収量が変化しても情報層12全体の光吸収量の変化は、記録膜だけが主として光吸収の役割を担う情報層よりも小さい。即ち、情報層の光学特性の変化が小さく抑制される。
前記実施例1に対し、光吸収膜12Aを省略した光記録媒体のサンプルKを作製した。サンプルKの情報層の構成を表4に示す。尚、サンプルKの他の構成は実施例1のサンプルA〜Dと同じである。
前記実施例1に対し、光吸収膜12Aの厚さtRを薄くし、(kR×tR)/(kR×tR)が(0.35よりも小さい)0.23であるサンプルLを作製した。サンプルLの情報層の構成を表5に示す。尚、サンプルLの他の構成は実施例1のサンプルA〜Dと同じである。
前記実施例3に対し、光吸収膜の材料として消衰係数kAが(1.5よりも大きい)2.1であるAgPdCu合金を用いたサンプルMを作製した。サンプルMの情報層の構成を表6に示す。尚、サンプルMの他の構成は実施例3のサンプルJと同じである。

Claims (8)
- 記録/再生のために用いられるレーザ光の波長における消衰係数が0.4以下である記録膜を備える情報層を含み、前記記録膜はBi、O及びM(MはFe、Ge、Sb、Mg、Ca、Zr、Nb、Zn、Al、Si、Na、K、Snの中から選択される少なくとも1種の元素)からなり、且つ、該記録膜を構成する総ての原子の数に対するOの原子数の比率が62%以上であり、前記情報層は前記レーザ光の波長における消衰係数が1.5以下であり、且つ、該消衰係数が前記記録膜の消衰係数よりも大きく、全面において前記記録膜に接して設置された光吸収膜を更に備えることを特徴とする光記録媒体。
- 請求項1において、
前記光吸収膜の消衰係数が0.3以上であることを特徴とする光記録媒体。 - 請求項1又は2において、
前記記録膜の消衰係数をkR、前記記録膜の厚さをtR、前記光吸収膜の消衰係数をkA、前記光吸収膜の厚さをtAとして、次の式(I)
(kA×tA)/(kR×tR)>0.35 式(I)
の関係を満足することを特徴とする光記録媒体。 - 請求項1乃至3のいずれかにおいて、
前記光吸収膜のバルク状態における熱伝導率が30W/(mK)以下であることを特徴とする光記録媒体。 - 請求項1乃至4のいずれかにおいて、
前記光吸収膜が酸化物であることを特徴とする光記録媒体。 - 請求項1乃至5のいずれかにおいて、
前記記録膜の消衰係数をkR、前記記録膜の厚さをtRとして、次の式(II)
kR×tR<7nm 式(II)
の関係を満足することを特徴とする光記録媒体。 - 請求項1乃至6のいずれかにおいて、
前記記録/再生のために用いられるレーザ光の波長が375〜435nmであることを特徴とする光記録媒体。 - 請求項1乃至7のいずれかにおいて、
記録マークを形成するためのトラックが0.1〜0.5μmの範囲のトラックピッチで形成されたことを特徴とする光記録媒体。
