Description
Claims (5)
- 所定時間のビットレートが目標ビットレートに収束するように、量子化ステップの変更を含むレート制御を実行しながら、映像データを圧縮する圧縮手段と、該圧縮手段により圧縮された圧縮データを記録媒体に記録する記録手段とを備えた映像記録装置であって、
圧縮開始から現時点までに前記圧縮手段で映像データを圧縮した結果の総ビットレートを算出する総レート算出手段と、前記所定時間又は他の所定時間に前記圧縮手段で映像データを圧縮した結果として得られた符号量を算出する符号量算出手段とを備え、
前記圧縮手段は、前記変更後の量子化ステップが、前記圧縮手段で変更可能となっている上限値より低い所定の上限値を超えないように制限する量子化ステップ制限手段と、前記総レート算出手段で算出された総ビットレートが前記目標ビットレートを上回っていた場合に、量子化ステップを前記所定の上限値に固定する量子化ステップ固定手段とを有し、
前記量子化ステップ固定手段は、前記符号量算出手段で算出された符号量が所定量より少ない場合にも、量子化ステップを前記所定の上限値に固定することを特徴とする映像記録装置。 - 前記圧縮手段は、前記記録媒体の記録可能残量が所定残量を下回ったときに、前記量子化ステップ制限手段による制限を解除することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の映像記録装置。
- 前記圧縮手段は、前記記録媒体の記録可能残量が所定残量を下回ったときに、前記量子化ステップ固定手段による固定を解除することを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の映像記録装置。
- 前記所定の上限値を設定する上限値設定手段を備えることを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の映像記録装置。
- 前記目標ビットレートを設定する目標設定手段を備えることを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか1項に記載の映像記録装置。
