Description
本特許出願は、“METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR ENCODING INFORMATION IN BEACON SIGNALS”(ビーコン信号における情報を符号化するための方法及び装置)いう題名を有する米国仮特許出願一連番号60/814,317(出願日:2006年6月16日)及び“METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR PROGRESSIVELY BROADCASTING INFORMATION IN BEACON SIGNALS”(ビーコン信号において情報を漸進的にブロードキャストするための方法及び装置)いう題名を有する米国仮特許出願一連番号60/814,652(出願日:2006年6月16日)の利益を主張するものであり、これらの出願は、その全体が本明細書において参照されることによって本明細書に組み入れられている。

値Ziは、図10において示される例のように、より大きいスペースを占めるブロードキャスト信号1000であると考えることができる。この例においては、自由度は、0、1、2、3、...、23のラベルが付される。ブロードキャスト信号1000は、(例えば、第1の情報ストリーム生成器506によって)2つ以上のブロック又はサブグループ1002及び1004に分割することができ、各々は、(この例に関するQの値である)12トーンを含む。
示される例においては、{Xi}は、サブグループ1002に関しては“0”に等しく、{Xi}は、サブグループ1004に関しては1に等しい。式1を用いて、{Xi}が“0”に等しい場合は、Ziは、{Yi}に等しく、上方スペース又は第1のサブグループ1002である。しかしながら、{Xi}が“1”に等しい場合は、開始点は、下方スペース又は第2のサブグループ1104における自由度“12”である。従って、{Xi}は、いずれのブロック又はサブグループが選択されたかを示し、{Yi}は、ブロック内における所在場所を示し、このことは、別個のコーディング方式を組み合わせて情報を送信することができるにもかかわらず独立したコーディングを考慮する。パーティショニングは、示されて説明されるパーティショニングと異なる形で実行できることが注目されるべきである。
ブロードキャスト情報の部分組に含まれる情報は、システム1100にアクセスする能力を受信先1104に提供するためにシステム1100の基本構成に関連させることができる。前記部分組には、システムタイミング情報、スペクトル割り当て情報、送信電力情報、サービス情報、通信技術情報、システムバージョン(互換性)情報、スペクトル帯域情報、サービスオペレータ情報、システムローディング情報、等のうちの1つ以上(又はその組合せ)を含めることができる。

1402において、帯域幅部分組のインデックス(m)は、第1の部分組のブロードキャスト情報の情報シーケンスによって決定することができる。1404において、相対インデックス(r)は、第2の部分組のブロードキャスト情報の情報シーケンスによって決定することができる。1402におけるmの決定、及び1404におけるrの決定は、独立して行うことができる点が注目されるべきである。m及びrから、1408において、ビーコンシンボルに関する絶対インデックス(a)が計算される。mを決定するために情報シーケンスの異なる部分が用いられるため、ビーコンバーストごとに、ビーコンシンボルは異なる帯域幅部分組を用いることができる。

Claims (15)
- 基地局を動作させる方法であって、
第1の情報ストリームに第1の値を割り当てることと、
第2の情報ストリームに第2の値を割り当てることと、
前記第1の情報ストリーム及び前記第2の情報ストリームを結合することと、
前記結合された情報ストリームから合成値を生成することと、
前記合成値の関数として波形を送信すること、とを具備し、
前記第1の値を第1の情報ストリームに割り当てることは、{Yi}ビットのシーケンスを決定することを具備し、前記第2の情報ストリームの前記第2の値を割り当てることは、信号{Xi}を生成することを具備し、
前記信号{Xi}は、{Yi}ビットの前記シーケンスの周期性から独立している周期性を有し、
前記第1の情報ストリーム及び前記第2の情報ストリームを結合することは、式Z i ={X i } * (Q+1)+{Y i }を利用することによって行われ、ここで、{Y i }は、前記第1の値を表し、{X i }は、前記第2の値を表し、Qは、前記第1の情報ストリームの最大値を表す、方法。 - 前記第1の情報ストリームは、第1の部分組のブロードキャスト情報を表し、前記第2の情報ストリームは、第2の部分組のブロードキャスト情報を表す請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記波形は、高エネルギービーコン信号を含み、1つの自由度当たりの前記ビーコン信号の送信電力は、前記基地局によって送信されるその他の信号の送信電力よりも少なくとも10dB高い請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記波形は、小さい自由度を占める請求項1に記載の方法。
- 第1の情報ストリームに第1の値を割り当てることは、
複数の情報ビット{ci}の各々をコーディングすることと、
ビット{Yi}のシーケンスを{ci}から決定することであって、{Yi}は単一のビットを表すこと、とをさらに具備する請求項1に記載の方法。 - 第2の情報ストリームに第2の値を割り当てることは、
情報ビット{bi}をコーディングすることと、
{bi}から信号{Xi}を生成すること、とをさらに具備する請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記第1の値及び前記第2の値を結合することは、前記第1の情報ストリームのスペース及び前記第2の情報ストリームのスペースよりも大きいスペースを占めるブロードキャスト信号を生成する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 波形を表す2つの情報ストリームを生成する無線通信装置であって、
第1の情報ストリームに関する第1の値を決定すること、第2の情報ストリームに関する第2の値を決定すること、前記値を結合して合成値を生成すること及び前記合成値の関数として波形を送信することに関連する命令を保持するメモリと、
前記メモリに結合され、前記メモリ内に保持される前記命令を実行するように構成されたプロセッサと、を具備し、
前記第2の値は、前記第1の値のタイミングシーケンスと異なる間隔で繰り返すことができるタイミングシーケンスを提供し、
前記メモリは、式Z i ={X i } * (Q+1)+{Y i }を利用することによって値Z i を生成するための命令をさらに保持し、ここで、{Y i }は、前記第1の値を表し、{X i }は、前記第2の値を表し、Qは、前記第1の情報ストリームの最大値を表す、無線通信装置。 - 前記第1の値を決定することは、前記第2の値を決定することから独立して行われる請求項8に記載の無線通信装置。
- 前記波形は、高エネルギービーコン信号を含み、1つの自由度当たりの前記ビーコン信号の送信電力は、その他の送信された信号の送信電力よりも少なくとも10dB高い請求項8に記載の無線通信装置。
- 前記メモリは、第1のコーディング方式{bi}から信号{Xi}を生成し、第2のコーディング方式{ci}から{Yi}ビットのシーケンスを生成するため命令をさらに保持し、{Yi}は、単一のビットを表す請求項8に記載の無線通信装置。
- 無線通信装置であって、
第1の情報ストリーム及び第2の情報ストリームに独立した値を割り当てるための手段と、
前記独立した値を結合して合成値を生成するための手段と、
前記合成値の関数である波形を出力するための手段であって、前記波形は、高エネルギービーコン信号を含む手段と、を具備し、
前記第2の情報ストリームの周期性と異なる周期性を前記第1の情報ストリームに割り当てるための手段をさらに具備し、
前記第1の値を信号{X i }として表し、前記第2の値を{Y i }ビットのシーケンスとして表すための手段をさらに具備し、前記独立した情報ストリーム値を結合するための前記手段は、式Z i ={X i } * (Q+1)+{Y i }を利用し、ここで、Qは、前記第1の情報ストリームの最大値を表す、無線通信装置。 - 高エネルギービーコン信号を含む前記波形を出力するための前記手段は、実質的に同時に送信されたその他の信号の送信電力よりも少なくとも10dB高い1つの自由度当たりの前記ビーコン信号の送信電力を提供する請求項12に記載の無線通信装置。
- {Xi}は、ブロードキャストメッセージの選択されたブロックを示し、{Yi}は、前記選択されたブロック内における所在場所を示す請求項12に記載の無線通信装置。
