Description
本発明は、全体的に、収縮性フィルム用途に適合したモノビニルアレーン−共役ジエンブロックコポリマーに関する。
収縮性フィルム用途に適合したモノビニルアレーン−共役ジエンブロックコポリマーが提供される。全体的に、本発明においては、2ミルの配向フィルムをブロックコポリマーの性能の基準となるものとして用いる。当業者は、本発明のブロックコポリマーから他のフィルムの構成も可能であることを理解するであろう。
態様の例の説明
例
シクロヘキサンを活性アルミナ上で乾燥し、窒素下で貯蔵した。n−ブチルリチウム開始剤(「Li」)をシクロヘキサン中の15重量%で受け取り、シクロヘキサンで2重量%まで希釈した。テトラヒドロフラン(THF)を活性アルミナ上、窒素下にて保存した。例えば、カリウムt−アミレート(「K」または「KTA」)を使用した場合、KTAは、BASFからシクロヘキサン溶液として購入し、シクロヘキサンで、指示されているように反応器に投与するのに好適な濃度まで希釈した。スチレンおよびブタジエンを活性アルミナ上で精製した。エポキシド化大豆油は受け取ったものを用いた。
表1〜3の重合を、2−ガロンステンレススチール反応器で行った。反応器には、温度制御用のジャケット、二重オージェインペラー(auger impeller)、および邪魔板を装備した。表4での重合は、106ガロンまで規模を拡大した類似の反応器で行った。
この研究で調製されるコポリマーのための処方は表1〜4に列挙してあるところ、モノマー100当たりの部(PHM)を基準として表示されている。括弧での記入項目は、スチレンおよびブタジエンの両方の単回の同時投入を定義する。表1〜3では、典型的な重合には2000gのモノマーを用いたが、粘度または熱除去の制限により低い固形分が必要とされる場合は例外である。表4では、典型的な重合には90,000gのモノマーを用いたが、粘度または熱除去の制限により低い固形分が必要とされる場合は例外である。
表1〜3では、ペレット化生成物を、Killionシートラインを取り付けたDavis Standard 150S押出機で8インチ幅の10ミルシートに押し出した。12cm×12cmのプラークを10ミルシートサンプルからダイカットし、フィルムサンプルとして用いた。Brueckner Maschinenbau製の二軸配向装置を用いて、フィルムの一軸の延伸を押し出しに対して横方向に行った。5:1延伸を可能にする、最低延伸温度にて行った。シートサンプルの延伸を3cm/秒の一定速度で行った。表4では、ペレット化した生成物の10ミルシートの直接配向を工業的規模の装置で行った。
配向せしめたフィルムの浸漬を、オイル・バスにて30秒間行い、その後熱収縮率を計算した。
配向せしめたフィルムを、40℃に設定したオーブン中に7日間載置し、その後自然収縮率を計算した。
Claims (13)
- モノビニルアリーレンおよび共役ジエンを含むブロックコポリマーであって、
このブロックコポリマーが、ブロックコポリマーの15〜30重量%である最初のモノビニルアリーレンブロックを含み、
モノビニルアリーレンと共役ジエンのランダム混合ブロックを含み、この混合ブロックは、共役ジエンに対して4〜9倍量のモノビニルアリーレンを含み、
20〜30重量%の共役ジエンを含み、
カップリングされており、
50.8μm(2ミル)厚の配向フィルムが、以下の(1)〜(3)のいずれかの物性を示し:
(1)80℃以下で配向されたとき、フィルムが以下の物性を示す:80℃における少なくとも50%の収縮率;
(2)100℃以下で配向されたとき、フィルムが以下の物性を示す:70℃における10%未満の収縮率および100℃における少なくとも70%の収縮率;または
(3)少なくとも80℃で配向されたとき、フィルムが以下の物性を示す:70℃における17%未満の収縮率、80℃における少なくとも42%の収縮率、および100℃における少なくとも73%の収縮率、
そして、
ビニル芳香族炭化水素含有量が100重量%であるポリマーセグメントAを少なくとも1個、ビニル芳香族炭化水素含有量が75重量%を超え、90重量%以下であるポリマーセグメントBを少なくとも1個、ビニル芳香族炭化水素含有量が75重量%以下であるポリマーセグメントCを少なくとも1個をそれぞれ有し、全体としてのビニル芳香族炭化水素と共役ジエンとの重量比が60/40〜95/5であるブロックコポリマーであって、ブロックコポリマー中に占めるセグメントAに対応する部分の総量(A’)が20〜80重量部、セグメントBに対応する部分の総量(B’)が10重量部以上、セグメントCに対応する部分の総量(C’)が10重量部以上、B’とC’の合計量が20〜80重量部(但しA’+B’+C’=100重量部)であり、しかもセグメントBがセグメントAに隣接して存在するブロックコポリマーを除く、
上記ブロックコポリマー。 - 80℃以下で配向された物性(1)のブロックコポリマーの50.8μm(2ミル)厚のフィルムが5%以下の曇り度を有する、請求項1に記載のブロックコポリマー。
- 80℃以下で配向された物性(1)のブロックコポリマーの50.8μm(2ミル)厚のフィルムが、5%以下の自然収縮率を有する、請求項1に記載のブロックコポリマー。
- 80℃以下で配向された物性(1)のブロックコポリマーの50.8μm(2ミル)厚のフィルムが、100℃において少なくとも70%の収縮率を有する、請求項1に記載のブロックコポリマー。
- 80℃以下で配向された物性(1)のブロックコポリマーの50.8μm(2ミル)厚のフィルムが、100℃において少なくとも75%の収縮率を有する、請求項1に記載のブロックコポリマー。
- 75℃以下の温度で配向された、請求項1に記載の物性(1)のブロックコポリマー。
- 70℃以下の温度で配向された、請求項1に記載の物性(1)または物性(2)のブロックコポリマー。
- モノビニルアリーレンがスチレンであり、共役ジエンが1,3−ブタジエンである、請求項1に記載のブロックコポリマー。
- チャージ順序:i−A−B−C−CAによって形成される、請求項1に記載の物性(1)のブロックコポリマー:
「i」は重合開始剤チャージであり;
「A」はモノビニルアリーレンチャージであり;
「B」は共役ジエンチャージであり;
「C」は、モノビニルアリーレンと共役ジエンのランダム混合ブロックであり;
「CA」はカップリング剤である。 - チャージ順序:i−A−C−B−CAによって形成される、請求項1に記載の物性(1)または物性(2)のブロックコポリマー:
「i」は、重合開始剤チャージであり、
「A」は、モノビニルアリーレンチャージであり、
「B」は、共役ジエンチャージであり、
「C」は、モノビニルアリーレンおよび共役ジエンのランダム混合ブロックであり、
「CA」は、カップリング剤である。 - チャージ順序:i−A−i−C−B−CAによって形成される、請求項1に記載の物性(1)または物性(2)のブロックコポリマー:
「i」は、重合開始剤チャージであり、
「A」は、モノビニルアリーレンチャージであり、
「B」は、共役ジエンチャージであり、
「C」は、モノビニルアリーレンおよび共役ジエンのランダム混合ブロックであり、
「CA」は、カップリング剤である。 - 100℃以下で配向された物性(2)のブロックコポリマーの50.8μm(2ミル)厚のフィルムが、5%以下の曇り度を有する、請求項1に記載のブロックコポリマー。
- 100℃以下で配向された物性(2)のブロックコポリマーの50.8μm(2ミル)厚のフィルムが、5%以下の自然収縮率を有する請求項1に記載のブロックコポリマー。
