Description
前記液晶表示パネルの前記観察者側の表面に配置された透明カバーとを有する液晶表示装置であって、
前記透明カバーは、前記透明カバーの前記第2の基板に対向する表面に、第2の接合部材を介して光学部材が貼り付けられており、
前記第2の基板は、前記観察者側の表面に対して化学研磨が施された研磨面を有し、
前記光学部材と前記研磨面とは、前記光学部材と前記研磨面との両方に直接接触するとともに、前記第2の基板の表面の表示領域に対応する部分の全てを覆っている第1の接合部材を介して貼り付けられており、
前記第1の接合部材は、厚さが30〜200μmであり、前記第2の接合部材は、厚さが10〜25μmであることを特徴とする。
平面的に観た場合、前記光学部材の端部は、前記シール材よりも表示領域側に位置しており、
前記第1の接合部材は、前記光学部材の側面の全てを覆っていることを特徴とする。
平面的に観た場合、前記光学部材の端部は、前記シール材と重畳することを特徴とする。
〈全体の構成〉
図2は、本発明による液晶表示装置の一実施例を示した分解斜視図で、携帯電話用の液晶表示装置を示している。
図3は、図2に示した液晶表示パネルPNLの一実施例を示した概略平面図である。
図4(a)は、本発明による液晶表示装置の他の実施例を示す構成図で、図1と対応させて描いている。図4(a)において、図1と同符号の部材は図1に示した部材と同一の部材となっている。
図7(a)は、本発明による液晶表示装置の他の実施例を示す断面図で、図1に対応した図となっている。図7(a)において、図1と同符号の部材は図1に示した部材と同一の部材となっている。
Claims (11)
- 第1の基板と、前記第1の基板よりも観察者側に配置された第2の基板と、前記第1の基板と前記第2の基板との間に挟持された液晶層とを有する液晶表示パネルと、
前記液晶表示パネルの前記観察者側の表面に配置された透明カバーとを有する液晶表示装置であって、
前記透明カバーは、前記透明カバーの前記第2の基板に対向する表面に、第2の接合部材を介して光学部材が貼り付けられており、
前記第2の基板は、前記観察者側の表面に対して化学研磨が施された研磨面を有し、
前記光学部材と前記研磨面とは、前記光学部材と前記研磨面との両方に直接接触するとともに、前記第2の基板の表面の表示領域に対応する部分の全てを覆っている第1の接合部材を介して貼り付けられており、
前記第1の接合部材は、厚さが30〜200μmであり、前記第2の接合部材は、厚さが10〜25μmであることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記第1の接合部材は、厚さが30〜100μmであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1の接合部材は、液体を硬化させた接着剤であることを特徴とする請求項1、2のいずれかに記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1の接合部材は、粘着材であることを特徴とする請求項1、2のいずれかに記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第2の接合部材は、粘着材であることを特徴とする請求項1ないし4のいずれかに記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記光学部材は、偏光板および位相差板のうち少なくともいずれかを含むことを特徴とする請求項1ないし5のいずれかに記載の液晶表示装置。
- 平面的に観た場合、前記透明カバーの端部および前記光学部材の端部は、前記第2の基板よりも外側にはみ出していることを特徴とする請求項1ないし6のいずれかに記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1の基板と前記第2の基板とを貼り合わせるシール材を有し、
平面的に観た場合、前記光学部材の端部は、前記シール材よりも表示領域側に位置しており、
前記第1の接合部材は、前記光学部材の側面の全てを覆っていることを特徴とする請求項1ないし6のいずれかに記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記第1の基板と前記第2の基板とを貼り合わせるシール材を有し、
平面的に観た場合、前記光学部材の端部は、前記シール材と重畳することを特徴とする請求項1ないし6のいずれかに記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記透明カバーは、ガラス板または樹脂板で構成された保護カバーであることを特徴とする請求項1ないし9のいずれかに記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記透明カバーは、タッチパネルの機能を有することを特徴とする請求項1ないし9のいずれかに記載の液晶表示装置。
