Description
図1は、液体還元剤の前駆体としての尿素水溶液を使用し、エンジン排気中のNOxを選択的に還元浄化する排気浄化装置の全体構成を示す。
ステップ2では、水位Lが測定可能下限未満であるか否かを判定する。ここで、測定可能下限は、濃度計の存在により水位を正確に測定できなくなる水位を特定するものであって、例えば、還元剤タンク24に取り付けたセンサ30の水位出力特性から適宜設定される。そして、水位Lが測定可能下限未満であればステップ3へと進む一方(Yes)、水位Lが測定可能下限以上であればステップ10へと進む(No)。
ステップ4では、濃度Cが所定閾値より大であるか否かを介して、還元剤タンク24の尿素水溶液が空であるか否かを判定する。ここで、所定閾値は、濃度計の濃度測定原理を利用して、尿素水溶液が空であるか否かを判定するためのものであって、例えば、規定の尿素水溶液では通常採り得ない値に設定される。そして、尿素水溶液が空であればステップ5へと進む一方(Yes)、尿素水溶液が空でなければステップ7へと進む(No)。なお、濃度信号にノイズが重畳して誤判定を行うことを抑制すべく、濃度Cが所定回数連続して所定閾値より大となったときに、尿素水溶液が空であると判定することが望ましい。
ステップ7では、添加流量積算値にエンジン運転状態に応じた添加流量を加算して、添加流量積算値を更新する。
ステップ10では、水位Lが測定可能下限以上であるので、添加流量積算値をリセットする。
このような水位測定装置によれば、センサ30の水位計により測定された水位Lが測定可能下限以上であれば、その水位Lが出力される。一方、水位Lが測定可能下限未満であれば、エンジン運転状態に応じた添加流量を順次積算した添加流量積算値及びタンク断面積に基づいて推定された水位が出力される。このため、センサ30において、濃度計の存在により水位を正確に測定できない範囲であっても、尿素水溶液の消費量たる添加流量積算値から水位が演算により推定されることから、広範囲に亘って水位を測定することができるようになる。
ステップ21では、図5に示すように、還元剤タンク24に貯蔵される尿素水溶液の各水位におけるタンク断面積が設定されたテーブルを参照し、前回出力した水位におけるタンク断面積を取得する。なお、図示のテーブルでは、水位1mmごとのタンク断面積が設定されているが、水位計の分解能に応じた水位の間隔でタンク断面積を設定するようにすればよい。
ステップ23では、測定可能下限から水位低下分を減算し、尿素水溶液の水位を推定する。

Claims (6)
- 液体還元剤又はその前駆体を貯蔵する還元剤タンクと、
液体還元剤又はその前駆体を使用して排気中の窒素酸化物を還元浄化する還元触媒と、
エンジン運転状態に応じた添加流量で、前記還元剤タンクに貯蔵される液体還元剤又はその前駆体を還元触媒の排気上流に噴射供給する還元剤添加装置と、
前記還元剤タンクの天壁から垂下するように取り付けられ、静電容量変化から液体還元剤又はその前駆体の水位を測定する水位計、及び、放熱特性から液体還元剤又はその前駆体の濃度を測定する濃度計が一体化されたセンサと、
コンピュータを内蔵したコントロールユニットと、

前記コントロールユニットが、前記センサの水位計により測定された水位が所定の測定可能下限以上であるとき、その測定水位を出力する一方、前記センサの水位計により測定された水位が前記測定可能下限未満であるとき、前記還元剤添加装置により噴射供給される液体還元剤又はその前駆体の添加流量を順次積算した積算値並びにタンク断面積に基づいて推定した水位を出力することを特徴とする排気浄化装置。 - 前記コントロールユニットが、前記センサの濃度計により測定された濃度に基づいて液体還元剤又はその前駆体が空であると判定したとき、水位0を出力することを特徴とする請求項1記載の排気浄化装置。
- 前記コントロールユニットが、前記センサの濃度計により測定された濃度に基づいて液体還元剤又はその前駆体が空であると所定回数連続して判定したときに、水位0を出力することを特徴とする請求項1記載の排気浄化装置。
- 前記コントロールユニットが、前記還元剤タンクに貯蔵される液体還元剤又はその前駆体の各水位におけるタンク断面積が設定されたテーブルを参照し、前回出力した水位におけるタンク断面積を用いて、水位を推定することを特徴とする請求項1〜請求項3のいずれか1つに記載の排気浄化装置。
- 前記コントロールユニットが、前記センサの水位計により測定された水位が前記測定可能下限以上であるとき、前記還元剤添加装置により噴射供給される液体還元剤又はその前駆体の添加流量を順次積算した積算値と、前記水位計により測定された水位の変化から求められた液体還元剤又はその前駆体の消費量と、の比率を演算し、前記センサの水位計により測定された水位が前記測定可能下限未満となったとき、前記比率を用いて添加流量積算値を補正することを特徴とする請求項1〜請求項4のいずれか1つに記載の排気浄化装置。
- 液体還元剤又はその前駆体を貯蔵する還元剤タンクの天壁から垂下するように取り付けられ、静電容量変化から液体還元剤又はその前駆体の水位を測定する水位計、及び、放熱特性から液体還元剤又はその前駆体の濃度を測定する濃度計が一体化されたセンサと、
コンピュータを内蔵したコントロールユニットと、
を含んで構成され、
前記コントロールユニットが、前記センサの水位計により測定された水位が所定の測定可能下限以上であるとき、その測定水位を出力する一方、前記センサの水位計により測定された水位が前記測定可能下限未満であるとき、前記還元剤タンクにおいて消費された液体還元剤又はその前駆体の消費量並びにタンク断面積に基づいて推定した水位を出力することを特徴とする水位測定装置。
