- 有機染料材料で作られる上層記録層であり、データの記録が該有機染料材料の光学厚さの変化を生じさせるようにし、28ナノメートル以上115ナノメートル以下の厚さdRと屈折率nRとを有する上層記録層を有する上層記録スタックと、少なくとも一つの下層記録スタックとを入射面の下に有する、DVDフォーマットを有するライトワンス光記憶媒体であって、
前記下層記録スタックは、波長λで前記入射面を通り該光記憶媒体に入り、前記下層記録スタック上に焦点が合わされ、前記上層記録スタック内を透過する放射ビームによって記録又は読出しされ、
前記上層記録層の記録は、前記上層記録層における記録が行われた領域と記録が行われていない領域との間で光学厚さの偏差Δ(nR・dR)をもたらし、前記偏差は、0.03λ乃至0.125λの範囲内にあり、
前記波長λは、約655ナノメートルであり、
前記上層記録層は、グルーブ及びランドを有し、
前記上層記録層は、前記グルーブでの厚さと前記ランドでの厚さとの少なくとも二つの異なる前記厚さd R の値を有する、

- 前記下層記録スタックは、有機染料材料を有する下層記録層と、該下層記録層の下に形成される厚い金属反射層とを有する請求項1記載のライトワンス光記憶媒体。
- 前記薄い金属反射層は、5ナノメートルより大きく25ナノメートルより小さい厚さを有し、銀合金から形成される請求項2記載のライトワンス光記憶媒体。
- 前記入射面の下に、前記入射面と前記上層記録層との間に形成され、0.3ミリメートルより大きく1.2ミリメートルより小さい厚さを有する透明基板を有する請求項1記載のライトワンス光記憶媒体。
- 有機染料材料で作られる上層記録層であり、データの記録が該有機染料材料の光学厚さの変化を生じさせるようにする上層記録層と少なくとも一つの下層記録層とを有する、DVDフォーマットを有するライトワンス光記憶媒体を製造する方法であり、該下層記録層が、波長λを有する集束放射ビームによって記録又は読出しされる方法であって、
当該製造方法は、予めグルーブが付けられた半透明基板を形成する段階と、
前記上層記録層の記録が、該上層記録層における記録が行われた領域と記録が行われていない領域との間で光学厚さの偏差をもたらすよう、28ナノメートル以上115ナノメートル以下の厚さdRと屈折率nRとを有する前記上層記録層を形成するために、前記予めグルーブが付けられた基板上に有機染料をスピンコーティングする段階と、
を有し、
前記偏差は、0.03λ乃至0.125λの範囲内にあり、
前記波長λは、約655ナノメートルであり、
前記上層記録層は、グルーブ及びランドを有し、
