Description
特許文献3及び4には、エポキシ樹脂中で金属アルコキシドを加水分解、縮合することにより得られるエポキシ樹脂−金属酸化物複合体が開示されている。本材料は透明性に優れ、LED封止材料に好適に使用できるとされている。
特許文献5においても、エポキシ樹脂、硬化剤、アルコキシチタンを含有するエポキシ樹脂組成物が開示されている。
特許文献6には、チタネート系カップリング剤を併用してチタンアルコキシドとエポキシ樹脂を複合化した硬化性樹脂組成物が開示されている。
特許文献7及び8においては、アミン系硬化剤を用いた場合のエポキシ樹脂と金属アルコキシドの複合化法が記載されている。
以上の特許文献3〜8に開示されたすべてのエポキシ樹脂組成物については、金属酸化物との複合化により強度、耐湿性、耐熱性、抗菌性等の物性が付与されているが、屈折率等の光学特性については何ら記載がない。
特許文献9及び10には、メルカプト基を有するシラン化合物をエポキシ樹脂と反応させる方法が開示されているが、金属アルコキシドとの組み合わせについては記載はない。
特許文献11には、メルカプト基及びアルコキシ基を有する有機ケイ素化合物とエポキシ化合物との反応生成物、及びチタン酸エステルからなるプライマー組成物が開示されている。このチタン酸エステルは該有機ケイ素化合物の加水分解触媒として添加されたものであり、屈折率等の光学特性に対する効果については何ら記載がない。
特許文献5において開示された組成物は、単にアルコキシチタンを加えるだけで何ら工夫を施しておらず、チタンアルコキシドから得られる酸化チタンが凝集により比較的大きな粒子を形成してしまうため透明な材料を得ることは困難である。特に酸化チタンの添加量を増やすほどその傾向は顕著となる。
特許文献6において用いられているチタネート系カップリング剤は、一般的に黄色〜褐色に着色しており、光学材料を目的とした樹脂組成物の調製に用いるには適さない。
特許文献7及び8において用いられているアミン硬化剤は、硬化物の着色を引き起こしやすく、硬化物を光学材料として使用する場合の硬化剤としては適していない。
非特許文献1及び2においては、屈折率等の光学特性については何ら記載はない。また1級アミノ基がエポキシ樹脂と反応すると、エポキシ樹脂が硬化反応を起こしてゲル化するため、均一で透明な硬化物が得られないという問題点も有する。
更に、チタンアルコキシドから誘導される酸化チタンは屈折率が高いため、光学特性の改善には有利であるが、光触媒活性を有していたり、高温で硬化させた際に硬化物が着色しやすい、エポキシ樹脂に充分な耐熱性を付与できない等、依然解決すべき課題を有している。

エポキシ樹脂(a−1)のエポキシ基に対し、1分子中に1個のメルカプト基及び少なくとも1個のケイ素原子に結合したアルコキシ基を同時に有するシラン化合物(a−2)を反応させて得られるアルコキシシリル基変性エポキシ樹脂(A)と、
ジルコニウムアルコキシド及び/又はその加水分解部分縮合物(B)と、
水(C)と、
を含む硬化性エポキシ樹脂組成物を加水分解縮合反応を含む工程により硬化させて得られる硬化物であって、
前記硬化物中のジルコニウムの含有量が酸化ジルコニウム換算で5〜30質量%であり、且つ、動的粘弾性測定において室温以上250℃以下の温度領域にガラス転移温度を示さない硬化物。

エポキシ樹脂(a−1)のエポキシ基に対し、1分子中に1個のメルカプト基及び少なくとも1個のケイ素原子に結合したアルコキシ基を同時に有するシラン化合物(a−2)を反応させて得られるアルコキシシリル基変性エポキシ樹脂(A)と、
ジルコニウムアルコキシド及び/又はその加水分解部分縮合物(B)と、
水(C)と、
を含む硬化性エポキシ樹脂組成物を加水分解縮合反応を含む工程により硬化させて得られる硬化物であって、
前記硬化物中のジルコニウムの含有量が酸化ジルコニウム換算で5〜30質量%であり、且つ、動的粘弾性測定において室温以上250℃以下の温度領域にガラス転移温度を示さない硬化物である。
なお、ガラス転移温度は種々の方法で測定できるが、ここで言うガラス転移温度は、動的粘弾性測定で得られるものを指し、tanδのピークによって示される。
物性の測定は以下に述べる方法により行った。
(1)付加反応及び加水分解縮合反応による硬化反応の追跡
フーリエ変換赤外分光分析装置(Perkin Elmer社製、SPECTRUM2000)を用い、KBr法によりIRスペクトルを測定することにより行った。
(2)屈折率測定
アッベ屈折計(アタゴ(株)製、NAR−2T)を用いて測定を行った。光源としてNa線単色光(589.3nm)、試験片とプリズム間の中間液としてイオウヨウ化メチレン(nD=1.78)を用いた。試験片は硬化物を8×30×1mmの直方体状片に切り出し、耐水研磨紙2000番で研磨後、更にアルミナで研磨したものを用いた。
(3)動的粘弾性測定
非共振強制振動型粘弾性測定装置(レオロジー(株)製、DVE−V4FTレオスペクトラーを用いて測定を行った。硬化物を4.5×30×0.45mmの大きさの試験片に加工し、引っ張りモード、周波数10Hz、変位振幅5μm、昇温速度2℃/分の条件で、−150〜250℃の範囲で測定を行った。
(4)透過型電子顕微鏡(TEM)観察
硬化物の相構造を観察するために透過型電子顕微鏡(日本電子(株)製、JEM−1210)を使用した。ウルトラミクロトーム((株)ライカ製、REICHERT ULTRACUT E)及びダイヤモンドナイフ(住友電工(株)製、SUMI KNIFE SK1045)を用い、厚さ50nmの超薄膜片を作製し、この薄膜片を銅メッシュ上に載せ観察した。
(1)アルコキシシリル基変性エポキシ樹脂の合成
グローブボックス内でビスフェノールA型エポキシ樹脂(ジャパンエポキシレジン(株)製、商品名JER828、MW=380)10.0質量部に3−メルカプトプロピルトリメトキシシラン(信越化学工業(株)製、LS−1390)10.6質量部とジメチルベンジルアミン0.05質量部を加えて80℃で撹拌した。変性反応に伴う発熱が認められ、発熱がなくなるまで2時間撹拌を続けた。
得られたメルカプトシラン変性エポキシ樹脂の構造を確認するため、FT−IRを測定したところ、4530cm-1に現れるエポキシ基の伸縮振動のピークと2568cm-1に現れる−SH基の伸縮振動のピークが完全に消失していることが確認され、エポキシ基とメルカプト基が定量的に反応していることが判った。更には3−メルカプトプロピルトリメトキシシランに由来するメトキシ基は未反応のまま残存していることが判った。
上記(1)で調製したメルカプトシラン変性エポキシ樹脂全量に対し、イソプロパノール24.0質量部と塩酸0.19質量部を加え、30分間攪拌した。
得られた溶液3.0質量部を量り取り(正味のメルカプトシラン変性エポキシ樹脂1.38質量部を含む)、蒸留水0.196質量部、ジブチルスズジラウレート0.015質量部を加え、最後にジルコニウムテトラn−プロポキシド(和光純薬工業(株)製、試薬)0.225質量部(硬化物中のジルコニウムの理論含有量が酸化ジルコニウム(ZrO2)換算で6.9質量%となる量)を含むクロロホルム溶液を加えて充分に攪拌した。
得られた溶液を型に入れ大気圧下で1日静置して揮発成分を除去した後、恒温槽に移し80℃で48時間、更に150℃で24時間反応させ硬化物を得た。この硬化物は僅かに黄色い着色が見られたが、透明性に優れたものであった。
上記(2)で得た硬化物のFT−IRを測定したところ、Si−O−CH3に由来する2840cm-1のピークが消失し、Si−O−Si結合に由来する1034cm-1の吸収とSi−O−Zr結合に由来する950cm-1の吸収が確認された。また硬化物のTEM観察を行ったところ、無機成分の凝集によるドメイン構造は見られず均一な構造が確認された。Si−O−Zr結合の生成によりジルコニウムが系中に均一に相溶し、優れた透明性が得られたと推定された。
この硬化物の動的粘弾性を測定したところ、室温〜250℃の範囲でガラス転移温度は観察されなかった。
実施例1と同じ手順に従い、ジルコニウムの理論含有量が酸化ジルコニウム(ZrO2)換算でそれぞれ11.1、14.3、17.2質量%となるようにジルコニウムテトラn−プロポキシドを加え硬化させた。得られた硬化物の特性を表1にまとめた。
実施例1において、ジルコニウムテトラn−プロポキシドは使用せず、メルカプトシラン変性エポキシ樹脂のみを加水分解縮合し、硬化させた。得られた硬化物の特性を表1にまとめた。
実施例1と同じ手順に従い、ジルコニウムの理論含有量が酸化ジルコニウム(ZrO2)換算で2.4質量%となるようにジルコニウムテトラn−プロポキシドを加え硬化させた。得られた硬化物の特性を表1にまとめた。
実施例1において、ジルコニウムテトラn−プロポキシドの代わりにチタンテトライソプロポキシド(和光純薬工業(株)製、試薬)を用い、チタンの理論含有量が酸化チタン(TiO2)換算で7.2質量%となるように硬化させた。硬化条件は、150℃×12時間とした。得られた硬化物の特性を表1にまとめた。
これに対し、酸化ジルコニウムの含有量が5質量%未満である比較例1及び2においては、屈折率が低く、また室温〜250℃の温度領域にガラス転移温度が観測された。
チタンテトライソプロポキシドを用いた比較例3においては、硬化物が著しく着色しており、また、室温〜250℃の温度領域にガラス転移温度が観察された。
このことから、特定量のジルコニウムアルコキシドを用いた本実施の形態の硬化物は、透明性に優れ、高屈折率と高耐熱性を両立した材料として有利に使用できることが分かる。
Claims (3)
- エポキシ樹脂(a−1)のエポキシ基に対し、1分子中に1個のメルカプト基及び少なくとも1個のケイ素原子に結合したアルコキシ基を同時に有するシラン化合物(a−2)を反応させて得られるアルコキシシリル基変性エポキシ樹脂(A)と、
ジルコニウムアルコキシド及び/又はその加水分解部分縮合物(B)と、
水(C)と、
を含む硬化性エポキシ樹脂組成物を加水分解縮合反応を含む工程により硬化させて得られる硬化物であって、
前記硬化物中のジルコニウムの含有量が酸化ジルコニウム換算で5〜30質量%であり、且つ、動的粘弾性測定において室温以上250℃以下の温度領域にガラス転移温度を示さない硬化物。 - 波長589.3nmにおける屈折率が1.59以上である、請求項1記載の硬化物。
- 請求項1又は2記載の硬化物からなる光学部材。
