Description
本発明は分析物の測定のための分析読み取りデバイスに関する。特に、測定の光学的方法を用いる分析検査ストリップと共に使用する電子リーダーに関する。
分析物の家庭内検査に適する分析デバイスは現在は広く商業的に入手可能である。妊娠ホルモンヒト漿膜性線刺激ホルモン(hCG)の測定について、この目的のために適する1つの側流免疫分析デバイスは、CLEARBLUE(登録商標)の商標名の下にUnipathから販売されて、欧州特許EP291194号に開示されている。
本明細書は、分析検査ストリップと共に使用するか或いはこのストリップに一体的組み合わせられたリーダーを含む分析デバイスを与える。リーダーは或る環境下で分析が完了する前に陽性又は陰性の結果(即ち検査サンプル内の分析物の存在と量との何れか一方又は両方)を判定する。
分析は、好ましいが必ずしも必須事項ではないものとして、側流型分析であり、ここでは対象の分析物を含み得る液体サンプルが液体移送手段(代表的には、ニトロセルローズなどの多孔性担持体を含む)へ加えられて、これに沿って移動する。この種の分析は当業者には公知であり、例えば欧州特許EP0291194号に開示されている。

分析結果読み取りデバイスの実施形態を図1に示す。
図3は3つの異なるサンプルについての代表的な結果を時間(秒)に対する信号の量(任意の単位における「読み取り」)として示す。
分析結果読み取りデバイスは尿中のhCGの濃度に基づいて妊娠判定をなすために形成された。検査ストリップは、発色団に結合された対hCG抗体を含む。
上述の例は、1回検査、即ち単独の検査ストリップが単独の検査結果について分析されるように働く分析結果読み取りデバイスを参照した。閾値は確実性及び反復性のために通常は検査ごとに所定値に留める。
或る実施形態においては、分析結果読み取りデバイスは、時間的に蓄積された先行する検査結果を記憶するメモリシステムを含む。例えば、デバイスは薬物濫用又はその代謝物生成を検査するように構成してもよく、メモリシステムは予想検査結果を記憶できる。デバイスは、例えばディスプレイ及び関連電子部品等により、検査結果を視認又は検索するシステムも含む。
或る実施形態においては、分析結果読み取りデバイスは、分析物の変動についての検査プロファイルを記憶するメモリシステムを含む。プロファイルは例えば上限閾値及び下限閾値を含むことができる。プロファイルは閾値比較を実行する時間期間を更に含むことができる。この方式では、信号分析結果読み取りデバイスは様々な分析物分析を実行するために使用し得る。

Claims (23)
- 分析物の量又は分析物の蓄積率を表す分析物信号に応答する計算回路を備えており、この計算回路が、分析物信号を第1の閾値と比較し、且つこの分析物信号を第1の閾値より小さな第2の閾値と比較することができる、分析結果を判定するデバイスであって、
前記デバイスは、分析物信号が均衡に達する前に該分析物信号を第1の閾値及び第2の閾値と比較し、前記分析物信号が第1の閾値を越える場合に出力信号が生成され、前記分析物信号が第2の閾値未満である場合にも出力信号が生成され、該出力信号は、前記分析物信号が第1の閾値を越える場合には第1の結果を表し、前記分析物信号が第2の閾値未満である場合には第2の結果を表し、前記分析物信号が第1の閾値を越える場合には分析を終了し、前記分析物信号が第2の閾値未満である場合にも分析を終了し、前記分析物信号が第1の閾値と第2の閾値との間にあるならば、前記計算回路が該分析物信号に更に応答して、前記比較及び前記条件生成を反復することを特徴とする前記デバイス。 - 請求項1のデバイスにおいて、第1の結果が陽性結果であり、第2の結果が陰性結果であるデバイス。
- 請求項1又は2に記載のデバイスにおいて、前記分析物信号を測定する光学検出システムを更に含むデバイス。
- 請求項3に記載のデバイスにおいて、前記光学検出システムが、少なくとも1つの光源及び少なくとも1つの光検出器を含むデバイス。
- 請求項3に記載のデバイスにおいて、前記光学検出システムが、少なくとも3つの光源及び少なくとも2つの光検出器を含むデバイス。
- 請求項5に記載のデバイスにおいて、前記少なくとも3つの光源が3つの発光ダイオード(10a、10b、10c)を含み、前記少なくとも2つの光検出器が2つの光ダイオード(12)を含むデバイス。
- 請求項1乃至6の何れか一項に記載のデバイスにおいて、前記計算回路に接続されたタイマーを更に含むデバイス。
- 請求項1乃至7の何れか一項に記載のデバイスにおいて、光不透過性合成プラスチック材料から形成されたハウジング(2)を更に含むデバイス。
- 請求項8に記載のデバイスにおいて、少なくとも1つの光源及び少なくとも1つの光検出器を更に含むと共に、
前記ハウジングが前記デバイスの内側の検査ストリップの少なくとも一部分を受け入れるアパーチュア(4)を規定し、
前記検査ストリップは少なくとも1対の領域を有し、
前記アパーチュア、光源、及び光検出器は、前記検査ストリップの挿入に際して、前記光源から射出された光が前記領域上に入射して、前記領域から放射する光が前記光検出器に入射するように配置され、且つ寸法付け及び形状付けられて、前記光検出器が前記領域内の分析物の量を表す分析物信号を生成するようにされているデバイス。 - 請求項9に記載のデバイスにおいて、前記検査ストリップが、粒子標識付け特定結合試薬及び非標識付け特定結合試薬を包含しているデバイス。
- 請求項10に記載のデバイスにおいて、特定結合試薬が、金の粒子或いは着色ポリマーにより標識付けされるデバイス。
- 請求項9に記載のデバイスにおいて、前記少なくとも1つの光源が3つの光源を含み、前記少なくとも1つの光検出器が2つの光検出器を含むデバイス。
- 請求項12に記載のデバイスにおいて、前記少なくとも3つの光源が3つの発光ダイオード源を含み、前記少なくとも2つの光検出器が2つの光ダイオードを含むデバイス。
- 請求項1乃至13に記載のデバイスにおいて、少なくとも1つの光源と、少なくとも1つの光検出器と、少なくとも1つの領域を有する検査ストリップとを更に含み、前記光源と前記光検出器と前記検査ストリップとが、前記光源から射出された光が前記領域上に入射して、前記領域から放射する光が前記光検出器に入射するように配置され、且つ寸法付け及び形状付けられて、前記光検出器が前記領域内の分析物の量を表す分析物信号を生成するようにされているデバイス。
- 請求項14に記載のデバイスにおいて、前記少なくとも1つの光源が3つの発光ダイオード源を含み、前記少なくとも1つの光検出器が2つの光ダイオードを含むデバイス。
- 請求項1乃至15の何れか一項に記載のデバイスにおいて、結果を記憶するためのメモリシステムを更に含むデバイス。
- 対象の分析物の存在と量との何れか一方又は双方を検出して分析結果を読み取る請求項1に記載のデバイスであって、対象の分析物の存在又は非存在が、時間に依存する方式で信号の蓄積を導く反応を引き起こし、前記デバイスは、
信号蓄積の率又は量を測定する手段(18)と、
前記測定された信号蓄積の率又は量を上限閾値と比較する手段(18)と、
前記測定された信号蓄積の率又は量を下限閾値と比較する手段(18)と、
分析が終了する前に、前記測定された信号蓄積の率又は量が前記上限閾値を越えた場合に分析結果を示す手段(18)と、
前記測定された信号蓄積の率又は量が前記下限閾値を下回った場合に、或いは分析が終了する前に前記信号蓄積の率又は量が前記下限閾値を越えないか又は越える傾向にないと判断されたときに、分析結果を示す手段(18)とを備えるデバイス。 - 請求項17に記載のデバイスにおいて、信号蓄積が、標識付け試薬の累積によるものであるデバイス。
- 請求項18に記載のデバイスにおいて、標識が色付き粒子であるデバイス。
- 請求項17に記載のデバイスにおいて、信号蓄積が、側流分析棒の検出領域における特定結合試薬の累積によるものであるデバイス。
- 側流型分析デバイスである請求項1乃至20に記載のデバイス。
- 対象の分析物の存在と量との何れか一方又は双方を検出して分析結果又は結論を読み取る方法であって、
時間に依存する方式で対象の分析物の存在又は非存在を表す信号の蓄積を導く反応を引き起こすように分析を実行する段階を含んでおり、
反応が均衡に達する前に信号蓄積の率又は量が測定され、該測定された信号蓄積の率又は量が、上限閾値を越えるか、又は、下限閾値を下回るか或いは分析が終了する前に前記信号蓄積の率又は量が前記下限閾値を越えないか又は越える傾向にないと判断されたときに、前記分析の結果又は結論が示され、該測定された信号蓄積の率又は量が前記上限閾値と前記下限閾値との間にあるか、又は、分析が終了する前に前記信号蓄積の率又は量が前記下限閾値を越えるか又は越える傾向にあると判断されたときは、該信号蓄積の率又は量と前記上限閾値及び前記下限閾値の両方との比較及び前記条件生成が反復されることを特徴とする前記方法。 - 請求項22に記載の方法において、少なくとも上限及び下限閾値を規定する段階を更に含む方法。
