Description
平均粒径38nm及び比表面積50m2/gmを有するアルミナナノ粒子は、Nanophase Technologies Corpから入手した。ジカルボン酸であるテレフタル酸(TA)は、Aldrich chemicalsから粉末形態で購入して、入荷したままで使用した。エタノール(200プルーフ)は、Fisher chemicalsから入手し、トリフルオロ酢酸(TFA)は、Sigma−Aldrichから入手した。すべての試薬を入荷したままで使用した。カップリング剤である芳香族ポリカルボジイミド(Stabaxol 100)は、Rheinchemie chemicalsから入手した。
示差走査熱量測定(DSC)分析は、Mettler Toledo DSC822e機器を用いて実施した。DSCを用いるガラス転移温度の測定は、融成物からクエンチして調製した無定形試料について実施した。半結晶性ポリマーのガラス転移温度は、しばしばマトリックスの結晶性に依存しており、界面強度の真実の指標は、無定形試料の研究によってのみ得ることができる。これらの測定に対しては、10oC/minの走査速度を用いた。
実施例1:
ナノ粒子表面上へのTAコーティングは、TGAにより特徴付けられた。7wt%TAコーティングした粒子のTGAが、図1に示されている。TAは、〜300℃で昇華する。しかしながら、7wt%TAコーティングしたナノ粒子については、2.5%のみの重量損失が〜300℃で起こる。これは、遊離のテレフタル酸に相当する。約4wt%の損失が500℃を超える温度で起こる。このことは、この割合のTAが昇華しないこと及び粒子表面に強く吸着していることを示す。
Claims (15)
- ナノ粒子をジカルボン酸でコーティングする工程;
ジカルボン酸コーティングしたナノ粒子をカップリング剤と混合して第1の混合物を得る工程;並びに
第1の混合物をポリエステルと混合してポリエステルより高いガラス転移温度及びポリエステルより低い結晶化温度を有するポリエステルナノコンポジットを形成させる工程
を含む、ポリエステルナノコンポジットを製造する方法。 - ナノ粒子の平均粒径が1nmから100nmまでの範囲にある、請求項1に記載の方法。
- ナノ粒子が、金属酸化物、非金属酸化物、非金属化合物、半金属酸化物、及び半金属化合物から選択される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 金属酸化物が酸化アルミニウムである、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 非金属酸化物が酸化ケイ素である、請求項3に記載の方法。
- ジカルボン酸が、テレフタル酸、イソフタル酸、o−フタル酸、1,3−ナフタレンジカルボン酸、1,4−ナフタレンジカルボン酸、4,4'ジフェニルジカルボン酸、4,4'ジフェニルスルホンジカルボン酸、及びジフェニルエーテル4,4'−ジカルボン酸からなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- ジカルボン酸が、テレフタル酸、イソフタル酸、及びo−フタル酸からなる群から選択される、請求項6に記載の方法。
- カップリング剤が、カルボジイミド、エポキシド、及び無水物からなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- カップリング剤が、カルボジイミドである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- ポリエステルが、ポリ(エチレンテレフタレート)、ポリ(シクロヘキシレンジメチレンテレフタレート)、ポリ(エチレンドデケート)、ポリ(ブチレンテレフタレート)、ポリ(エチレンナフタレート)、ポリ(エチレン2,7−ナフタレート)、ポリ(メタフェニレンイソフタレート)、ポリ(グリコール酸)、ポリ(エチレンサクシネート)、ポリ(エチレンアジペート)、ポリ(エチレンセバケート)、ポリ(デカメチレンアゼレート)、ポリ(デカメチレンセバケート)、ポリ(ジメチルプロピオラクトン)、ポリ(エチレンイソフタレート)、ポリ(テトラメチレンテレフタレート)、ポリ(ヘキサメチレンテレフタレート)、ポリ(デカメチレンテレフタレート)、ポリ(1,4−シクロヘキサンジメチレンテレフタレート)(trans)、ポリ(エチレン1,5−ナフタレート)、ポリ(エチレン2,6−ナフタレート)、及びポリ(1,4−シクロヘキシレンジメチレンテレフタレート)からなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- ポリエステルが、ポリ(エチレンテレフタレート)である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- ジカルボン酸コーティングしたナノ粒子が1:2から1:6までの範囲の比率でカップリング剤と混合される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- ナノ粒子が酸化アルミニウムであり、ジカルボン酸がテレフタル酸(terephthalate acid)であり、且つカップリング剤がポリカルボジイミドである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- ポリエステルナノコンポジットが、第1の混合物を4%〜10%含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- ポリエステルが、少なくとも1つのポリエステル共重合体及びポリエステル−ポリマー混合物から選択される、請求項1に記載の方法。
