本発明の方法の特徴はアルカリ性溶液として(0.1−0.5)Nの濃度を有する水酸化ナトリウム(NaOH)溶液又は水酸化カリウム(KOH)溶液を使用することにある。
また、実験により、本発明者は、溶融炉への装入から開始して、連続玄武岩繊維を製造するまでの、本発明の組成物についての加工モードパラメーターを見出した。即ち、本発明の組成物(炉の装入物)をアルカリ溶液に15分間以下保持する場合、本発明の方法の効果は実際には確認することはできない。炉の装入物を20分以上、アルカリ溶液中に保持することは経済的に妥当ではない。
炉の装入物は流水で20分から30分間洗浄するが、その理由は、この時間は、溶融炉の壁の腐食を生じるアルカリ溶液を除去するのに十分であるからである。
提供される組成物は下記のごとき混入物を含有している(質量%):

それらの量は繊維表面の生じる沈殿物に類似する構造体の量に実際上影響を与えない。
本発明を実施することにより強力な連続玄武岩繊維が製造される。かく得られた連続繊維はより高い耐熱性と耐酸性を有する。
本発明の方法は下記のごとく行われる。
1.0〜5.0mmの分散水準まで粉砕した上記組成物を、0.5Nの濃度と+20°〜60℃の温度を有する水酸化ナトリウム(NaOH)溶液と水酸化カリウム(KOH)溶液を装入したタンクに導入した。かかる粉砕組成物を連続的に攪拌しながら溶液中に15〜20分保持した。ついで、溶液を注ぎ出し、粉砕装入物を流水で30分間洗浄した。ついで、装入物を該装入物中に圧送された空気により乾燥させた。処理されたかつ乾燥させた装入物を1400〜2000℃に設定された溶融炉に導入した。装入物から溶融物を形成させた。この溶融物をしばらく滞留させて均質化した。均質化した溶融物を、フィーダーと紡糸口金である繊維形成帯域に供給した。繊維形成帯域の温度は、生成させた溶融物の結晶化温度を超える水準に保持した。溶融物は円錐を形成する液滴の形で紡糸口金から吐出され、これはその重量が若干増大した後、紡糸口金から分離し、繊維を形成した。繊維の延伸(引張)は停止及び遅延することなしに実施した。繊維同志の相互の摩擦と付着を防止するために、繊維束に油性乳濁液を塗布した。連続した繊維形成は安定であった。

Claims (3)
- 二酸化けい素(SiO2)、酸化アルミニウム(Al2O3)、酸化チタン(TiO2)、酸化鉄と酸化第二鉄(Fe2O3 及びFeO)、酸化カルシウム(CaO)、酸化マグネシウム(MgO))、酸化マンガン(MnO)の混合物及び混入物を含む、連続玄武岩繊維製造用の組成物であって、該組成物は、更に、酸化カリウム(K2O)、酸化ナトリウム(Na2O)、酸化バリウム(BaO)を含有しており、そしてこれらの成分を下記の比率(質量%)

で含有していることを特徴とする連続玄武岩繊維製造用組成物。 - 請求項1に記載の組成物を粉砕し、粉砕した組成物を溶融炉に装入し、溶融し、溶融物を均質化し、その後、溶融炉フィーダー内の溶融物を安定化し、延伸し、繊維同志の付着を防止する表面処理を施し、すなわち油性乳濁液を塗布し、ついでボビン上に巻き取る操作を行うことからなる連続玄武岩繊維の製造方法において、粉砕した組成物を15〜20分間アルカリ性溶液中に保持し、ついで、20〜30分間流水で洗浄し、乾燥し、ついで、かかる洗浄及び乾燥を行った後、溶融炉に装入することを特徴とする連続玄武岩繊維の製造方法。
- 0.1〜0.5 Nの濃度を有する水酸化ナトリウム(NaOH) 溶液及び水酸化カリウム (KOH)溶液をアルカリ溶液として使用する、請求項2に記載の製造方法。
