Description
テルミット剤2と、
金属リチウム4を装填するリチウム剤室5と、
該テルミット剤2に点火するための点火装置6と、
該テルミット剤の反応熱により発生するリチウム蒸気を外部に放出するためのノズル7と、を具備することを特徴とするリチウム蒸気放出装置。
また、本発明のリチウム蒸気放出装置は、リチウム剤室の周囲にテルミット剤室を設け、該リチウム剤室の隔壁の一部に開口部を設けたことにより、テルミット反応による発熱を高効率でリチウム蒸気化に利用できる。すなわち、その開口部を所定の形状に設計することによりテルミット反応物を直接金属リチウムに伝達でき気化を完全にすることができる一方、リチウム気化によるリチウム室内の内圧上昇が開口部の存在によって抑制される効果もあり、未反応の固体及び/又は液体のリチウムが装置外に飛散することを防止できる。
さらに、本発明の装置にマグナリウム合金を配合したテルミット剤を使用することにより、従来のテルミット剤を用いるよりも緩和な反応とせしめる一方、リチウム気化に充分な反応熱を得ることができ、持続的にリチウム蒸気を放出することが可能である。
以上のことから本発明のリチウム蒸気放出装置は観測ロケットに搭載に求められる装置の安全性、耐久性、信頼性を満足することができる。
すなわち、この開口部によってテルミット剤室とリチウム室が連通されている。
該開口部12を設けることで、テルミット剤の反応熱が瞬時に高効率で金属リチウムに達し、テルミット剤溶融物が開口部よりリチウム剤室に流入し、金属リチウムの蒸気化を容易にせしめる。また、この開口部はリチウム蒸気の発生による内圧上昇を抑制し、リチウム室が破裂するのを防止する目的もある。
使用したリチウム剤室の大きさは高さ120mm、直径65mmの円筒状である。開口部は直径6mmの孔を垂直方向に3段設け、それを円筒円周の90°おきに4方向設けた結果、合計開口部を12箇所設けた。従って円筒の側壁部の面積に対する開口部面積で定義される開口率としては、13.56cm3/489.84cm3となり、2.77%であった。

- 鋼製容器内1に
テルミット剤2と、
金属リチウム4を装填するリチウム剤室5と、
該テルミット剤2に点火するための点火装置6と、
該テルミット剤の反応熱により発生するリチウム蒸気を外部に放出するためのノズル7と、を具備するリチウム蒸気放出装置において、
前記リチウム剤室5の隔壁の一部が開口し、テルミット剤2に連通していることを特徴とするリチウム蒸気放出装置。 - 鋼製容器1が、内部にリチウム剤室5が具備されてなり、該リチウム剤室5の外周にテルミット剤2が配設されてなる二重のキャニスター構造であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のリチウム蒸気放出装置。
- 前記リチウム剤室5の先端部にリチウム蒸気を放出するためのノズルが付設されてなることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載のリチウム蒸気放出装置。
- 前記テルミット剤2が、金属酸化物と単体金属還元剤とマグナリウム合金との混合組成物であることを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載のリチウム蒸気放出装置。
