[試験例1]
11Cr−9.5Ni系低変態温度溶接材料のワイヤを作製するためには、通常、その組成の合金を溶解し、線引き加工を行う。この素材では、線引きを行う段階で割れが発生することが多く、歩留まりは50%程度となっている。
[試験例2]
消耗電極式溶接では、溶接時に溶接ワイヤが安定に送給されなければ良好な溶接を行うことができない。溶接ワイヤが硬すぎると、送給抵抗が大きくなる。また、溶接ワイヤがコンタクトチップより著しく硬い場合には、コンタクトチップの摩耗が増え、目詰まりなどが生じて良好な溶接を行うことが困難になる。低変態温度溶接材料は、強度が1000MPa以上の高強度材であり、溶接ワイヤの送給に問題があるが、試験例1の溶接ワイヤは強度が600MPa以下であり、送給性が改善されると考えられる。
カリウム金属化合物として珪酸カリウム系水ガラス(化学組成:約25wt%SiO2、約15wt%K2O、約1wt%Na2O、残部水)を試験例1−3に示した溶接ワイヤにおける積層材の層間に塗布した。カリウム金属化合物は溶接ワイヤ内部に包含されるため、溶接ワイヤ送給時に剥がれることがなく、塗布状態を安定に保った。この溶接ワイヤを陽極とし、純アルゴンガス雰囲気中でアーク溶接した。図5(a)はカリウム金属化合物を層間に塗布しない場合、図5(b)はカリウム金属化合物を層間に塗布した場合を示している。カリウム金属化合物の層間塗布により、溶接ワイヤの溶融先端部(陽極点)でのアークの拡がりが抑制された。図6に図5に対応する写真を示した。
[実施例2]
図9に示したように、陰極安定化元素として希土類金属(REM)を含む組成の金属材料の層間に、陽極アーク安定化元素として実施例1と同じカリウム金属化合物が包含された溶接ワイヤを作製した。この溶接ワイヤを用いて純アルゴンガス中でアーク溶接した。図9に示したように、ワイヤ側の溶滴では、純アルゴンガス中でも陽極アーク安定化元素であるカリウムの共存効果によりアークが集中し、安定な溶滴移行が可能となった。溶融池側では、陰極安定化元素であるREMにより陰極点が集中し、アークが不安定に動き回ることがなかった。アーク溶接後の溶接部位の写真を図10に示した。アークが安定しているので、クリーニング域のない、より安定なビードが得られた。溶接部位の酸素含有量は56ppmであり、靭性に優れた溶接が可能であることが確認される。
Claims (6)
- フラックスを含まず、要求される組成となるような複数の金属材料を積層し、層間にアルカリ金属化合物を包含させたことを特徴とする溶接ワイヤ。
- アルカリ金属化合物がカリウム金属化合物であることを特徴とする請求の範囲1に記載の溶接ワイヤ。
- 金属材料またはカリウム金属化合物中に希土類金属化合物を混入させたことを特徴とする請求の範囲1または2に記載の溶接ワイヤ。
- 金属材料が異種の材料であることを特徴とする請求の範囲1ないし3いずれか一つに記載の溶接ワイヤ。
- 請求の範囲1ないし4いずれか一つに記載の溶接ワイヤを用いた溶接方法であって、不活性ガスを含有する不活性ガス雰囲気中で溶接することを特徴とする溶接方法。
- 不活性ガス雰囲気中の不活性ガスの濃度を95%超に制御することを特徴とする請求の範囲5に記載の溶接方法。
