Claims (19)
- 血管から塞栓物又はその他の粒子を除去するための細長い可撓性の吸引カテーテルであって、前記吸引カテーテルは、
吸引チューブであって、該吸引チューブの壁によって画成され、該吸引チューブの基端に配置された第1の液体ポートを該吸引チューブの先端に配置された第2の液体ポートへ流体的に接続する単一のルーメンと、該吸引チューブの壁の内部に封入された補強層と、変形した部分であって、該変形した部分が長軸と短軸を画定する楕円形の横断面を有することを特徴とする部分とを有する吸引チューブと、
ガイドワイヤ・チューブであって、前記吸引チューブの変形した部分だけに沿ってその外側に並列に延在してこれに固定されてルーメンが2本になった部分(以下、双ルーメン部分)を形成し、該双ルーメン部分において、前記短軸の延長線が前記ガイドワイヤ・チューブの長手方向に対して直交するように構成されることを特徴とし、医療用ガイドワイヤを摺動自在に受け入れられるように、長手方向に貫通する円形のルーメンを有して基端と先端にて開口することを特徴とするガイドワイヤ・チューブと、
前記第1の液体ポートと流体的に連通する前記吸引チューブの基端に装着されたフィッティングとを含み、
前記カテーテルの双ルーメン部分は、
前記吸引チューブの断面の長軸に沿って測定したときの第1の外側サイズと、前記吸引チューブの断面の短軸に沿って測定したときの第2の外側サイズとを有し、前記第1の外側サイズは前記第2の外側サイズの84%から98%の範囲にある
ことを特徴とする吸引カテーテル。 - 前記吸引チューブの前記変形部分は前記第1の液体ポートから前記第2の液体ポートまで連続して延在することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の吸引カテーテル。
- 前記吸引チューブの前記変形部分は前記第2の液体ポートから基端側に少なくとも10センチメートルの距離だけ延在することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の吸引カテーテル。
- 前記第2の外側サイズは1.73mm(0.068インチ)より小さいことを特徴とする請求項4に記載の吸引カテーテル。
- 前記カテーテルの双ルーメン部分において、前記吸引チューブの前記ルーメンは前記ガイドワイヤ・チューブのルーメンの断面積の少なくとも5倍の断面積を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の吸引カテーテル。
- 前記吸引チューブの前記ルーメンは前記ガイドワイヤ・チューブの前記ルーメンの断面積の少なくとも6倍の断面積を有することを特徴とする請求項5に記載の吸引カテーテル。
- 前記ガイドワイヤ・チューブは接着剤、溶剤ボンド、前記ガイドワイヤ・チューブと前記吸引チューブを包囲するオーバースリーブ(over sleeve)の中から選択した固定手段により前記吸引チューブへ固定されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の吸引カテーテル。
- 前記吸引チューブの壁はさらに
前記吸引チューブのルーメンを画成する内側表面を有するライナーと、
前記ライナーの周囲に配置されてこれに接着されたジャケットとを含み、補強層が前記ジャケットと前記ライナーの間に間置されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の吸引カテーテル。 - 前記ジャケットは前記吸引チューブの前記変形部分に沿った領域には存在せず前記ガイドワイヤ・チューブが前記補強層と前記ライナーに直接固定されるように構成されたことを特徴とする請求項8に記載の吸引チューブ。
- 前記ジャケットは前記カテーテルに沿って異なる係数を有する二つ以上の材料を含むことを特徴とする請求項9に記載の吸引カテーテル。
- 前記補強層は筒状編組体を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の吸引カテーテル。
- 前記筒状編組体は前記カテーテルに沿って異なるピックカウント(pick count)を有する二つ以上の部分を有することを特徴とする請求項11に記載の吸引カテーテル。
- 前記第2の液体ポートは前記ガイドワイヤ・チューブから離れる方向に向いた斜め開口部を形成することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の吸引カテーテル。
- 吸引カテーテルを作成する方法であって、
第1の細長い可撓性チューブであって、前記第1の細長い可撓性チューブの壁の内部に封入された補強層と、前記第1の細長い可撓性チューブを貫通する単一のルーメンとを有することを特徴とする第1の細長い可撓性チューブを提供するステップと、
第2の細長い可撓性チューブであって、その中を長手方向に貫通して延在し、基端と先端で開口することを特徴とする第2の細長い可撓性チューブを提供するステップと、
前記第2の細長い可撓性チューブを前記第1の細長い可撓性チューブに並列して固定して吸引カテーテルのルーメンが2本になった部分(以下、双ルーメン部分)を形成するステップと、
前記第1の細長い可撓性チューブを前記第2の細長い可撓性チューブに対して圧縮するステップであって、前記第1の細長い可撓性チューブは前記第1の細長い可撓性チューブの横断面が楕円形の形状に永久変形するまで充分に圧縮され、前記第2の細長い可撓性チューブはこれを貫通するマンドレルによって支持されて前記第1の細長い可撓性チューブの圧縮中に前記第2の細長い可撓性チューブの変形を防止することにより、前記カテーテルの双ルーメン部分が、前記吸引チューブの断面の長軸に沿って測定したときの第1の外側サイズと、前記吸引チューブの断面の短軸に沿って測定したときの第2の外側サイズとを有し、前記第1の外側サイズが前記第2の外側サイズの84%から98%の範囲になるように構成することを特徴とするステップと、
前記第2の細長い可撓性チューブの前記ルーメンから前記マンドレルを抜去するステップとを、
