Description
少なくとも一態様において、本発明は、第一主面及び第二主面を含む外部表面を有する多孔質マトリクスと、多孔質マトリクスの少なくとも一部の上の親水性ポリマー被覆とを含み、該親水性被覆は、親水性モノマーを含む配合物(formulation)の硬化生成物(cured product)を含んでなる。

Claims (17)
- 第一主面及び第二主面を含む外部表面を有する多孔質マトリクス;及び
該外部表面の少なくとも一部の上にある親水性ポリマー被覆
を有し、該親水性被覆が、親水性モノマーを含む配合物の硬化生成物を含み、該親水性モノマーはグリコールアクリレートまたはグリコールメタクリレートを含み、
該多孔質マトリクスは厚みを有し、該多孔質マトリクスは内部表面を規定する孔を有し、該多孔質マトリクス内の該孔の内部表面の少なくとも一部に該親水性ポリマー被覆が形成されており、
該孔の内部表面の少なくとも一部は該多孔質マトリクスの厚み全体にわたって被覆されている、多孔質拡散媒体。 - 該親水性被覆が、該拡散媒体の第一及び第二主面の1に沿って90°未満の接触角を画定するのに十分なほど親水性である、請求項1に記載の多孔質拡散媒体。
- 該親水性被覆が、該拡散媒体の第一及び第二主面の1に沿って25°未満の接触角を画定するのに十分なほど親水性である、請求項1に記載の多孔質拡散媒体。
- 該親水性被覆が、該拡散媒体の第一及び第二主面の1に沿って0°の接触角を画定するのに十分なほど親水性である、請求項1に記載の多孔質拡散媒体。
- 該多孔質マトリクスが、カーボンペーパー、グラファイトペーパー、布、フェルト、フォーム、カーボン又はグラファイト織物、カーボン又はグラファイト不織布、金属製スクリーン又はフォーム、及びこれらの組合わせの少なくとも1を含む導電性材料を含んでなる、請求項1に記載の多孔質拡散媒体。
- 該多孔質マトリクスが20μm〜1000μmの厚さを有し、該親水性被覆が1nm〜1
μmの厚さを有する、請求項4に記載の多孔質拡散媒体。 - 該親水性モノマーが、ポリエチレングリコールアクリレートを含む、請求項1に記載の多孔質拡散媒体。
- 該親水性モノマーがUV硬化可能である、請求項1に記載の多孔質拡散媒体。
- 該配合物が、ポリエチレングリコールアクリレート、ポリエチレングリコールジアクリレート、光開始剤、及び溶媒を含む、請求項8に記載の多孔質拡散媒体。
- 該多孔質拡散媒体がさらに疎水性材料を含む、請求項1に記載の多孔質拡散媒体。
- 該疎水性材料が、該拡散媒体の第一及び第二主面の1に沿って配置される、請求項10に記載の多孔質拡散媒体。
- 該多孔質拡散媒体が親水性ポリマー被覆の領域と、未被覆の領域とを含み、該親水性ポリマー被覆の領域と該未被覆の領域は、該拡散媒体の第一及び第二主面の少なくとも1にわたって交互に存在する、請求項1に記載の多孔質拡散媒体。
- 該多孔質拡散媒体が親水性ポリマー被覆の領域と、疎水性材料被覆の領域とを含む、請求項10に記載の多孔質拡散媒体。
- 該交互に存在する領域が、5cm未満の周期により特徴付けられる、請求項13に記載の多孔質拡散媒体。
- アノード;
カソード;
アノード及びカソード間に配置されたPEM;
アノード及びカソードの少なくとも1とPEMとの間に配置された拡散媒体
を含む燃料電池であって、
該拡散媒体は:
第一主面及び第二主面を含む外部表面を有する多孔質マトリクス;及び
該外部表面の少なくとも一部の上にある親水性ポリマー被覆
を含んでなり、
該親水性被覆は、親水性モノマーを含む配合物の硬化生成物を含み、該親水性モノマーはグリコールアクリレートまたはグリコールメタクリレートを含み、
該多孔質マトリクスは厚みを有し、該多孔質マトリクスは内部表面を規定する孔を有し、該多孔質マトリクス内の該孔の内部表面の少なくとも一部に該親水性ポリマー被覆が形成されており、
該孔の内部表面の少なくとも一部は該多孔質マトリクスの厚み全体にわたって被覆されている、燃料電池。 - 請求項1に記載の拡散媒体を製造する方法であって、次の工程:
多孔質マトリクスを準備する工程;及び
多孔質マトリクスの少なくとも一部を親水性ポリマー被覆で被覆する工程
を、この順で含む、方法。 - 該被覆する工程が、次の工程:
該多孔質マトリクスを、親水性モノマーを含む親水性配合物にさらして該多孔質マトリクス上に被覆前駆体を形成させる工程;
該前駆体が被覆された多孔質マトリクスの第一の部分をマスクし、一方、マスクされていないマトリクスの第二の部分を残す工程;及び
該前駆体が被覆された多孔質マトリクスをUV光へとさらし、該マトリクスの第二の部分上に該被覆前駆体をUV硬化させて、該第二の部分上に該親水性ポリマー被覆を形成させる工程
を、この順で含む、請求項16に記載の方法。
