Description
概して、緑色顔料パッケージ組成物は、硬化に先立ち、熱硬化樹脂を好ましくは約50から約90%、より好ましくは約60から約75%、最も好ましくは約60から約65%含む。ここにおける全てのパーセンテージは、重量に対するものである。熱硬化樹脂は、架橋可能な機能部位を有する熱可塑性高分子であれば、どのようなものでもよい。適する熱硬化樹脂のタイプとしては、ポリエステル、ウレタン、ビニルポリマー、アクリル、スチレン、芳香族ポリオレフィン、脂肪族ポリオレフィン、ポリカーボネート、それらの共重合体及び混合物等が挙げられる。好適な熱硬化樹脂は、ポリエステルである。ここにおいて有用なポリエステル樹脂としては、水酸基当量が約200から約1500、好ましくは約450から約650のものが挙げられる。適するポリエステル樹脂としては、SCD(登録商標)−1040、SCD−1060、SCD−16602、SCD−18263、SCD−19071 TX、及びSCD−6000を含む、Chagrin Falls,OhioのEtna Products Co.から販売されている数種が挙げられる。本発明での使用に適したその他のポリエステル樹脂としては、Cargullの66−6613樹脂;Cook Composites and PolymerによるChempol(登録商標)11−2339及びChempol11−3369樹脂;約62のOH値(70%固体)を与えるプロピレングリコールのモル過剰を有する、重量比で67:33のイソフタル酸及びアジピン酸混合物の縮合産物と推定される、ReichholdによるAROPLAZ(登録商標)6025−Z−70と同様、Reichhold Coから販売されているポリエステルの商標であるKelsol(登録商標)301;King Industriesから販売されるK−Flex(登録商標)188;及びSolutia Co.から販売されるポリエステルの商標であるResydrol(登録商標)VAN 6098等が挙げられる。さらに、本発明における使用に適したポリエステルの詳細は、米国特許番号5,262,820号、及び米国特許番号5,262,494号に記載された高度の環式脂肪族ポリエステルに規定されている。これら両方の特許は、参照することによりここに組み込まれる。好適なポリエステルは、油分を含まない熱硬化性ポリエステル樹脂であり、529の水酸基当量を有するEtnaのSCD−6000である。
架橋樹脂は、顔料を有する熱硬化樹脂と架橋を形成する。それらの間の架橋密度が、最終的な合わせガラスパネルの強度を決定する。ここで、顔料パッケージ組成物は一つ以上の架橋剤を約5から約15重量%、好ましくは約8から約15重量%、さらに好ましくは約10から約12重量%含む。前記のパーセンテージは、硬化前のものである。
顔料は基本的に、ガラス構造へ色彩や不透明性を与えるために使用できるあらゆる有機または無機着色剤、顔料、または染料を適用することができる。本発明の顔料パッケージ組成物には様々な顔料の装填が可能であるが、通常、一つ以上の顔料を約2から約20重量%、好ましくは約5から約15重量%、より好ましくは約7から10重量%含有する。美的、保護、またはその両方の目的により、ウィンドシールドの周辺に不透明な日光遮断バンドを設置するために、黒色、濃色、または不透明顔料を使用することができる。一般的な保護目的は、ウィンドシールドを車のフレームへ保持する接着剤を、太陽光による劣化から保護することにある。
溶剤としては、エチレングリコール、プロピレングリコール及びヘキシレングリコール等のグリコール;アルファ−またはベータ−テルピネオール;Dowanol(登録商標)(ジエチレングリコールモノエチルエーテル)等の高沸点アルコール;Butyl Carbitol(登録商標)(ジエチレングリコールモノブチルエーテル);Dibutyl Carbitol(登録商標)(ジエチレングリコールジブチルエーテル);Butyl Carbitol Acetate(登録商標)(ジエチレングリコールモノブチルエーテルアセテート);Texanol(登録商標)(2,2,4−トリメチル−1,3−ペンタンジオールモノイソブチレート)が、他のアルコールエステル、ケロシン、及びフタル酸ジブチルと同様に挙げられる。Texanol(登録商標)の商標で販売されている製品は、Kingsport, TNのEastman Chemical Companyより入手できる。Dowanol(登録商標)及びCarbitol(登録商標)の商標で販売されている製品は、Midland, MIのDow Chemical Co.より入手することができる。
分散用界面活性剤は、不溶性微粒子の無機顔料を使用する際に、顔料のぬれを補助する。分散用界面活性剤は、通常、顔料親和性基をもつブロック共重合体を含有する。例えば、Disperbyk 162及び163のような、ドイツのByk Chemie of WeselよりDisperbyk(登録商標)及びByk(登録商標)の商標で販売されている界面活性剤は、顔料親和性基をもつ高分子量のブロック共重合体と、溶剤(キシレン、ブチルアセテート及びメトキシプロピルアセテート)の混合物との溶液である。Disperbyk 162は、これらの溶剤を3/1/1の比で有し、Disperbyk 163における前記比は、4/2/5である。Disperbyk 140は、酸性ポリマーのアルキルアンモニウム塩の、メトキシプロピルアセテート溶剤における溶液である。
レオロジー調整剤は、緑色顔料パッケージ組成物の粘度を調整するために使用される。レオロジー調整剤としては、Byk Chemieより入手可能な、Byk(登録商標)、Disperplast(登録商標)、及びViscobyk(登録商標)の商標で販売されているものを含め、多種多様なものが使用できる。それらには、例えば、BYK 411及びBYK 420等のBYK 400シリーズ(変性尿素溶液);BYK W−900シリーズ(顔料のぬれ性及び分散性付加剤);Disperplastシリーズ(プラスチゾル及びオルガノゾル用顔料のぬれ性及び分散性付加剤);及びViscobykシリーズ(プラスチゾル及びオルガノゾル用粘度抑制剤)が含まれる。
流動性改質剤は、顔料組成物の粘度及びレオロジーを制御するために使用される添加物であり、制御された予見可能な形で液系の流動性に作用する。レオロジー調整剤は、一般的に偽塑性かまたは揺変性(チキソトロピック)であると考えられている。本発明に適した界面活性剤としては、UCB Surface Specialties of Smyrna, GeorgiaによってAdditol(登録商標)、Multiflow(登録商標)、及びModaflow(登録商標)の商標で販売されているものが挙げられる。例えば、Additol VXW 6388、Additol VXW 6360、Additol VXL 4930、Additol XL 425、Additol XW 395、Modaflow AQ 3000、Modaflow AQ 3025、Modaflow Resin、及びMultiflow Resinがある。
ポリマー及び充填剤間の親和性を向上させるために、接着を促進するポリマーが使用される。適する接着促進剤としては、GE Silicones of Wilton, ConneticutによってSilquest(登録商標)、CoatOSil(登録商標)、NXT(登録商標)、XL−Pearl(登録商標)、及びSilcat(登録商標)の商標で販売されているものが挙げられる。例として、Silquest(登録商標)の商標で販売されている次の製品番号のもの、すなわち、A1101、A1102、A1126、A1128、A1130、A1230、A1310、A162、A174、A178、A187、A2120が挙げられる。例えば、Silquest(登録商標) A−187は、エポキシシラン接着促進剤である(3−グリシドオキシプロピル)トリメトキシシランである。本発明者らは、アミンまたはアミドと架橋した芳香族エポキシが、受け容れ難い結果を引き起こすことをここに見出した。Degussa AG of Dusseldorf, GermanyによってDynasylan(登録商標)の商標で販売されているシランもまた、本発明に適している。ここで最も好ましいものは、Silquest A187である。
酸触媒は、要求温度の低下、反応速度の上昇、またはその両方によるアミノプラスト樹脂とポリエステルの硬化パラメータを制御するために使用することができる。使用される触媒の量及びタイプは、選択される熱硬化樹脂及び架橋剤による。しかしながら、本発明にかかる顔料パッケージ組成物は、一般に、触媒を約0.1から約2.0重量%、好ましくは0.2から約1.5%、より好ましくは0.7から約1.4%含む。常温保存において硬化率を下げることが望ましい場合、アミンまたはその他の適当な遮断剤で酸触媒をブロックすることができる。揮発性アミンは、触媒が加熱によってブロックされない場合に硬化フィルムから逃れることができるため、この目的に適している。トリエタノールアミンのような遊離アミンの添加によっても、硬化は減速する。また、ポリエステル上の水酸基との酸触媒の電位反応は、ブタノール及び2−エチルヘキサノール等の非揮発性アルコールを相対的に加えることによってもブロックされる。このようなアルコールもまた、パッケージ中に粘度安定性をもたらす。それらは、ポリエステルのアミノプラストとの反応を抑制する。
光またはUV安定剤は、その作用機序によって分類される。すなわち、紫外線からポリマーを保護することによって作用するUV遮断剤、または光酸化過程において形成されるラジカル中間体を除去することによって作用する光安定剤(HALS)である。本発明の組成物は、約0.1から約2重量%、好ましくは約0.5から約1.5%の光安定剤を含み、さらに約0.1から約4重量%、好ましくは約1から3%のUV遮断剤を含む。
本発明の顔料パッケージ組成物は、自動車、建築物、建造物、家庭電化製品、及び飲料用ガラス産業、例えば、車のウィンドシールド及びその他の自動車ガラス、住宅及び商業用窓、セラミック流し台及び飲料用ボトルを含む、様々なガラス基板の着色及び装飾に使用することができる。例えば、セラミックエナメル組成物は、自動車ガラスの窓枠の周辺に、着色及び/または紫外線抵抗性を施した縁を形成するために使用され得る。本発明の顔料パッケージ組成物に銅または銀等の伝導性成分を添加すれば、加熱ガラスウィンドシールドのような機能性コーティングの形成に使用することができる。

Claims (20)
- 次の(a)〜(d)を含むことを特徴とする装飾ガラス構造の形成方法。
(a)硬化前に第一ガラス基板へ、下記(i)〜(iii)を含む有機顔料パッケージを適用する段階、
(i)架橋可能な熱硬化樹脂、
(ii)熱硬化樹脂を架橋することのできる架橋剤、及び、
(iii)顔料、
(b)第一基板上に硬化層を形成するために、前記架橋剤及び熱硬化樹脂を硬化する段階、
(c)アセタール層及び前記硬化層が、第一基板と第二ガラス基板の間に位置するように、硬化層上にアセタール層及び第二のガラス基板を積層する段階、
(d)前記アセタール層を流動させ、アセタール層を硬化層と相互浸透させるため、第一及び第二積層ガラス基板を加熱する段階。 - 硬化する前に、架橋剤及び熱硬化樹脂が、約0.2から約1.2の当量比で含まれていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 硬化する前に、架橋剤及び熱硬化樹脂が、約0.4から約0.9の当量比で含まれていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 架橋剤がメラミン−ホルムアルデヒドであり、熱硬化樹脂がポリエステルであって、且つ、硬化前における架橋剤のポリエステルに対する当量比が、約0.45から約0.7であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 熱硬化樹脂が、ポリエステル、ウレタン、ビニルポリマー、アクリル、スチレン、ポリオレフィン、ポリカーボネート、その共重合体及び混合物からなる群より選択されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 架橋剤が、アミン、アミノ樹脂、アミド樹脂、イソシアネート、尿素、及びジアルデヒドからなる群より選択されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 架橋剤が、メラミン、アセトグアナミン、ベンゾグアナミン、尿素、及びその組み合わせからなる群より選択されることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の方法。
- 架橋剤が、ジフェニルメタンジイソシアネート、トルエンジイソシアネート、ヘキサメチレンジイソシアネート、ナフタレンジイソシアネート、メチレンビス−シクロへキシルイソシアネート、イソホロンジイソシアネート、メチルイソシアネート、及びポリメチレンポリフェニルイソシアネートからなる群より選択されることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の方法。
- 架橋剤が、完全にアルキル化されたメラミンホルムアルデヒド樹脂、部分的にアルキル化されたメラミン−ホルムアルデヒド樹脂、及び高イミノ化したメラミンホルムアルデヒド樹脂からなる群より選択されることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記顔料パッケージが、さらに(a)〜(f)の少なくとも一つを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
(a)界面活性剤、
(b)接着促進剤、
(c)酸触媒、
(d)光安定剤、
(e)溶剤、
(f)レオロジー調整剤。 - 前記顔料が、アゾ染料、シアニン染料、ピリジン染料、ジオキサン染料、スチルベン染料、クマリン染料、ローダミン染料、オキサジン染料、キノン染料、アントラキノン染料、及びナフタルイミド染料、キナクリドン、フタロシアニンブルー、フタロシアニングリーン、ジスアゾイエロー、ジブロモアントアントロン、ジオキサンバイオレット、1,4−ビス(2−メチルスチリル)ベンゼン、及びトランス−4,4'−ジフェニルスチルベンからなる群より選択されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記顔料が、鉄顔料、コバルト顔料、カドミウム顔料、クロム顔料、銅水銀顔料、チタン顔料、亜鉛顔料、鉛顔料、マグネシウム顔料、マンガン顔料、及びバナジウム顔料からなる群より選択されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記顔料が、カーボンブラック、二酸化チタン、Fe2O3、Fe3O4、V2O5、CoO−Al2O3−TiO2−Cr2O3、CoO−Al2O3、CeO2、ZrO2、酸化亜鉛、マグネシウムフェライト、硫化水銀、硫セレン化カドミウム、クロム酸モリブデン、ジルコン、銅クロムブラック、鉄ニッケルマンガンクロムブラック、コバルトアルミニウムブルー、亜鉛鉄クロムブラウン、鉄コバルトクロムからなる群より選択されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記顔料パッケージが、
(a)約60から約85重量%の熱硬化樹脂+架橋剤と、
(b)約5から約15重量%の顔料と、
(c)さらに溶剤と、
を含み、
前記溶剤が、約3から約15重量%の範囲で顔料パッケージ中に存在していることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記顔料パッケージの組成が、下記(a)〜(i)を含むものであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
(a)約60から約65重量%の熱硬化樹脂、
(b)約7から約13重量%の架橋剤、
(c)約5から約10重量%の顔料、
(d)約0.1から約1重量%の界面活性剤、
(e)約0.1から約3重量%のレオロジー調整剤、
(f)約0.1から約1重量%の接着促進剤、
(g)約0.1から約4重量%の光安定剤/遮蔽剤、
(h)約5から約15重量%の溶剤、
(i)約0.1から約2重量%の触媒。 - 前記熱硬化樹脂が、約200から約1500の水酸基当量を有するポリエステル樹脂であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記装飾ガラス構造が、自動車ガラスの平面部であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 有機顔料パッケージを第一ガラス基板へ適用する前に、第一及び第二ガラス基板が曲げられることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 第一ガラス基板へ有機顔料パッケージを適用する(a)段階の間に、スクリーン印刷、ロールコーティング、エアアシスト噴霧、エアレス噴霧、インクジェット、回転スクリーン印刷、熱転写リボン、静電ディスク、及び静電ベルからなる群より選択される技術が使用されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 第一及び第二ガラス基板が、顔料組成物を適用する前に曲げられ、
前記顔料組成物がインクジェット印刷によって第一ガラス基板へ適用されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
