Description
− 2つの同軸電極、すなわち中央電極と呼ばれる、軸を有する内部電極と、中央電極を囲む、本体と呼ばれる外部電極と、
− 中央電極と本体の間に設けられ、環状の肩部を有する、絶縁体と呼ばれる環状の電気的絶縁ブロックと
を備える。
絶縁体の温度を上げるために通常用いられる手法は、プラグの動作温度が高くなりすぎるとプラグの過早点火が発生することにより制限される。
このため本発明は、絶縁体が環状の溝を備えることを特徴とする、上述したタイプのプラグを提供する。
本発明の他の特徴によれば、溝は長方形の断面を有する。
本発明の他の特徴によれば、溝は三角形の断面を有する。
同等の又は同様の要素は、同じ参照番号で示されている。
第1の実施形態によれば、図2に示すように、環状の溝8は長方形の断面を有する。
第2の実施形態によれば、図3に示すように、環状の溝8が三角形の断面を有する。
高さhにより、絶縁体4の内部に熱源が付加される。高さhは、絶縁体に流入する熱流量分布を変える集熱面積によって変動する。
Claims (4)
- 基本的に全体が細長い形状の、自動車の内燃機関用のスパークプラグ(1)であって、
− 中央電極(3)と呼ばれ、軸(D)を有する内部電極と、中央電極(3)を囲む、本体(2)と呼ばれる外部電極とから構成される2つの同軸電極、及び
− 絶縁体(4)と呼ばれる電気的絶縁ブロックであって、中央電極(3)と本体(2)の間に設けられ、環状の肩部(5)を有する環状のブロックを備え、
絶縁体(4)が、肩部(5)に位置する環状の溝(8)を備え、
絶縁体(4)の熱抵抗が、溝(8)のサイズを変更することにより調整されることを特徴とする、スパークプラグ。 - 溝(8)が絶縁体(4)内部の熱抵抗であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のスパークプラグ(1)。
- 溝(8)が長方形の断面を有することを特徴とする、請求項1又は2に記載のスパークプラグ(1)。
- 溝(8)が三角形の断面を有することを特徴とする、請求項1又は2に記載のスパークプラグ(1)。
