Description
以上説明した実施の形態の画像読取装置300は各種の変形が可能である。まず、第1に、図5に示した光学系では第1〜第4の反射ミラー206〜209を用いて光線の反射を行ったが、光学レンズユニット211と上下に重ならないような配置空間内に、反射ミラーを適宜の枚数で配置することによっても、薄型の画像読取装置300を実現することができる。また、本実施の形態では2個の反射ミラーについてこれらの2箇所で光線の反射を行うことにしたが、1個の反射ミラーについてその2箇所で光線の反射を行うようにしてもよいし、3個の反射ミラーについてその2箇所で光線の反射を行うようにしてもよい。もちろん、反射ミラーのいずれかについて3箇所で光線の反射を行うことも光路長の増大に貢献することができる。

Claims (2)
- 原稿の読取面を照射する光源と、前記原稿の読取面と垂直方向に所定の距離を置いてその光電変換面を配置した読取素子と、この読取素子に対向し前記原稿の反射光を結像させる光学レンズと、この光学レンズの入射側に位置する特定の空間領域内に配置され、前記原稿の反射光を最初に入射する第1の反射ミラーに至る光路が前記光学レンズの光軸と交差するように第1の反射ミラーを配置すると共に、第1の反射ミラーによるこの反射光が第2の反射ミラーに至る光路が前記光学レンズの光軸と交差するように第2の反射ミラーを配置し、全体として複数枚の反射ミラーから構成される反射ミラー群とを具備するモジュールであって、そのモジュール底部に配置する固定枠としての板金で形成されたモジュールステイの水平面をなす所定の基準面上に、前記光学レンズのユニットを取り付けたレンズブラケットと、前記読取素子の基板を取り付けたCCDブラケットと、前記反射ミラー群を構成する全反射ミラーを同一の金属性のフレームで固定したミラーフレームの底部とが同一面をなすように配置され、原稿を主走査方向に走査してその画像を読み取る光学モジュールと、
装置本体を構成する筐体の一部をなす底面板の一端部を直角に折り曲げて垂直に立ち上げることで、前記光学モジュールの副走査方向に沿って1本だけ配置されたガイドレールと、
前記光学モジュールの主走査方向の一側部に配置され、その一端部の断面がコ字状のガイド部を成し、全体として杓子(しゃくし)を伏せた形のガイド部を形成しており、杓子の柄の部分に相当する他端部が前記モジュールステイの基準面に主走査方向にその位置を調整自在にネジ止めされたガイドブラケットと、
このガイドブラケットの前記ガイド部を構成するコ字状に折れ曲がった部分における前記基準面と直角方向をなし前記副走査方向に沿って配置された2つの対向壁のうちの前記杓子の柄の部分から遠い位置にある第1の対向壁に所定の間隔を置いて複数個取り付けられ、前記ガイドレールの第1の側面と摺接する樹脂製の第1のスライダと、
前記ガイドレールに前記ガイド部を被せるように配置した状態で、前記2つの対向壁に挟まれた空間領域に位置するモジュールステイの側壁に前記第1のスライダと対向するように間隔を置いて複数個取り付けられ前記ガイドレールの第2の側面と摺接する樹脂製の第2のスライダと、
前記第1のスライダと第2のスライダが前記ガイドレールの両側面に所定の圧力で摺接するように前記ガイドブラケットを前記モジュールステイにネジ止めした状態で、これらのスライダを介して前記光学モジュールに対して副走査方向に移動する力を与える駆動手段
とを具備することを特徴とする画像読取装置。 - 前記第1のスライダと第2のスライダは、2個ずつ互いに対向する位置に配置されていることを特徴とする請求項1記載の画像読取装置。
