Description
Claims (3)
- 矩形のガラス薄板からなる第1基板と第2基板の貼り合せ間隙に液晶を封入した液晶表示パネルと、液晶表示パネルの外周辺を嵌合して保持する樹脂モールドフレームとを有する液晶表示装置であって、
前記液晶表示パネルは、前記第2基板の3辺は前記第1基板の3辺と同一側面を構成し、残りの1辺が該第1基板の対応する辺の端縁から内側に後退した位置にあり、前記第1基板は前記第2基板の当該後退で露出した前記第1基板の内面に搭載された駆動回路チップを有し、
矩形の前記第1基板は露出した部分に角部を有し、前記角部を構成する一方の辺は前記第1基板と前記第2基板の重なり部とを有し、前記角部を構成する他方の辺は第1基板のみで構成され、
前記樹脂モールドフレームの前記液晶表示パネルを嵌合して保持する内壁が、前記駆動回路チップを搭載した前記第1基板の内面と前記第2基板の前記後退した前記残りの1辺とが重なる部分よりも前記同一側面を構成する3辺の各衝合する角側に寄った位置から前記第1基板が露出した部分の前記角部を含み、且つ前記他方の辺に対向した位置まで前記液晶表示パネルとの接触を阻止する如く除去されていることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1において、
前記樹脂モールドフレームの前記液晶表示パネルを嵌合して保持する内壁が、前記同一側面を構成する3辺の各衝合する角部で隣接する両辺に回り込んだ位置に前記液晶表示パネルとの接触を阻止する如く除去されていることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 第1の基板と第2の基板を張り合わせたパネルと、前記パネルの外周を囲む樹脂モールドフレームとを有する表示装置であって、
前記第1基板と前記第2基板は矩形であり、前記パネルは前記第1基板と前記第2基板の重なり合う重なり部と、前記第1基板で構成される一枚部を含む辺を有し、前記パネルは前記一枚部で構成される角部を有し、
前記樹脂モールドフレームは前記一枚部の角部を囲む切り欠き部を有し、前記切り欠き部は前記一枚部と前記重なり部とに対向して形成されていることを特徴とする表示装置。
