前記一方の基板にマトリックス状に形成された複数のゲート信号線と複数のドレイン信号線と、
前記ゲート信号線とドレイン信号線によって定義される複数の画素領域と、
前記画素領域内に形成された基準電極および画素電極とを有し、
前記複数の画素領域は、表示領域と非表示領域の何れにも形成され、
前記非表示領域の画素領域内の前記画素電極には、前記基準電極に印加される電圧が印加されることを特徴とする液晶表示装置であって、
前記非表示領域内の画素領域の画素電極に基準電圧を印加するための基準電圧供給信号線が前記画素電極から直接引き出され、前記基準電圧供給信号線は前記ドレイン信号線と平行に形成され、前記基準電圧供給信号線の線幅は前記ドレイン信号線の線幅よりも太いことを特徴とする。
前記表示領域と非表示領域の前記コモン信号線は、何れも同層および同パターンからなることを特徴とする。
前記非表示領域内の画素領域は、前記薄膜トランジスタを備えていないことを特徴とする。
(7)本発明による液晶表示装置は、たとえば、(6)の構成を前提とし、前記基準電圧供給信号線の線幅は、前記基準電極の幅と実質的に同一であることを特徴とする。
(8)本発明による液晶表示装置は、たとえば、(1)の構成を前提とし、前記非表示領域の画素領域に重畳する位置には、遮光膜が形成されることを特徴とする。
Claims (8)
- 液晶を介して対向配置される一対の基板と、
前記一方の基板にマトリックス状に形成された複数のゲート信号線と複数のドレイン信号線と、
前記ゲート信号線とドレイン信号線によって定義される複数の画素領域と、
前記画素領域内に形成された基準電極および画素電極とを有し、
前記複数の画素領域は、表示領域と非表示領域の何れにも形成され、
前記非表示領域の画素領域内の前記画素電極には、前記基準電極に印加される電圧が印加されることを特徴とする液晶表示装置であって、
前記非表示領域内の画素領域の画素電極に基準電圧を印加するための基準電圧供給信号線が前記画素電極から直接引き出され、前記基準電圧供給信号線は前記ドレイン信号線と平行に形成され、前記基準電圧供給信号線の線幅は前記ドレイン信号線の線幅よりも太いことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記非表示領域内であり、前記基準電極と重複しない位置に、前記ゲート信号線と平行に配置される非表示領域配線を備え、前記非表示領域配線には前記基準電極に印加される電圧が印加されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記非表示領域配線は、前記ゲート信号線と同層に形成されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記表示領域と非表示領域の画素領域には、その行方向に配列される各画素領域の基準電極に共通に接続されるコモン信号線が備えられ、
前記表示領域と非表示領域の前記コモン信号線は、何れも同層および同パターンからなることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記表示領域内の画素領域は、前記ゲート信号線からのゲート信号によって動作し、この動作によって前記ドレイン信号線からの映像信号を前記画素電極に供給させる薄膜トランジスタを備え、
前記非表示領域内の画素領域は、前記薄膜トランジスタを備えていないことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記基準電極は、矩形状の形状であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記基準電圧供給信号線の線幅は、前記基準電極の幅と実質的に同一であることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記非表示領域の画素領域に重畳する位置には、遮光膜が形成されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
