Claims (6)
- 燃料電池のスタック内に組み込んで燃料電池発電装置を形成するための燃料電池反応物ガス流れ区域プレート(53、82、104)であって、前記プレートが反応物ガス流れ通路(71)を形成する複数の溝を有し、前記通路のそれぞれが、入口部分と出口部分であって、これらの間に延びる長手流れ方向に沿って反応物ガスを導くための入口部分および出口部分を有し、
前記流れ区域プレートが流れ入口端部(61)および流れ出口端部(62)を有し、(a)前記入口部分が前記入口端部から、そこを、またはその近傍を長手方向に延び、(b)前記出口部分が前記出口端部から、そこを、またはその近傍を長手方向に延び、前記通路のそれぞれが、前記長手方向に交差する横方向に延び、(c)前記入口部分(図10)のうちの1つだけと、もしくは前記出口部分のうちの1つだけと連通しているか、または(d)前記入口部分の1つと前記出口部分の1つとの間で連通している(図6〜図9、および図11)、交差部分(73)を有し、その結果、前記入口部分が前記出口部分から、前記長手方向に交差する横方向にずれている流れ区域プレートであって、
前記交差部分の全部ではなく(77; 109、115)、一部(78、79; 103、104; 111、112; 117、118)が複数の溝を有し、
前記交差部分の全部が一緒になって、前記長手方向のある長さ、および前記長手方向を横断するある幅を有する交差流れ区域領域を形成し、前記交差流れ区域領域内の溝の数と、前記交差流れ区域領域内の交差通路部分の数の比が、前記交差流れ区域領域の長さまたは幅と、前記交差流れ区域領域の幅または長さとのアスペクト比程度であり、
前記プレートがその中に少なくとも1つの孔(57、58、89、90)を有し、各孔が別の燃料電池反応物ガス流れ区域プレートの対応する孔と共に内部マニホールドを形成するためのものであり、各孔が前記溝の幅の少なくとも数倍の2つの寸法を有し、
前記孔に触れずに通過するために、前記入口部分が前記出口部分から、前記長手方向に交差する横方向にずれていることを含む改良を特徴とする流れ区域プレート。 - 前記通路が貫流(flow−through)通路であり(図6〜図9、および図11)、前記交差部分のそれぞれが、前記各入口部分の1つと前記各出口部分の1つとの間で流体連通していることを特徴とする請求項1記載の流れ区域プレート。
- 前記通路が交互嵌合形であり(図10)、前記交差部分のそれぞれが、(a)1つの入口部分の第1の部分(110)と、前記1つの入口部分の前記第1の部分と交差している前記1つの入口部分の第2の部分(111、112)との間で、あるいは(b)1つの出口部分の第1の部分(116)と、前記1つの出口部分の前記第1の部分と交差している前記1つの出口部分の第2の部分(117、118)との間で流体連通している少なくとも1つの溝を含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載の流れ区域プレート。
- 前記交差部分の一部が、(a)前記入口部分(111、112)のうちの1つ、または(b)前記出口部分(117、118)のうちの1つのどちらか一方の部分だけと流体連通している少なくとも1つの溝を含むことを特徴とする請求項3記載の流れ区域プレート。
- 前記交差部分の一部が2本の溝を有することを特徴とする請求項1記載の流れ区域プレート。
- 前記交差部分のいずれも2本を超える溝を有さないことを特徴とする請求項1記載の流れ区域プレート。
