Claims (3)
- インクを吐出する記録ヘッドと、インクカートリッジからインク供給管を介して供給されたインクを貯留し前記記録ヘッドに供給するインク貯留部とが設けられ、前記インクカートリッジが前記インク供給管に着脱可能に接続される記録装置において、
前記インク貯留部に溜まった空気を排出させる排気動作を行う排気機構と、前記排気動作を所定時間毎に周期的に行うように前記排気機構を制御する制御手段と、前回の排気動作が行われてからのインクカートリッジの着脱回数を計数する着脱計数手段とが備えられ、
前記排気機構には、前記インク貯留部に連通された排気通路と、前記排気通路に設けられた排気バルブと、前記排気バルブを開閉させる操作手段とが備えられ、
前記排気動作を行う前記所定時間間隔内で、前記着脱計数手段で計数する着脱回数が所定値を超えたとき、前記制御手段はさらに前記排気機構の前記操作手段を制御して前記インク貯留部から排気動作を行うことを特徴とする記録装置。 - 前記記録ヘッドおよび前記インク貯留部は、装置本体に対して移動可能なキャリッジに搭載され、
前記排気動作の完了後には、前記インク貯留部に所定量の空気が残留するように、前記排気通路の一端が前記インク貯留部の天井面から内部に所定寸法だけ垂下されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の記録装置。 - 前記記録ヘッドおよび前記インク貯留部は、装置本体に対して移動可能なキャリッジに搭載され、
前記インクカートリッジは、装置本体の収納部に着脱可能に設けられ、
前記インクカートリッジのインクは、可撓性を有する前記インク供給管を介して前記インク貯留部に供給されることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の記録装置。
