Description
主要量の潤滑粘度の油、
該高荷重ディーゼルエンジンの作動の間での堆積物の生成を抑制するのに十分な量の過塩基性清浄添加剤、
該高荷重ディーゼルエンジンの高温作動の間での堆積物の生成を抑制するのに十分な量の、TBNが25以下の中性アルカリ又はアルカリ土類金属スルホネート、および
該高荷重ディーゼルエンジンの作動の間摩耗を防止するのに十分な量の分散状のアルカリ金属ホウ酸塩水和物。
主要量の潤滑粘度の油、
該高荷重ディーゼルエンジンの作動の間の堆積物の生成を抑制するのに十分な量の過塩基性清浄添加剤、
該高荷重ディーゼルエンジンの高温作動の間の堆積物の生成を抑制するのに十分な量の、TBNが25以下の中性アルカリ又はアルカリ土類金属スルホネート、および
該高荷重ディーゼルエンジンの作動の間摩耗を防止するのに十分な量の分散状のアルカリ金属ホウ酸塩水和物。
アルカリ金属ホウ酸塩水和物は当該分野ではよく知られている。好適なホウ酸塩および製造方法が開示されている代表的な特許としては下記のものが挙げられ:米国特許第3313727号、第3819521号、第3853772号、第3912643号、第3997454号及び第4089790号、その開示内容も全て参照として本明細書の記載とする。

過塩基性清浄添加剤は当該分野ではよく知られていて、アルカリ又はアルカリ土類金属の過塩基性清浄添加剤であることが好ましい。そのような清浄添加剤は、金属酸化物または金属水酸化物と基質および二酸化炭素ガスとを反応させることにより製造される。基質は、一般には酸であり、通常は脂肪族置換スルホン酸、脂肪族置換カルボン酸および脂肪族置換フェノールからなる群より選ばれる酸である。

アルカリ又はアルカリ土類金属中性スルホネートについては、対応するスルホン酸の中和反応に用いられるMRをTBNが約25以下の組成物を与えるように制御すること、そしてこの中和過程で二酸化炭素を使用しないことを除いては、前に述べている。中性アルカリ又はアルカリ土類金属スルホネートのTBNは15以下であることが好ましい。中和反応過程で用いられるMRは1乃至約3であることがより好ましく、そして更に好ましくはMRは約1である。
本発明の組成物および方法に使用される潤滑粘度の油は、内燃機関のクランクケースでの使用に適した粘度の鉱油であっても合成油であってもよい。基油は、合成または天然の原料から誘導することができる。本発明で基油として使用される鉱油としては、パラフィン系、ナフテン系、および通常潤滑油組成物に使用されるその他の油を挙げることができる。合成油としては、炭化水素合成油と合成エステルの両方を挙げることができる。使用できる合成炭化水素油としては、適正な粘度を持つアルファオレフィンの液体重合体が挙げられる。特に有用なものは、C6〜C12のアルファオレフィンの水素化液体オリゴマー、例えば1−デセン三量体である。同様に、適正な粘度のアルキルベンゼン、例えばジドデシルベンゼンも使用することができる。使用できる合成エステルとしては、モノカルボン酸およびポリカルボン酸と、モノヒドロキシアルカノールおよびポリオールとのエステルが挙げられる。代表的な例としては、ジドデシルアジペート、ペンタエリトリトールテトラカプロエート、ジ−2−エチルヘキシルアジペート、およびジラウリルセバケート等がある。モノ及びジカルボン酸とモノ及びジヒドロキシアルカノールとの混合物から合成された複合エステルも使用することができる。鉱油と合成油のブレンドも有用である。
本発明の組成物は、下記の成分を含むことが好ましい:
潤滑粘度の油、
高荷重ディーゼルエンジンの作動中、堆積物の生成を抑制するのに十分な量の分散状のアルカリ金属ホウ酸塩水和物、
該高荷重ディーゼルエンジンの高温作動中、堆積物の生成を抑制するのに十分な量の、TBNが25以下の中性アルカリ又はアルカリ土類金属スルホネート、
高荷重ディーゼルエンジンの作動中、摩耗を防止するのに十分な量の過塩基性清浄添加剤、および
任意の添加剤。
(a)フェノール型酸化防止剤:4,4’−メチレンビス(2,6−ジ−tert−ブチルフェノール)、4,4’−ビス(2,6−ジ−tert−ブチルフェノール)、4,4’−ビス(2−メチル−6−tert−ブチルフェノール)、2,2’−メチレンビス(4−メチル−6−tert−ブチルフェノール)、4,4’−ブチレンビス(3−メチル−6−tert−ブチルフェノール)、4,4’−イソプロピレンビス(2,6−ジ−tert−ブチルフェノール)、2,2’−メチレンビス(4−メチル−6−ノニルフェノール)、2,2’−イソブチレンビス(4,6−ジメチルフェノール)、2,2’−メチレンビス(4−メチル−6−シクロヘキシルフェノール)、2,6−ジ−tert−ブチル−4−メチルフェノール、2,6−ジ−tert−ブチル−4−エチルフェノール、2,4−ジメチル−6−tert−ブチルフェノール、2,6−ジ−tert−アルファ−ジメチルアミノ−p−クレゾール、2,6−ジ−tert−4−(N,N’−ジメチルアミノメチルフェノール)、4,4’−チオビス(2−メチル−6−tert−ブチルフェノール)、2,2’−チオビス(4−メチル−6−tert−ブチルフェノール)、およびビス(3−メチル−4−ヒドロキシ−5−tert−ブチルベンジル)−スルフィド。
(c)その他の型:金属ジチオカルバメート(例えば、亜鉛ジチオカルバメート)、およびメチレンビス(ジブチルジチオカルバメート)。
(a)非イオン性ポリオキシエチレン界面活性剤:ポリオキシエチレンラウリルエーテル、ポリオキシエチレン高級アルコールエーテル、ポリオキシエチレンノニルフェニルエーテル、ポリオキシエチレンオクチルフェニルエーテル、ポリオキシエチレンオクチルステアリルエーテル、ポリオキシエチレンオレイルエーテル、ポリオキシエチレンソルビトールモノステアレート、ポリオキシエチレンソルビトールモノオレエート、およびポリエチレングリコールモノオレエート。
(b)その他の化合物:ステアリン酸およびその他の脂肪酸、ジカルボン酸、金属石鹸、脂肪酸アミン塩、重質スルホン酸の金属塩、多価アルコールの部分カルボン酸エステル、およびリン酸エステル。
アルキルフェノールと酸化エチレンの付加物、ポリオキシエチレンアルキルエーテル、およびポリオキシエチレンソルビタンエステル。
硫化油、硫化ジフェニル、メチルトリクロロステアレート、塩素化ナフタレン、フルオロアルキルポリシロキサン、およびナフテン酸鉛。
脂肪アルコール、脂肪酸、アミン、ホウ酸化エステル(例えば、ホウ酸化グリセロールモノオレエート)、およびその他のエステル。
硫化オキシモリブデンジチオカルバメート、硫化オキシモリブデン有機リンジチオエート、オキシモリブデンモノグリセリド、オキシモリブデンジエチレートアミド、アミン−モリブデン錯化合物、および硫黄含有モリブデン錯化合物。
ポリメタクリレート型重合体、エチレン−プロピレン共重合体、スチレン−イソプレン共重合体、水和スチレン−イソプレン共重合体、ポリイソブチレン、および分散剤型粘度指数向上剤。
ポリメチルメタクリレート。
アルキルメタクリレート重合体、およびジメチルシリコーン重合体。

これら比較例の目的は、完成組成物に5より大きいTBNを付与するのに十分な量の過塩基性清浄剤と中性スルホネートとを含む潤滑剤組成物の使用から生じる、高加重ディーゼルエンジン作動中の摩耗への影響を測定することにある。

Claims (10)
- 高荷重ディーゼルエンジンでの使用に適した潤滑油組成物であって、下記の成分を含む潤滑油組成物:
主要量の潤滑粘度の油、そして
a)該高荷重ディーゼルエンジンの作動の間の堆積物の生成を抑制するのに十分な量の過塩基性清浄添加剤、
b)該高荷重ディーゼルエンジンの高温作動の間の堆積物の生成を抑制するのに十分な量の、TBNが25以下の中性のアルカリ又はアルカリ土類金属スルホネート、および
c)該高荷重ディーゼルエンジンの作動の間の摩耗の発生を防止するのに十分な量の分散状のアルカリ金属ホウ酸塩水和物。 - 過塩基性清浄添加剤が、潤滑油組成物に少なくとも5のTBNを付与するのに十分な量で用いられている請求項1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 潤滑油組成物のTBNが5乃至20である請求項2に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 潤滑油組成物のTBNが12乃至15である請求項3に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 分散状のアルカリ金属ホウ酸塩組成物水和物が、潤滑油組成物の全重量の0.1乃至5重量%の量で存在する請求項1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 分散状のアルカリ金属ホウ酸塩組成物水和物が、0.2乃至2重量%の量で存在する請求項5に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 分散状のアルカリ金属ホウ酸塩水和物が分散状の水和ホウ酸カリウムである請求項1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 中性のアルカリ又はアルカリ土類金属スルホネートが、組成物の全重量に基づき0.2乃至5重量%の量で存在する請求項1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- さらに、耐摩耗及び酸化防止有効量のモリブデン/窒素含有錯体を含む請求項1に記載の潤滑油組成物。
- 高荷重ディーゼルエンジンの作動の間摩耗および堆積物を抑制する方法であって、下記の成分を含む潤滑油組成物を用いてエンジンを作動させることからなる方法:
a)主要量の潤滑粘度の油、
b)該高荷重ディーゼルエンジンの作動の間の堆積物の生成を抑制するのに十分な量の過塩基性清浄添加剤、
c)該高荷重ディーゼルエンジンの高温作動の間の堆積物の生成を抑制するのに十分な量の、TBNが25以下の中性のアルカリ又はアルカリ土類金属スルホネート、および
d)該高荷重ディーゼルエンジンの作動の間摩耗の発生を防止するのに十分な量の分散状のアルカリ金属ホウ酸塩水和物。
