Description
Claims (4)
- 前後に所定の間隔で重ね合わせた二枚の液晶表示パネルと、
外部から入力する表示データを前記二枚の液晶表示パネルのそれぞれの表示部に表示させる表示信号に変換して供給する表示制御回路を搭載した駆動回路基板と、
前記駆動回路基板と前記二枚の液晶表示パネルのそれぞれとの間に接続して当該二枚の液晶表示パネルのそれぞれに供給する前記表示信号を伝送するためのフレキシブルプリント基板とを有する液晶表示装置であって、
前記駆動回路基板は前記後側の液晶表示パネルの背面に設置されており、
前記フレキシブルプリント基板は、前記二枚の液晶表示パネルについて同一仕様であり、かつ前記二枚の液晶表示パネルの対応する同一辺に沿って接続した長尺部分と、この長尺部分の一端でコ字形に折り返されて前記長尺部分に沿って当該長尺部分よりも短い長さで延びる幅広部分とを有し、
前記幅広部分を前記二枚の液晶表示パネルの厚み方向に折り曲げてその端部に有する端子部を前記後側の液晶表示パネルの背面に設けた前記回路基板に設けたコネクタのそれぞれに接続したことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1において、
前記フレキシブルプリント基板は、表裏にカバーフィルムを積層した多層構造を有し、
前記幅広部分の前記表裏のカバーフィルムの少なくとも一方に、前記折り曲げの容易性を確保するための前記液晶表示パネルの辺に対して傾斜した線状の剥離部分を複数個所に有することを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項2において、
前記二枚の液晶表示パネルのそれぞれに長尺部分を接続した前記フレキシブルプリント基板のそれぞれは、折り曲げた前記線状剥離部分が異なることを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 請求項1乃至3の何れかにおいて、
前記二枚の液晶表示パネルの各表示部に表示される二次元画像との重ね合わせで三次元画像を生成することを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
